It was a good season for the Tigers, considering what they had to work with. They made it as far as they realistically could. They played hard for their new coach and never quit, which is a good sign. I thought Yates might put up a 30 or 40 piece on us. I'd honestly be a little worried that this game was a fight in the first half if I'm a Lions fan and making to state is the goal. Silsbee was only a decent team at their best this year. Most of the productive players from this squad will graduate. Next season is going to feel like a true reboot. They're gonna have a bunch of baby kittens out there playing; very ferocious kittens, but still kittens.

I like the way that Rs are cool with a President having unilateral authority to topple regimes anywhere he wants without even consulting Congress. We just removed a bad guy so that the next bad guys can swoop in and take over. If we don’t have another “caliphate” in Iran in two years, I’ll be shocked.

Some folks would rather stay in their past, we have to deal with the now. Trump oversold the bunker buster damage, according to several reliable sources, Iran is the number one sponsor of terrorism in the world, funding Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis. I have no idea how advanced their nuclear program is and neither does anyone here, but apparently it was a problem that needed to be dealt with determined by way more folks than Trump. We’ll see, it’s happening.

While we have to live with being spied on, hopefully it won’t get as bad as “Enemy of the State” with Will Smith and Gene Hackman. As for Anthropic and our military, we don’t know what went on behind closed doors. That has to be some top secret talks and really not for our ears. Trump has to be very careful because of the leakage. He will also take the heat for the decision. Some people will call it falling in lockstep, but that’s because they’re not used to a leader with cods. There has to be more to it because all I hear is that we have to win the AI “race”.

Move each letter up one in the alphabet and what do you get? IBM. I don’t know if machines will take over the world. I do know that much of what was science fiction, back to Jules Verne, has become reality. The processing power of AI is mind boggling. The more it knows the deeper it can go. As Ol Dawg said, Pandora’s thrown away the key. I don’t see it ever getting sufficiently controlled so as not to pose as a continuous potential threat to individual privacy or national security. The scope is scary. Call me crazy, but I don’t use the voice controls on my phone, and it aggravates the hell out of my wife that I won’t use Alexa to search the tv. My phone has never told me out of the blue “I didn’t get that”. Hers has. I use ad blockers but they can still get at you. The power of the algorithm to guide us only to sites it thinks we like because of our searches is terrifying. That in itself is an example of how AI can influence us. It behooves us all to think twice (at least) before we believe whatever our devices are sending us. I watched it. At least, I watched one with Musk talking about how AI is already too smart for the trainers, and it’s basically teaching itself now. I think it was from Oct. 2025. Thanks for the refer. Scary Stuff. On one hand, I’d love for it to be able to help with my wife. We even joked we might be able to buy a robot soon to help me take care of her. On the other hand, the misuse possibilities are enormous.

This should be a very good game. I was a little surprised that Sterling beat La Porte but was even more surprised how close a win it was for Crosby over Huntsville. Thought Crosby would win that one by double digits. Give me the Rangers by 7.
