This was the game where everything came together for BU to get upset. Two lucky buzzer beaters to keep clear falls in it early. Sloppy play and bad turnovers by United, and a great game plan and execution by Clear Falls. A lot of tough calls going against United for most of the second half. But they found a way to get it done! What an incredible accomplishment to jump from 5A to 6A and still find a way back to San Antonio! Now bring home another one in the biggest classification!

I disagree. Silsbee wins the close games. Washington tends to lose hard, tough close games. That's why I stated that Silsbee kids are tougher, hard nose and Washington isn't. That was the difference last year. I see it going the same this year.

BTW is a much better matchup against FF than we are. FF beat BTW by 10 I’m the season opener for each. But that was then. I think that if the Eagles play as well against FF as they did today (and get the same refs they had today: sorry can’t help myself) they can win.

Regardless whether it’s DeSoto or Brennan, BU should be a decent favorite. Atascocita beat Brennan by 20, and they have some other so-so losses. DeSoto lost a couple of district games that were against subpar competition, including to 12-21 Waxahachamacallit

I still have to go with Silsbee by 6-8pts. I've watch this group of young men since the 8th grade playing and winning the Middle School Houston Tournament. They find ways to win. If that kid didn't hit like six 3pointers in the 1st half last year, Silsbee would have won by more. My prediction is Silsbee 76-70. Lewis and McDermott will score but we have need to get them in foul trouble.

Ellison is the real deal. 3 losses to pretty good 6A squads by a total of 7 points this season

One observation. I didn’t appreciate how good Hardin Jefferson is. They played us about as tough as Furr did. Jacksonville too for that matter. And lowly Liberty out scored us in one quarter. Conclusion? There’s good 4A basketball in East Texas.
