from your article, see below On another note, I know you mentioned you would not like it from either side, but both sides do it. It is a tit for tat game and the one that does not do it losses.....as long as it is within the laws and legal, why not? The bending the knee / bowing is being used for anything the Dems don't like......like the settlements with universities.....the King narrative..... Cory Booker is trying to win an Oscar for his performances.....lol A person familiar with Abbott’s thinking said it was “inaccurate” to characterize the governor as being reluctant to pursue redistricting, but declined to provide any additional details. Andrew Mahaleris, a spokesperson for Abbott, declined to comment on Abbott’s conversations with Trump and other Republicans about redistricting but said the governor “looks forward to the legislature addressing important topics such as flood relief and property tax cuts, along with other critical issues, during this special session.” Abbott justified the redistricting by saying it was needed to address “constitutional concerns raised by the U.S. Department of Justice” about the current maps, which were drawn in 2021 and are the subject of an ongoing court challenge. The concerns were raised in a DOJ letter dated two days before Abbott announced the special session, in which Assistant U.S. Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon argued that four of Texas’ Democratic-controlled districts were unconstitutional and should be redrawn on the grounds of racial gerrymandering. -

I’ve never supported it. Political gerrymandering is a form of voter suppression, regardless what party’s doing it. -
Was told 145 total for Bellville on the first day. Big freshman group

I guess you do too. You told her “inferior people lose arguments”. You called yourself out on that one. ‘Splained enough? -
don't see it happening. i know i said 150-180, i'll say 3-4 games will be probably below that. on another note thats not good enough to do big things in the playoffs. First rd i don't count cause that district is a joke.

Thanks for recognizing that it is illegal. Inferior people lose arguments. The smug left is always condescending. I was merely pointing that out. Your interpretation is expected. -

It’s called courage. The cowards are the ones in charge. Scared of Trump. Special session was supposed to be cannabis reform. Then the floods happened. They were gonna look into that as well. Then Trump said jump and our local issues go to the back burner. That,my friend, is the height of cowardice. Putting an individual’s demand above constituent needs. Shameful. -

I don’t question your ability. I have no doubts about it. There’s nothing woke about what I’m saying. It’s about fair numbers. It’s kind of like Evadale being in the same district with Beaumont United. They’d be playing football, 11 players on each side of the ball, but would it be a fair game? if all districts were drawn 51-49, 52-48, in favor of either party, it would be a political game changer for the betterment of democracy. I ain’t flaunting crap. I dropped out of UT after 2 1/2 years. Don’t try that “elite” talk with me. It’s your idol what loves the class wars. -

Democracy Dies in a Charter Jet: The Great Texas Walkout! From the article: "Once again, Democrats in the great state of Texas are refusing to play a game they've lost at the ballot box. Rather than demonstrating integrity and character by accepting the election results, they are revealing their true colors by fleeing to prevent Republicans from passing a redrawn congressional map. What the Democrats are doing isn't new, bold, and it sure as hell isn't noble. It's political cowardice wrapped in just enough self-righteousness to impress only news readers and party donors." WOW! Even CNN is questioning the why the Dems fled to Illinois! From the article: "When you have CNN calling you out, you’re in trouble. Everyone knows their retreat isn’t a principled stand for democracy; it’s a tactical maneuver to preserve political power. They howl about partisan maps in red states while conveniently disappearing into a blue stronghold that perfected the art of gerrymandering. This is hypocrisy at its most brazen. They want one standard for Republicans — fairness, transparency, reform — while exempting themselves from all of it. And when voters start to notice the double standard? They vanish. If Democrats truly cared about “fair maps,” they wouldn’t be hiding out in Illinois, the national poster child for redistricting abuse. Their actions betray their motives, exposing this entire charade for what it really is: a desperate, self-serving stunt to cling to power under the phony guise of democratic integrity. In the end, their retreat to Illinois tells us everything we need to know. This isn’t about democracy; it’s about Democrats. And the louder they scream about fairness, the clearer it becomes: they’re just afraid of losing." [Hidden Content] -

We all know this is being done to attempt to achieve a political gain. It may/may not work. Strengthening one area dilutes another. We’ll see… On a side note, I don’t think it’s a bad idea to relook at numbers for representation in a less than decade increment. Texas population has exploded from new residents. I believe Harris & Travis counties are getting about 150,000/year according to some numbers I saw last week. It may have been more. Ten years is a long time with that type growth. Uncle Sam can track just about everything we do. Quite sure they have a number they can use almost any year without waiting on a census.
