Appears- come into sight; become visible or noticeable, typically without visible agent or apparent cause. Pretty sure that's what Falcon is saying. Im not defending anyone but the "word". The defense was NOT overwhelming in the games that WOS lost. They have been "good" all year but not "overwhelming". If they had played all year as they are now they would be undefeated. WOS is playing high level competition and shutting them down. They are playing better now than they were. Many WOS fans were railing away when they lost the 2 games earlier this year that the team was not as good as last years team. I have never heard of ANYONE in my life being offended when someone states that their team is playing better and is on a championship pace.
