Final 50-28. Congrats to the Vidor kids and coaches. I was really impressed with how hard your kids played and the execution was nice. Number 55 at nose was dominating as was most of the team and not afraid to hit for sure. Not sure how old that Simmons kid was but he ran hard and had nice speed. Dayton is 1-22 their last 23 games and it’s hard to watch but I think the kids continued to give good effort even though I’m sure it’s not easy. Oh well glad to see both teams finish injury free and wish all the seniors from both teams the best.

WOS is much better than last year and the kids are so much more bought in. The only loss on the schedule is due to their 4 turnovers in one half. We’re peaking at the right time. Limit all the turnovers and we’ll be pretty darn tough to beat for anybody.

My pick would have to be Dayton. I know they have had a bad few years so I think we are all expecting it now, but it’s just hard to wrap my head around. My favorite football game to ever attend was Dayton @ Lumberton in 2007, we beat them 8-7. I think they beat us 55-0 the year before... it just doesn’t seem right for Dayton to be this bad now. (silsbee vs El Campo a couple years back would probably be a really close second favorite to that game)

Congrats to Jasper on winning district. The Bulldogs have a lot of talent and are well coached. Some of the best tackling I've seen in quite some time. Your defense was relentless. I believe y'all had 4 picks and held our very talented RB to minimum yards. Take away Horace 80+ yard touchdown run on the first play of the game, he may have gotten only 40-50 yards total. Crosby finishes off a struggling opponent the way you’re supposed to going into the playoffs. Crosby puts up their first 50 point game under the new staff as well as their first 600 yard output. I’m not certain but I also believe this is our first turnover free game this season and the least pre-snap penalties we’ve had all year. It’s how you want to look at the end of the season, even if it’s only for one more week. Awesome job boys. I give credit to those kids who never gave up, who never hung their heads, who stayed in the fight. I give credit to the Coach who went out of the box and put faith in that scrappy group of kids who refused to give up. Hats off to number 13 from LCM. Almost too much to handle. Hell, I was almost ready to hang my head down after the 1st 1/2. It takes a lot of character and fortitude to come back and win a game like that when it feels like nothing’s going your way. I want to congratulate the Lumberton Raiders on their win tonight . Its been since 2009 since they have beat the Bears. 2nd and foremost if the coaching staff doesn't improve the Bears will never become more then a below average football team. I hope there will be a change in the future

Another big half from Clayson Choate. The kick return for a touchdown to answer Anahuac’s opening touchdown was awesome but the pick 6 was something special. Kid is exciting to watch in the open field.

Well, we here at SETXsports need to be a little more "open" minded. IMO, our Game of the Week isn't just about rivalry and history. Should be what the best or most important game is on the slate. Don't get me wrong, love the game. But I will never vote it as our game of the week if neither are making the playoffs or both have losing seasons. BTW, I voted for the New Caney/Porter game.
