”This ain’t last year”

Remember this year, What idiot would play game on Sunday night?

Prime time audiences witnessed the 2nd largest meltdown in FBS history.

I really think Aggies deserved the #1 spot.

November is looming on the horizon

You are  correct for once, both conferences put their bottom feeders on during brunch

big 12 Texas

Actually the big 12-2 put their bottom feeder on in prime time because they knew they couldn’t get ratings from their best matchup..

In an article explaining how Kansas/TCU was picked for the Primetime Nationally Televised game on Fox this week:

Here is where we get to perhaps the biggest reason KU finds itself in this unfamiliar slot.

Other nationally-televised games airing at the same time as KU's contest Saturday include No. 19 Michigan at No. 2 Penn State (ABC) and No. 11 Southern Cal at No. 13 Notre Dame (NBC).

With those massive showdowns likely to pull huge numbers, it may have been prudent for FOX to put its best Big 12 matchups earlier in the afternoon against less imposing opposition

.

They knew the "best" BDF matchup this week of tu/Okie Lite would have been a ratings disaster up against those two other games, so they conceded the week.

Oh, BDF... you never stop providing humorous entertainment for the rest of CFB world. Never change*

The two highest rated games last year didn’t involve the SECond to many conference.  But one did involve the same team that was involved in the two most watched games of all time.  You goobers stop talking ratings.  Because like merchandise sales, branding, and everything else screaming popularity, you are, always have been, and remain our b^t€h.  No matter how far you try to run (while still obsessing of course).

The clown already posted one from an aggy source.  Judging by the lame comments, some of those comments most certainly came from aggy.   But, but they’ve moved on!  From the conference they couldn’t crack, to another conference where they are decidedly mediocre at best.  Poooooor aggy

Am I the only one who saw the Texas hurry up offense stopped from snapping the ball until the OK St. player got off the field?

I didn’t see that play, but if the offense substitutes they have to give the defense a chance as well.

Exactly what happened.  We switched personnel on offense so referee has to hold snap until defense has a chance to sub.

I saw the same thing. They were given time to substitute, found themselves with 12, and the ref waited and waited until they ran one off. Oh well, it's not what they call, it's when they call it.

    • I'm going to agree with this. Individual drills would be fine, but a varsity baseball player should not be involved in full pad practices during the baseball season. Especially, if he is a contributing player on a playoff bound baseball team. This is irresponsible and selfish of the AD/HFC.
    • If there's a specific situation that started this thread, I don't know the details.  Nor do I care.  But I do have an opinion about what I'm gathering from some of the comments. My opinion: I do believe that an AD should leave the players of a particular sport to their respective head coach during that season.  The varsity players of that sport anyway.  I believe it's a little different concerning the sub varsity players of that sport.  If an AD/HFC decides to grab some JV baseball players for some offseason football stuff during the athletics period, I don't have AS MUCH of a problem with it.  I would still consider it a common courtesy to discuss with the head coach of that particular sport to consider their thoughts on it. I also believe that ALL athletes should be lifting and running all year.  When in a particular season, I believe that the head coach of that sport should control the reigns on that topic to implement some sport specific lifting/running during their season.  But all athletes should be in the weight room year round. As far as playing multiple sports?  I'm an advocate.  I know that the popular idea is for potentially good/great players in a specific sport to "focus" on that sport.  And I agree.. but focusing on one sport doesn't mean stopping the others.  It just means prioritizing time in a way that extra work is put into that specific sport.  After hours, weekends, holidays/summer, etc..  Just because you plan on making a push into college baseball (for example) doesn't mean you can't work on baseball during other sports seasons.  That's exactly what I did.. and countless others.  Plus, it's important to maybe learn how to be a role player in a sport that you're not the best at.  Because that's coming. That's my opinion.  And I come from an era where kids played multiple sports if they knew it would be helping.  Helping their classmates.. or just contributing to school pride.  I hate knowing that there are schools that could be much more competitive if their kids would just come out.  It's hard for me to understand if I'm being honest.
    • I wasn't arguing the point of how an AD keeps his job. The question was "what has happened to Jasper" as in their whole athletic department. They were much much better in those other sports even when football was successful. Not anymore. Something definitely has changed.
    • I just don't think it's as big an issue as what's being discussed. My opinion.
