Understood. Pretty sure they have not played a game yet.

They've played plenty of games in the Slot-T. Some with DuBois calling the plays and some with Crueder/Trahan attempting to call the plays. The latter two didn't get the concept that well and it destroyed the offense. Look for DuBois to get them back on track

Got it. Dubois used "rhyme and reason", Crueder/Trahan "just guessed and called random plays with no logic or forethought". Crueder/Trahan "did not get the concept" and got their jobs how?

Very Good Question. Trahan was promoted from girls softball coach to football oc with zero experience  so he could replace Crueder.

Which one are you , Trahan or Crueder ?

Trahan has been a football coach at Vidor for awhile... I mean should there never be a first time offensive or defensive coordinator? Should a HC always have head coaching experience????

You would literally run out of head coaches as they retire if they had to have experience as a HC.  If some kind of stipulation per school district.. some schools would have to be willing to accept a HC with an extremely poor history of success due to small applicant pools.  What if the only applicant with HC experience is 4-46?  That's better than an applicant with coordinator experience on a state championship team?

Every coordinator.. every head coach.. every coach.. was a 1st timer once upon a time.  Sometimes you gotta take a chance on it turning out ok.

This forum is literally turning into Facebook.  My post was in response to anyone that might think experience takes precedence. By the way.. it's not always smart to assume posts are sarcastic.  Especially on here.  And also considering that no response was given to a post before mine responding to the same statement in a similar, but shorter manner.

"Zero experience"? Seems very plausible. Where did you get your valuable "experience" to be able to "assess coaches" knowledge"?

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
