  1. Just wanted to give a shout out to AD/HC Randy Smith of Silsbee. Coach Smith has now been at Silsbee for 9 seasons. His overall record is 78-32. District record 38-9 and playoff record is 18-9. He has won 3 district championships, 7 Bi-District championships, 6 Area championships, 3 regional finals (2 championships) 2 state semifinals. His teams have made it to the 3rd round or better in 6 of his 9 seasons. They have averaged 3rd round over those 9 seasons. Here is a breakdown of each of those seasons: Overall District Playoffs 2016 6-5 4-1 R 0-1 2017 7-5 4-1 C 2-1 2018 10-5 3-1 R 4-1 2019 9-4 3-1 R 4-1 2020 7-3 5-1 R 1-1 2021 5-5 4-2 T 0-1 2022 13-1 6-0 C 3-1 2023 12-1 6-0 C 2-1 2024 9-4 3-2 T 2-1 He has won 72% of his games overall, 81% of district games and 69% of playoff games. All this as a first time HC. Coach Smith has also been an excellent AD. Silsbee has a very successful athletic program. Congrats to Coach Smith on what I consider one of his best coaching years this season.

  3. 9-4 on the year, made it to 3rd round after losing 26 seniors which was one of the most successful classes to ever come through Silsbee. I say that's a pretty good season. Most folks knew Silsbee would take a drop this year. You can't lose that kind of senior class and not have a drop off. Kudos to Coach Smith and his staff for doing another great job with these kids. Tigers were pretty young this year but grew up quickly. Silsbee will be losing some quality senior leadership in QB Moshier, RB/LB Farr, RB/DB Gaines and WR/DB Miller. Those guys will definitely be missed. Silsbee should return 4 of the 5 Oline, 2 WR (except one of them, Johnson, will move to QB). Tigers will return the entire DL, 3 of the LB's and 3 DB's. Good quality returners back for next season. Congrats on the year. Job well done.

  5. PNG has done this time and time again over the last three years. Finding ways to scrap out wins against teams as good or better than them to advance in the playoffs. Fantastic win tonight!

    PNG vs SOC

I think it will be a close game. If it comes down to a 1 score game, PNG has the most outcomes with a win. SOC had a weaker schedule, not counting their non-district games, making them look better than they are, but not saying that they aren’t a powerhouse. And their big wins over subpar teams make them overconfident. No doubt, though, we are in the toughest region in 5A D2. One other thing that the Indians have in their arsenal that most other teams don’t is the fans willing to travel long distances filling our side and bringing the noise and dreadful “tomahawk chop”…the 12th man!

  8. There is just no excuse!! You don't win without unity!! Everyone has to play there part !!

  9. I think there are several 'intangibles' that played a part in this win. Losing to Nederland woke them up to how much we all hate to lose. After TH clobbered Nederland, they were overconfident knowing PNG had lost them. I also think the Thursday night game PNG an extra day to recoop and get ready, this might have been just enough to win.

  11. Combination of big arena backdrop and good perimeter defense. was told FP closed out very well. Not a lot of real open look threes by Kountze. Plus the fact FP didn't turn it over and made it more a half court game.

  12. You are right… PNG o line leaned and played hard all night. T High d line started dropping like flies late in the game during crunch time.

  13. Silsbee QB Mikey Moshier ended as the all time passing yards leader at Silsbee. Finished his career with 5,535 yards. Breaks the career record of Mason Brisbane's 4902 career passing yards. He failed to break Brisbane's career passing TD's of 64. Moshier finished with 59 career passing TD's.

  31. Conditioning, conditioning, conditioning….this played a huge part in last night victory as well. Our OL destroyed TH in the second half. Hats off to our sophomore RB. That kid took every hand off against a strong D from TH. Conditioning!!!

  33. I agree! The passing game has been their bread and butter, and PNG'S secondary has struggled throughout the season. Instead, they kept handing it off to the Oregon commit and PNG's front 7 is their strength. Sending in big Jackson Christian on the FG attempt was great call by the OC.

  42. Actually it isn’t propaganda. Do they specifically harbor any gang or criminal? No. Is their policy to not notify ICE that an illegal alien gang member or other illegal alien is in their custody? Yes. This is quote from the official Los Angeles city website of a council member. The newly adopted ordinance permanently enshrines sanctuary policies into municipal law and prohibits the use of City resources, including property and personnel, from being utilized for immigration enforcement or to cooperate with federal immigration agents engaged in immigration enforcement. Critically, the Ordinance also prohibits the direct and indirect sharing of data with federal immigration authorities – an important gap to close in our city’s protections for immigrants. Also: Prohibiting the use of City resources for federal immigration enforcement shouldn’t depend only on executive actions that could be overturned by a future Mayor or Police Chief. This is common sense policy for LA.” So they made it where even a police chief could not make contact with ICE and it doesn’t make exemptions for criminals. To make sure that there was no loopholes, they added no “indirect sharing” of information and no “personal property” to be used. So a chief of police couldn’t simply say, “Okay, I won’t use city resources or do it directly. I can wait until I am off duty and use my personal cell phone”. So as a private citizen and not acting in any official capacity, he is not allowed to contact federal law enforcement and let them know that someone they may be looking for is currently in the city jail. That is intentionally protecting criminals for the sake of politics. Every time one of the illegal alien criminals is released and notice to ICE for deportation or filing of federal charges is denied, every murder, rape, burglary, assault, etc., committed by one of them is the result of protection given to violent criminals by the city of Los Angeles. Imagine a city offering protection to violent criminals because they don’t like election results or for votes. [Hidden Content]
