The Tree Player of the Game - Raymond Foster, Silsbee QB

Lamar lost to Westfield and The Woodlands. A lot of teams would be 0-2 with those two schools as your first two games.

Key thing here is Miss opportunities. . United cannot keep leaving TD's on the field. We did it last week Vs. Nederland and We did it last night. I counted 24 Points left on the field. The dropped TD pass on the near sideline, the Fumble in the red Zone, the Missed FG and Stupid penalties Need to be cleaned up. And in no way should we get ANY delay of game penalties with the offense that we run. In the first quarter, the run to the edges worked and I have no idea why we went away from it. Later, PA made adjustments and we started running up the middle, which is a good sign, I guess. QB play was decent, but #5 will need to not take the unnecessary hard hit and just run out of bounds and/or throw the ball away if he is flushed out of the pocket. Other than that, our O-Line blocked well and our RB's ate all night long. I have no issues with the defense. They hit hard and were fast to the ball. D-Line was dominant as they have been all year and I see our LB's are getting better after each game. Honestly, Memorial has the athletes, but I think they were just outmatched with the overall size of BU, just looking at the battle in the trenches. Still, some good pieces. Ned is a beast and they QB has some wheels. That was apparent on that 50 yard scamper to paydirt as he outran the BU defense. That right there can be utilized in district and can cause New Caney fits. Memorial Needs to find some kids that want to hit someone on defense. Arm tackles against big ball carriers won't cut the mustard, so I think they will need to address that. Someone will need to also emerge as a leader on that defense and talk to someone and light a fire under someone's arse. I didn't see that at all. I think PA will be fine and Morgan will have the team getting a lot better. They'll be , again, in a position to win district based on the talent I seen out there. Game ball goes to Sophomore Rivers for playing great defense and getting a TD, this time from the punt return. Including scrimmages up to this point, I just get higher on this kid and he fails to disappoint. I love young guns that ball out in big games. To conclude, PA will need to work on blocking and tackling in their bye week. United will need to work on Silly penalties and mistakes on offense. If both teams do this, they'll peak in district and be in a position to do great things.

#41 is just a sophomore .his ceiling is through the roof. And he will make alot defenses look bad. But he has to learn to hold on to the ball.has a fumble in every game this year.he has made up for it. But u can't keep putting ur defense in this type of situation against gud teams.newton coaches are so impressive to its unreal with that talent they had.even when they struggled to move the ball.he made sure they done enough to win the game.

Its scheme and his adjustments or lack there of. WB has some kids on that defense that can play. Dude just suck as a DC and he was who I was hoping Peevey would replace.

I hope it's not to a point where WB will have to outscore people week in and week out. That Defense will need to get some things sorted during this bye week.

I thought Foster had a very good game, particularly in taking care of the football. One of the reasons why we chose him as player of the game. But I put emphasis on him taking care of the ball because he had 4 turnovers in first two games and that may be the reason some wanted to see Briscoe get some reps. I think Foster should be the starter. Just would like to see Briscoe get some time. Oh, and our tackling improved a little, but still not very good.

Very solid win for Silsbee. Still far too many penalties which can bit you in the tail in future games. 9-13 and 4TDs for Raymond Foster is fantastic. Balanced passing and rushing is what this team will need to win district and advance in the playoffs. Still missed some tackles but I think it will get better during the season.

Nederland, you have some nice pieces with the RB, the wr and you have a good linemen. I'm sure Coach Barrow will have it going when district starts. That QB will only get better . You too, rally behind these kids, because if Nederland turns it around and peaks in district and gives a great playoff run, you'll have to eat those negative comments...

Nederland has a little talent, but are currently making way to many mistakes to win football games. O-Line, QB play, and definitely the secondary need to improve. Luckily, we get a week off and start the district campaign 0-0. We also need to find some leadership. That appears to be lacking at the moment. Congrats to Silsbee on a nice win. You guys got some nice talent over there.

Mark it down #1 stays at QB we will only have 2 district wins. Facts.

Glad kogt doing this one. I had to listen to other guys last year. No offense to them, but Gary and John really make it exciting.

I don't know anything about Crosby either, but I do know something about WOS. Crosby better come with their big boy britches on, cause the're gonna get challenged. I kinda assume that WOS is a young team, and young teams sometimes make mistakes, fumble a lot and the like. The mustangs are a very talented group. The mistakes will get fewer. I recall that the 2017 Newton team made mistakes out tha wazoo. They were just good enough to overcome. WOS will too, in my view. I will be listening, since Newton has a bye next week. When I say switch to the power I I don't mean completely avoid the pass, I just think they could move the ball on the ground and pick up first downs and I think teams would bite on play action and leave wr open more, but you gotta play it smart don't pass on ovious passing downs when the defence is expecting the pass, pass when there expecting the run. With as good as wos defense is every year they don't need to try and air it out and score fast all the time, or throw 3 incomplete passes go 3 and out and get your defence back on the field with little rest

Word is Zach Evans is having some issues at North Shore and might go to IMG. They are still a formidable foe without him. But this is still a big hit to their team if he cannot return. Especially with Banks banged up

It was a 2pt game with 5 something left in the 4th quarter and then Ned muffed a punt return. Ned also missed several scoring opportunities, two FG and should have had a TD but penalties killed that drive. Ned has to cut down on the penalties and the mental errors.

Great game, WOS. I am rooting for you guys. Newton has now won 3 out of the last 4 games against WOS. That is impressive. Newton has not missed a beat from last season. They’re so fundamentally sound and stacked with athletes for such a small school.

It was played last night. 22-22 was the correct final score. I’m not sure why it ended in a tie though.
