This is going to be a dog fight.

Is it confirmed that the OF QB did break his leg during the HF game?

I think Orangefield will struggle to move the ball down the field. People always talk about our two RBs and rightfully so.. but the defense isn’t a joke.

As of last week Bellville has only given up 72 points.Compare that with WOS defense that only gave up 69 when they were making their state run.Pretty salty stats for Bellville.

On another note last night WOS/BC game there was a lot of personal fouls going on.Coach T called time with minutes left to talk to the BC coach. They decided not to shake hands at the end to keep any confrontations from happing and maybe causing some to being disqualified for the playoffs.Coach T's grandson plays for BC and he said he will be shaking his hand.

Yes this was unfortunate considering there is no rivalry between the schools.

Looking forward to getting the playoffs started. Bellville is healthy and ready to roll. I expect a heavy dose of Reece and Briggs, as well as Bellville's defense tryin to put a 0 on the boards for Orangefield.

Well mostly healthy if you don’t count our starting QB that was injured right before district. He is out for the year

They know they was going lose the head coach of bridge City made it clear that he was going to beat west orange no matter what was talking bad about west orange as well so he probably told his kids we have nothing to lose go out there and show what we made of and good at and that's of taunting other teams and try and get players kick out the game

They were. U watched it too!! Right now that offense doesn't fit them.u still have to have the personel to run that type of offense.i would've like to see BC go back to at least a 2 back set or wing T.i don't care what level it is. It starts at the line of scrimmage.and playing sound defense and special teams. It would be a start.

Back on topic.OF is going to have their hands full with Reece and Briggs. Not to mention their going to have to find a way to move the ball against that stingy defense.Just doesn't compute for a OF win.

Yeah I imagine Orangefield is gonna try and keep our offense off the field, but if they can’t throw the ball then they will be in a bind. Good news for Orangefield is you pretty much know and see the Bellville offensive scheme in practice all the time. With the exception of Bellville will go in the shotgun more than years past.

Depends on how good of a O line they have. Our D line has played well this year. I think our freshman DE DJ Sanders will play D1 by the time he graduates. 6’3 300 and moves extremely well.

I believe OF has some athletes as well I heard one of them is going to Lamar and one is going to SFA. I believe it’s the running backs they have, but not sure

Nice! Yeah I don’t know much about Orangefield this year. I’ve just looked at their scores and I know they run the slot T.

Yeah we played them last week and they got a huge fullback at least 240 which is the one going to SFA and a fast halfback which is the one going to Lamar I think not for sure though. I’m pretty sure #32 is the big fullback and #40 is the fast back. Also bellville having those two running backs. Respect for both teams with both of them having talent.

I don't know.... our kids have been having problems with everybody this year.  I don't think y'all should feel special.

Our kids were up big against Tarkington in BC and still starting fights... I'm not sure what to think of it.

These two teams have met twice in their history. Both within the last 5 years.

2016 Bi District Bellville 45 Orangefield 21

2017 Bi District Bellville 35 Orangefield 14

I think this is the best Bellville team in several years, but this could also be one of the better Orangefield teams they have had. Definitely not your typical 4 seed.

    • but will he be doing contact football drills mid-season?
    • That was an awesome video!  I feel so proud of these young men.  They proved the doubters wrong.  Bellville should be proud, too.  I know it didn't end like they had hoped, but we've been there, so we can definitely empathize with them.  Great season, Brahmas!
    • Meh.. Everyone knows this. The kid that got injured wasn't lifting weights. Supposedly he was hit with a helmet in his elbow. In my opinion the kid shouldn't have been put in that situation. AD should've told the Varsity baseball players to sit that one out. I have no issues with the lifting or conditioning. However, anytime helmets/pads are on there is a higher risk of injury. This AD showed a total lack of respect for HIS baseball program.
    • Maybe.. however..  Many athletic director / head football coach have lost their job despite the athletic program as a whole being successful.. if the football team struggles.  On the other hand, when football teams are doing great but the rest of the program stinks.. AD/HFC still keeps their job. WOS.  Newton. .. programs as a whole were fairly weak during those many years of football power and very few people even knew it.  Or cared. Yet, AD/HFC kept their jobs for years. Meanwhile, I remember an AD/HFC at Barbers Hill lost his job after every program in the school won district championships and even had several team sports (baseball, softball, girls hoops, etc.) making runs at state.  But the football team was mediocre.  Fired. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that perception is reality.  And the perception is that your athletic program can suck as long as football wins.. it doesn't matter how strong the athletic program is if football sucks.
