1. HF made great improvements tonight. We played very well and held PNG several series. Still had problems rapping up when  we had someone for a loss. There was not a huge touchdown play given up which is an improvement from last year. They say you always improve when you play a tougher competitor. So, HF truly improved tonight. As far as PNG goes, I think they will not repeat the 2-8 season from a year ago. They look much improved. I am not sure which quarterback is which, but the number 19 seemed a lot more comfortable in the backfield. Number 16 had to keep running to the sideline to make a pass. 19 put the ball in the perfect spot many times. His receivers did not help him much. The number 19 had a height advantage that seemed to favor him so much more in the backfield. I know which quarterback I would go with. Have a great season PNG.
 2.

did i hear correctly that next year they will have smaller schools playing one another ? i guess if a school is like 450 that will be schools that same size , instead of a school that is 450 playing a school 1004 ? im freaking out that they will have 4 schools coming out of one district going too the playoffs .
I do not like that 4 teams already make the playoffs in 4A and 5A. But not they are going to split classifications into Division 1 and Division 2 and take 4 teams from each district. What a joke!!! New AD's all over the state are going to look good bringing teams to the playoffs that haven't been in forever...think about it. There will be at least 1 district somewhere in the state that has 5 teams. You could possible go 1-9 and make the playoffs.
It just adds a week. But what if that 5 team district have 4 of the best teams in the state. Then they will have a chance to prove themselves in the playoffs or go home.
 3.
Why does every 21-3A thread turn into a Silsbee/HJ pissing match? This crap is getting old. If you boys want to argue about Silsbee/HJ, then start a separate thread and please reserve the 21-3A threads for 21-3A talk.
+1
 4. If a kid wants to be a part of a team, then he needs to be a part of the team. The rest of the team worked hard to get ready to play. There is nothing wrong with requiring the one that sat out to work hard to prove he wants to be a part of the team. No free rides. Winning is a commitment. There is nothing wrong with seeing how committed he is.
 5. I would imagine the Cowboys don't want to practice in any more bubbles since that collapse a few years ago. They would probably feel safer in the domes stadium. Smart of Jerry to get a School District to pay for most of it.
 6. Hf 3-0 in their scrimmages today.
 7.
21-3a is only wide open in spots 3 and 4. It never matter who wims district for silsbee and wos. It seems for the past 5 yrs silsbee only Plays Huffman. Wos d2 so they never have a chance to meet up later in the playoffs. Im not a fan of all the d1 and d2 splits.
Next year Silsbee will probably be in a more competitive larger schools district.
 8.
Does HF have Jordan Brown coming back or did he graduate? He was a hard runner last year.
Does EC have Roberts still there?
 9. I think it was filled by a coach with 30+ years experience. Trying to find out the name.
 10. Freshman quarterback should get some good experience for the future.
 11.
I think they will battle for the 4th playoff spot, throw in BC RB out for the season, that last spot is up for grabs now.
I agree with you.
 12.
I know that HF will have a good soph class coming up and with some upper class-men to lead the pack, they could be very competing team in the next couple of years.
They have paid their dues. Hope you are right.
 13. 1. Silsbee 2. WOS 3. Orangefield 4. HF 5. Bridge City 6. HJ 7. Buna
 14. Ok Thanks. I though I had lost some good Karma. That explains it.
 15.

Talking with some people I hear the HF has a good bit of young talent starting with K. King (QB). They will play in a district with 2 of the best teams in the state. They also have a big young TE who should be a good one. Could this be the year that HF turns the corner to becoming relevant again????? Thoughts?
The loss of the great Dave Westfall is going to hurt the Longhorns
Thanks, Who?
 16.
We are experiencing some server issues with the database and it's backup system. This last situation cost us 10 days of data. We have made some changes that should keep us from losing that much data again, but there are no guarantees. Our owner, Jordan Wilson, is about to send out a mass email to all of our members to apologize for these problems and inconveniences, to explain what is going on, and what our plains are for solving these issues which could include moving to another server and using a different type of software. We apologize to everyone and ask that you be patient with us as we work to solve these issues before football season begins.
Thanks
 17. Some kids are great a football, but never really like it. Go enjoy what you like to do.
 18. The Horns are building a great nucleus. The program is heading in the right direction. The problem is that they are in a good district. Keep building and next year when 3A is split they will be back in the playoffs, if it does not happen this year. If they start games well and don't get down if a bad thing happens, then of course it is possible to turn things around and pull out some great wins. I remember the couple of 3-7 & 2-7-1 teams in the eighties, and I remember the turn around. This is very similar. Go Horns!
 19.

Shorter drive to Baton Rouge than to College Station or Austin. Johnny Jones played on a final 4 team at LSU in '81 and asst coached on another final 4 team there in '86.  He has brought some energy back into the program and people are starting to get excited about basketball again.  They have a great legacy, but frankly have been pretty bad in recent years.  Recruiting will fix that, and so far it looks like Jones may be the guy to get them back on the right track  again.  And he's from just down the road in Deridder. 21. Good Luck Coach Sanders! So that makes H-F and Orangefield till looking for a coach?
 22. You can't force/pressure a kid to participate in 7on7. So if they are riding with the Coach then that can be seen as being pressured to participate. It has to be completely volunteer or it can be viewed as being an illegal practice.  Do you think they are talking about anything besides game plan on the way to the game?
