EC Sutherland is who decided this, spoke to a few of the EC board members. I am hoping Coach Sutherland has a change of heart.

Heard at the Football game the other night that East Chambers does not want to continue to play HF in the Rice Bowl any longer. Not sure the reason besides HF winning the last 3 years. I think before the last 3 games that EC won many years. The kids will be sad, but it is what it is.

Since this is the 50th anniversary of East Chambers Buccaneers Vs. Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns (AKA Rice Bowl) Does anyone have the all time record of this rivalry game? Any history anyone has will be cool to see. Who will win the 50th "football" meeting of these two schools? Rivalry games seem to always bring out the best for both teams...probably will be closer than most expect is my prediction. Since it will be at Longhorn Stadium I will give it to the Longhorns by 10.

I understand Gilmore's vote against. He is the other candidates brother-in-law. Probably would have been more appropriate to not vote at all for or against Jehling. For the other member Mott, not really sure why he voted against, unless he is friends with the other candidate or has some kind of agenda. Votes from a school board should always be what is best for the kids. It does not matter now, Coach Jehling is the man at HF and it looks like the community is behind him. They have some work to do!

Saw this on Facebook (great job HJ, maybe other programs can help?): The Hardin Jefferson Athletic Booster Club executive board has voted unanimously to make a monetary donation to the Deweyville Athletic Department to aide Coach/AD Lance Dale assist his kids with meals, water, or other items he deems appropriate. I can say BY FAR this is the best money we have spent in the history of our club. If you can help please contact Coach Jamie Bush Hansen, Coach Megan Rowe, or Coach Jared Sloan please see below post on what is needed and what you can do to help.

They plan on being in here every day. Too much pollution is what a coach told me.

I just looked up the law. It says not only does the school board member has to resign, but the new school board member that is replacing the exiting board member must be sworn in before the employee is hired. Very interesting info. Not sure what the rules are at HF for replacing board members, but if they have to wait until the next election to replace a board member then I seriously doubt this is done all the time. I do not think any district wants to wait until an election to hire there AD and Football Coach. I do like this rule, it keeps monkey business out, and hiring process fair. I was told that he has family on the school board which would prevent him from being hired. He would be good, but he is doing great things in Deweyville. I do not know if this is true or not, but that is between the 2 family members I guess?
