Astros win a couple and lose a couple. Some days pitching is good but poor offense. Some days offense is good but pitching is bad. Sometimes both are ok. As of today 5-21-25 they are an average team Meyers, Pena, 3rd baseball are hitting pretty good Main problem is they can’t find a catcher, 1st baseman, 2nd baseman, and DH that can hit. As of today Alvarez is a big disappointment as well as the 1st and 2nd baseman they aquired Hopefully they will get it going
-
Brown was due for a stinker game.
- Today
-
3 dingers still lose 8-4. Pitching not too good today. Paredes 2 dingers 6 last 9 games.

Understood. Most people around town who know him don't believe he intentionally wanted to harm the kids. He's just a guy who's passionate about the game and the program and kids and values toughness because that's what was taught to him in the program. He just went too far this time and I don't think he was aware of the harm it was causing the kids at the time. Lot of folks will say he "should've known" and I don't disagree with that but we've all probably had moments where we weren't aware of things we "should've known".

I watched a number of his games when he coached at Kirbyville and then watched a few of his games when he coached at Anahuac. When I interviewed him and watched those games I always thought he was a very promising young coach and an outstanding young man. I believed Coach Neace first hired him in Kirbyville before he left for Newton. When he became athletic director in Anahuac he immediately called for Mr. Brown. He is a little different type of coach from Joe Sigler but I bet everyone is pleasantly surprised with his results.

Never want to be in the news. Especially with injuries to young kids. Going to be difficult to recover professionally (at least in education).

Not exactly clear on what you're saying, but my doctor at MD Anderson told me the research they do relies heavily on AI and is one of the reasons that treatment and cures for all sorts of maladies, not just cancer related, are being developed so quickly and so successfully in this modern age. Diagnostics and imaging play a huge role too. She told me that a program that came out in 2023 (Google's AI platform, I think) detected lung cancers with higher accuracy than human doctors. While I don't have lung cancer, I can see where that would be a huge benefit to mankind in general. I like having the human element be the "final check" for anything AI, but to discount it totally would be foolish.
-
I dont like using AI for medical things like charting. The medical professional doesn't have to think critically. I do my own care plans. Using AI to post videos about what people are supposedly saying, that is incorrect. Sometimes answers that you get from AI are wrong.

1. I have no doubt this has happened to me, if not with Siri then with Alexa. 2. Very good point - totally agree

Hopefully this works out for them, does not seem like it was a very smooth process throughout. I can't believe Jackson did not get it with him having been there for awhile and having the most success out of all the programs in his tenure. It would have made more sense if they wanted to keep it a basketball guy, but to just separate it from a sport completely is a strange look.
-
I’m assuming he won’t be an assistant anymore.
-
Isn't he a assistant coach? How is that gonna work being the boss of his head coaches he assists?
-
He is not. He is standalone AD and will be hiring a head basketball coach
-
I watched it yesterday. Extremely nice digs 😎
-
Is he also the new basketball coach??
-
Saw on FB that John VanDover has been hired for the role of Athletic Director at Central Heights

There's nothing else to it other than some baseless gossip from some random guy who called and told it to the page that's publicizing this info. He doesn't have any prior incidents because this is his first year coaching. He's a hometown guy who played for coach Rob 5 or 6 years ago. Went and had a good college carreer at Texas Wesleyan and came back and helped coach us to the state game his first year as an assistant coach. It hurts my heart that we're losing him but I hope he learns from this mistake and doesn't have any other incidents if he's allowed to continue coaching somewhere else. From what I hear he was just basically trying to put the young 6th graders through something simular to what him and his classmates went through and the workout was optional.

All good points and AI is great technology. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. My wife and I were discussing how we had heard that Siri was eavesdropping. We started talking about generators and she noticed later on, when she was on an internet page, the border ads were about generators. We thought that was too weird to be coincidental. Try it sometime. It may not be instantaneous, but it happens. My biggest problem is that great inventions seem to invite evil applications ie….card scanners invite criminals to use them to steal identities. This has happened to me.
