This is goofy to me. I buy a house and now my kid is ineligible because he’s good at football? UIL shouldn’t have that much power. I’ve seen a case where CPS had to intervene with the UIL because the child was removed from the home. Another case where they wanted to change the child’s custody in the divorce paperwork in order for them to be eligible. This stuff is barely the school district’s business let alone the UIL. They’re going too far.

I'm sure the Angleton-LaPorte will be another close one this year. K-Park losing Gilliam was a major loss for them. He shared 1st team all district with Duron. I don't know what they have at QB this year. Doesn't Friendswood always have huge lineman? Angleton has played them a lot over the years and they're only 27 miles apart. Curious to see what Crosby has this year. They lost Yarbrough but may get better play at QB.

Here’s the way I have to view the trade. Micah Parsons is a great edge rusher, no doubt. However, the Cowboys couldn’t stop the run. Parsons has to figure into that equation somewhere. How many teams make the playoffs or win SBs without Parsons? Dallas needs to stop the run and got a good run-stopper in Clark plus two #1 draft picks. We’ll see how that works out but the potential is there. Can Parsons put the Packers over the top? That remains to be seen too. Game 4 will be interesting. Just me, but I look for Parsons to put a late hit on Dak. Oh yeah, I forgot about the $42 million in cap space.

Correct. But, like @tvc184 and I have both said, all it takes is one disgruntled person to raise a stink, and it starts the wheel. The Kennedy vs Bremerton case set new standards that are a little more lenient than some Lemon rules in the past. But, it’s still a hodge podge of rulings. To me, the pregame prayer should be considered ‘enshrined by tradition’ like legislative meetings, and swearing on the Bible. It’s been going on for as long as probably anyone can remember. You have the honor guard with the flag procession/display, the National Anthem, and a prayer. It would take a school district wanting to pay for the fight and hassle of a possible lawsuit—which is a shame that one person could do so much damage to something that’s almost ‘sacred.’ Again, that’s just me. (Not sure how I got this so far away from your original thread topic. I’ll stop. Sorry!)
