Sounds like someone in the Kountze basketball program ought to get off the site and square up the Yates deal.  Gonna' be somebody standin' around when they expected to play a warm-up game if not! 8)

Hey now were down to 20+ from 30!! Getting some where now...but yea they have nothing to gain from playing the number one ranked 2A team in the state..most ppl don't remember but back in 03 Kountze was #1 in 3A and was playing in the Fort Worth Tournament championship game against 2A #1 Argyle.. .we only won by 6 or close to it..Im just saying on any given day anything can happen..

Lol. I had to put my two cents in on this one. GREAT for Kountze if they get to play Yates. Bigger and faster team that plays the same style as them. Would be fun at least. Plus, this game will cool their heads off for playoffs after a easy run in district. Good playoff preview for Yates. Solid warm up game against a very good team that will run with them. Could get them ready for a really good Silsbee team. I hate to say it but to say Kountze would hang tight with Yates is kind of overboard. 3A school on a 4A/5A level of play and size. Way too big and would press a young Kountze back court like crazy but I guess anything can happen.

Good analysis. I'd personally like to see a Silsbee/Kountze rematch.  ;)

Can't disagree with that. Cross town rivals. Two great teams. Silsbee wants some more off Kountze and I would think the Lions would love to play them at full strength.

More like friends than rivals lol ive seen several Silsbee players tagging the Kountze players telling them to eat on Yates lol
