Hey HF you have no reason to hang your heads what you’ve accomplished this season was unprecedented. There are a lot of grown ppl hurt by the fact some kids are achieving their dreams and defying the odds. No matter what gets said about your coach I’m sure you know the truth and how he has helped you grow everyday not just in basketball but in life . Keep pushing and grinding because it only gets harder but I know you kids will up for the task. To the the true COACH OF THE YEAR TIGEE RIDEAUX , I know your a competitor inside and out just keep leading your program in the right direction and block out all the negativity. There will always be roadblocks the only way is thru them,around them or over them .

So proud of this Raider team! Broke the most wins in school history with 24 wins and got the program’s first playoff win!!!! Beyond proud

Since you are so insightful regarding deficits and debts, can you tell me why Trumps predecessor increased the debt more than all of his predecessors combined? Can you tell me why Trumps predecessor was the only President ever to preside over a debt rating downgrade for the United States.? The market drop doesn't bother me. I have been through it many many times and EVERY time following the drop, the market moves on to new highs.

4 of the 5 transfers to Yates this year are seniors. If that's not a red flag, what is? I know schools get transfers. But when you get 3,4,5 a year and they are one sport players (not just students) and seniors to boot, that's suspicious.

They already live there. They were just playing at other schools because HF basketball program was subpar. That's what happens when you actually get a real coach. Players will stay home

I saw that game, he wasn't impressive at all when pressure applied. Most shooters are zone defense players and can't handle man to man. HF will have the best player in the district hands down next year, if not 2 or 3. They have a JV player that I believe will average a double double next year. Their PG will be probably be one of the tops in the district and they have a kid coming that is one of the best in the state. He's been at a charter school the past few years due to his dad being the coach there. His family lives in Cheeks

There is a certain amount of ignorance apparent in this thread. Many have no idea how the UIL guidelines are enforced. This word.. “transfer”... keeps getting thrown around. Transfer refers to a student that DOES NOT LIVE in a school’s attendance zone. In that case, they are not eligible for UIL competition for one calendar year from the day they enroll. If these 6’8 kids MOVED into Yates’ attendance zone then they are legally eligible. It is against the law to deny an education to any student that lives in your attendance zone. THEY DO NOT HAVE ACCESS to every high school kid in the city or Houston.

Another solution would be classifying schools based on their player pools, not their school enrollment. So in instances like this, where a district is clearly allowing students to transfer schools for athletic purposes, or allows kids to choose any school in the district regardless of their residency, have them play in 6A since they’re forming teams from thousands of kids (or tens of thousands), not the 700 or 800 zoned for their school.

Shadow Creek was loaded. We had to play our best to win, and we didn’t. Missed too many easy shots and had way too many turnovers.

Back to back school record years. Yes, a very good group of young men. Proud of them. Played a great game against a formidable opponent. Congrats to them and Coach Mitchell.

I've spoke with BTW coach Grayland a few times. He is a good person. I am glad he has that program doing positive things. The coach for HF needs to be commended as well.

A lot of those kids have ties to yates .. great grandparents, grandparents , or parents went there ..yates is a very old school ...with yates basketball ur argument goes both ways ... they lose kids to the ft bend schools which are always exceptional in basketball , they lose kids to Prep and private schools ... this balances out.. yates does not have to recruit any players ...players already want to go there ..

The AD is making those statements because Yates is making money for the district. Don’t let politics fool you, if HISD was so in love with Yates why is it they didn’t schedule one game for Yates in the New Delmar Field-house. Yates game attendance is greater then Bellaire, Lamar and The Heights but those schools gets to play at Delmar.

Salty or simply the truth? Does ANYONE deny that Yates recruits? This isn’t college basketball, it’s high school. The idea is to take the kids in your town and play against the kids in the next town to see who is better. The next level, college, is where you get the best talent from said schools and put them on the same team and then compete. Yates is basically a small college/JUCO team.

I guess some can’t take a loss. You cry about the system that allows you to do the same thing . Quit getting on this board crying about kids transferring when it happens everywhere . Some get better players some don’t and when it doesn’t work to your advantage your crying a river . The entire UIL is made it up of well you guessed it . So how does that happen or are the kids there legit . All a coach can do is prepare his/her team to play. Your job isn’t to worry about what the other team has going on but to give your kids the confidence to play the game at a high level. Oh and kids have to get better period !!!!!!

I cant answer that just like you or they can't answer " would the results have been the same if the 4 seniors who suddenly showed up this year ( in a mysterious quest for a better education, of course) had not shown up?
