Bush got one steal that lead to a 5 point lead. Harper had the other one that put the game away.

Nobody off the top of my head. McCain went 15/16 from FT in state championship win over Dallas Carter. Thought that was pretty impressive. Brae went 9/10 in that game as well. Silsbee went 30-34 from line in that game.

Can I just say how entertaining this district was this year, top to bottom? It was about as competitive as you can get. And congrats to both of these teams, and especially the Silsbee Tigers. This one was hard fought and earned. And forget what fans say about what round you may or may be done in. I see 4 teams going to the playoffs from this district who can play with just about anybody. One game, one possession at a time...

Bob Hope lost. Granbury kids towered above us. Their shortest kid is 5' 10". Eagles lost the 3rd place game to Heights later in the day 57-56. Still a productive season. Won the most games in school history and will return all but 1 starter next year. Plus a very strong middle school team coming up in the next few years

It seems like a HUGE deal to me. If the HJ player keeps his mouth shut, Silsbee does not get the equivalent of three extra possessions to which HJ did not get to respond. Possession 1 equivalent is two made free throws Possession 2 equivalent is another two made free throw Possession three equivalent is the out of bounds after the free throws that produced a three pointer. From my perspective, three extra possessions producing 7 points is a very big deal. The difference is HJ lost a possession they had earned by being fouled and giving up three free possessions for the technical.

All you know that it's all under the table. It's easy in the Big city... If that would have been Silsbee are HJ the UIL would be all over it..

The refs were clearly one sided, but the ladies dig deep for this one. They battled through bad free throw shooting, leg cramps, fatigue, ect and battled back and won. We'd make these games more easier if we make our point blank layups. We appreciate the H-J fans that stayed to watch us. Truly appreciated...

Evadale won by 3, I think 74 to 71. It was a very good game Evadale came back from a 25 point lead at half time, and I wish them luck in playoffs.

2 is different than 1. They also have zero interest in the game, so it’ll be a pain in the butt keeping them semi-still

Wellllllll let me get the last word in before they lock the thread because that’s what the moderators are good at So your telling me all this hoopla about some jv players whipping up on kids who have varsity experience sounds really sad to me. Kids who never played varsity and would’ve been on jv at whatever school they attended this year . Cry me a river and get over it . UIL and DC found them to be in compliance so what’s the excuse now. Technically ppl move for all kinds of reasons so don’t assume these kids moved for basketball to a school with a losing history . Again Get over it and move on . Like what was said earlier HJ,Silsbee,EC, Nederland all get kids who have moved into the district regardless of family ties or whatever and y’all keep quiet about that. Doesn’t take away the face Coach Rideau has them playing outside of themselves. Grown men haters go find hobby please and quit whining on a message boards about kids.
