Only thing I've seen is picking winners and over a 5 year average its just just shy if 81% in the regular season...playoffs go down to just above 64% which makes sense... I'd probably have to have an excel wizard do some work to get a variance based on the predicted spread

Government Shutdown

The right is offering a clean bill. The left, who as you point out has zero branches of control, is trying to hold the bill hostage to force liberal policy. But it's the right's fault. It's wild watching you guys spin it. It's gonna hurt y'all in the long run, though. The fringe lunatic left are the only ones actually buying it. I guess it makes sense that the party of entitlement thinks they're entitled to get something they want out of an unrelated bill to keep the government open and then blames everyone else when they don't get what they want.

Bayou Border Battle 4 Schedule, Nov. 28-29

I imagine better opportunities could have come up for that weekend for those teams. In Barbers Hill's case, they are playing in the McDonald's Invitational the weekend before. May be about too many games for them. West Brook is playing in the Texas Jamboree that weekend vs. Dallas Kimball. That is a much better deal for them. Port Arthur Memorial is also playing in Texas Jamboree vs. Houston Washington. Silsbee is playing at Texas Jamboree as well. I believe all those schedules are more than sufficient to explain why they are not playing at Border Battle. As for Lumberton, again they may not have been invited. -
I'm not downplaying the fact that the pirates have improved this year, but the best wins on their schedule are against 3A teams with 3-5 records. Most of those matchups against weak 3A schools were somewhat competitive, too. two wins against 4A squads with a combined 1-15 record. A 42-6 loss against the only good opponent faced all year. If there was a matchup between HJ and Shepherd tomorrow in the pickems I would pick Shepherd, but nothing that's happened this year screams that Shepherd is lightyears ahead of the Hawks to where anyone should be 100% confident that the pirates would win that matchup. I'm comfortable saying that if the two teams swapped schedules they'd come really close to swapping records as well.

Either go hungry or die for lack of medical care. Those are conservative policy talking points. Democrats are wiling to sacrifice short term pain for long term healthcare policy. Trump doesn’t care. The Post is slowly becoming a mouthpiece for Bezos. I canceled my subscription.

I would like to know why they are not going back either then, but I am a Raider fan so those are not my teams that I consistently follow. -
They aren’t unless they meet the rules, and then it’s a small percentage. Trump gonna br starving Americans. And before you blame Schumer or whoever, the Weasel has all three branches in control. If him or Hand Puppet Mike Johnson knew how to lead, a bill that would pass the Senate would have been submitted. Trump thinks he can starve people and blame the other guy. We’ll see. [Hidden Content] I don’t agree with the thesis, but 1.5 million is 3.4% of total recipients, and the vast majority of those 1.5 million meet current criteria for non citizen qualification. Want to start some chaos? Get 44,000,000 people hangry.

Correct, but when the left leaning Washington post tells Democrats to stop holding the government hostage, you may have a problem..... From the article..... "The right answer is to reopen the government with a clean funding bill, ideally for a full year, to get food stamps flowing and federal workers back in the office, and then have a debate about ACA subsidies," the Post editorial said. "Democrats openly acknowledge that they refuse to do this because it would mean giving up their leverage. If they persist, it could mean families start to go hungry." [Hidden Content]

4th place team, they are awful. College Station though is a bad draw for them, first team with any legit club players they have played since August.

There are a few other schools that have played in this event in the past (West Brook, Silsbee, Port Arthur Memorial, Barbers Hill) that are not playing this year. Do they not carry enough cache to get in? -

Barbers Hill District Champs, Again!
GeauxDawgs replied to Separation Scientist's topic in High School Volleyball
They have won district dating back to 2018 when they were actually in a district with an equally talented team in kingwood park. The current district does them no favors playing weak competition for two months of the season. -
Beats the heck out of an ugly loss...

Did not think about that, I figured the best basketball coach in the area (according to some posters) would be able to get in any tournament/showcase he wanted lol -
Still haven’t learned. Anybody can find a poll they like. [Hidden Content]

Maybe they didn't get invited this year. -
For the size of your house, that is not a bad bill. I'm single and mine is 1700 sq ft and highest in summer is 200ish. I do wish we had options.

Lumberton is not going to this again this year? It has been one of their tougher games on the schedule last couple of years. -

I'm sure that the coaching staffs along with several community members would be ok with traveling a little further to play similarly sized schools rather than playing against schools with potentially double their enrollment and potentially being non competitive in literally most UIL competitions. Just saying.

I know some people who live in Houston and they tell me that can be a pain in the you know what. Your house is way bigger than my needs, actually, so is mine. I do like the space for my antiques, which I use, not cover with a sheet. I’m stuck with Entergy. I can’t imagine shopping around.
-
Right at 2000 sq. ft. Why?
-
How big is your house? My house is 3300 square feet and my light bill in the summer is 350. I live in Houston and we have more than one energy company so we get to shop around to find the best rates.
