If there are any returners that were among the players who refused to go in the game, they would not be part of my program going forward. TBH, they wouldn’t have continued to wear the Jersey on the sideline. Send them straight to the lockeroom, and if their parents were there, send them home. Those type of individuals are what keeps a program from taking another step forward. As a teammate, I don’t even have to say what should happen to them, y’all already know how y’all would handle it. I don’t even have a connection to this team, with the exception of being district mates, but this has been eating at me all night, Bc there are kids and coaches who bust their ass every day during off season, during the season, to get the opportunity to play in a playoff game, and they never reach that goal, and then these kids are scared of a challenge and don’t appreciate the gift, the opportunity that they have earned, and I’m sure they worked hard to get there too, but they will have to live with that the rest of their lives, every time they look in the mirror, or drive by a stadium, or run into old teammates 20 years from now. It will always be with them, and deservedly so. Congrats on a great, historical season United, that community should be proud of y’all! See y’all next year!

That’s not what a competitor does, I don’t know the whole situation, but as an athlete, you have to welcome that opportunity, to have the chance to play against the best in the state. GO COMPETE

It was only Seniors as far as I seen. No returning players. This is also the last class that either attended Central or Ozen. Next years Senior class will be the first four year class of BU. It will take some work but I think Coach Graham will get the culture headed in the right direction...

And Vidor placed 3rd in state at the same contest!

The problem is these kids listen to the fans and not the coaches. The qb quit on his team after his last interception, then some fans were like pull him out and he refused to go back in. I've always told my child never turnaround and talk to the fans.

I did not know this until this afternoon, but a friend of the site, as well as a friend of mine and many here, was hospitalized this week after contracting the COVID virus. I got in touch with Gary tonight and while he said it was shaky for the while, he has turned the corner and is feeling alot better. Let's keep Gary in our prayers for his continued recovery.

He had on off night throwing the deep ball, maybe the rain or just an off night. It doesn’t matter. He will play better in Jerry’s house. The Dawg D will now get to show the entire state just how special they really are on the biggest stage in high school football. You people may not know but they start 9 juniors. Three D line, all three linebackers, one cornerback, and one safety are coming back. Add in D lineman number 80 a sophomore that has played in every game. This defense will be talked about for a very long time.

Spot on. BU kids wonder why Brook has more success on the field and it starts from a program culture standpoint. WB has its issues for sure but I guarantee nobody would have quit or left their shoulder pads in the locker room at halftime.

I did, I was not expecting the game to be much different than it turned out to be. The stadium is in a very nice neighborhood, quite different than your normal high school stadiums. Very little room on the visitors side from the field to the stands. I was on the top row and you could hear the coaches talking to the players. It was not easy finding the parking garage for the visitors which was on a one way street with road construction. The bag pipes playing before the game gave a unique feeling. You could tell they have lots of tradition and community support. I'm glad I made the trip.

I prefer to call spider our resident "pessimist"...he expects every play of every game to go Nederland's way...football just doesn't work that way! it's a game of ups and downs and teams that overcome the downs the best prevail. In any event, when you look at the game in totality, the Dogs were pretty dang solid...holding a team to barely over 100 yards is impressive, regardless of the opponent...even more difficult in a blowout when trash time yards are often wracked up...perfect performance? no, but those are extremely rare in this game...next week should naturally be tougher, but most objective folks would have to consider this team to have been more successful than anyone thought
