BC may get upset by HJ. I think that HJ will be a sleeper team in the district with third place potential

HJ upsetting bc? I don't know about that I was thinking more like silsbee or hf but hey it's baseball anything is possible one thing is for sure it'll be an interesting run for playoffs

Yes, that is true anything can happen. Im sure HF will have a good run as well, but Jeffcoat has to be consistently on when he takes the hill. Lets face it, he seems to get frustrated extremely easily and when i was attending one of Hamshire Fannett's scrimmages, he gave up a homerun and to me it looked like he fell apart extremely quickly. And if i remember correctly he hit the next batter. Pitching depth will be key for HF

Rumor has it Jannise shows his emotions on the hill as well. Herring and Johnson will also play key roles on the bump as well

I personally don't know much about any 3 of those. But I have heard rumors that Jannise is on track to break the UNBREAKABLE record at HF of strikeouts set by Phillip Lynch
[/quote]

I know this should probably be on another thread but with all the talk of the strikeout record at HF what is the record? And also where did Logan Johnson rank on that list? He had a ton of K's it seemed like.

I believe that it is 135or 136, I may be wrong. Logan never had a bunch of strike outs he just had the ball put in play to eaves team in 09. I do know for a fact that he is the current leader for wins in a season.

I guess I must be mistaken because it seems his senior year he had several games with 12-15 K's in a game. I think he had 16 one night against WOS at HF, he had a pile of them the night he lost on the 1 hitter at BC when Menard hit the walk off HR. I could be wrong though????

Apparently you haven't seen Jeffcoat pitch other then that one night he had a no hitter and a save with a ERA of 0.00 and no hits so far as of regular games started

I'm really not sure either. He may be up there. I'll ask him next time I see him. Wish you could have rephrased that heartbreak walk off by menard too lol some of us here are still sensitive when it gets brought up.

My predictions

1.BC
2.Silsbee
3.HF
4.OF
5.HJ
6.WOS

I could certainly see a couple of upsets along the way, for sure. BC vs Silsbee will be a war as always, BC can pitch and Silsbee swings it well, look for fireworks. HF is always a tough game, they always swing it well, if their pitching stays healthy and stays solid they will be a tough matchup for anyone. OF will benefit greatly from their new coach, he is a small ball specialist and will have those guys ready to play. HJ also is heading in the right direction, a nice influx of some talented younger players will keep these guys in a bunch of games and certainly make them a thorn in the side of every team in the district. WOS will struggle but they will also play you down to the last inning, new coach has them playing the game the right way.

Looking forward to some excellent and exciting games. I have been watching a bunch of these guys since they were very young and it puts a smile on my face to see them play well for their respective schools. I for one am hoping for an injury free year for all and a deep playoff run for 21-3A.

Probably no more sensitive than the folks from WOS are when they remember that ABSOLUTE MISSILE Tommy Wendlent (sp?) hit as a walk off against them the same night Johnson a gazillion K's. That should put a smile on your face!! :D

Not really sure why you pointed out Jeffcoat?  But H-F has many great pitchers at the moment.  I have seen all of their games so far.  Jannise threw very good against Lumberton, struggled a little early with control against buna though but came back and threw strong.  Jeffcoat may have struggled in the scrimmages, but considering all the time that everyone had with the rain he never threw bad. Jeffcoat had a no hitter against Kville, he through very good and our defense and offense backed him up.  Both sophmores Herring and Johnson had very good games. Herring threw to Coldspring the team that knocked HF out of the playoffs first round last yr and he had a shut out.  Johnson had a no hitter to buna going into the 6th, and that was even after his playoff run with the basketball team ended. Jeffcoat ended up relieving him later and picked up a save.  Brooks came in the 7th against Buna Monday who was also on the basketball team and his stuff was pretty nasty.  I am still waiting on Wendling to make a comeback to the mound.  He threw very good his sophmore year and hope to see him soon.  So I believe the pitching staff is going to be just fine it is very deep with a few other relievers.

In my opinion
BC
Silsbee/HF
Orangefield/HJ
WOS

You are right that does help to remember that in the extra innings, but a win against bc that year would have been nice too. :'(
