Oct. 17 – Kirbyville at Buna (Predictions)

Recommended Posts

Mr jr. it seems to me its the Kirbyville posters on another thread that think the other teams in this district should just stay home.  The other teams can't even stay on the field with Kirbyville.  Heck Kirbyville is as good as a college team. I'm sure all the teams left on Kirbyville's schedule will show up for the games.

I personally think this will be the battle for #1! I can't pick this one, all I can say is the boys from Buna are very hungry! That being said kville is very good ball club! This one could go either way, the winner goes to the boys who want it more! Good luck to both teams, this will be a very good game!

Kirbyville 35
Buna 34

Comes down the a last-minute score! And let it be known, I am rooting for Buna. Lol
I'm debating whether I should watch Woodville/Anahuac or come to this game!

I was thinking the same thing about EC/Hardin game. Maybe they can move this game to Saturday like the rest of the SEC games and we can all watch it.

Been a Buna boy all my life and have watched a lot of Cougar football and this Buna team is one of the top two teams out of Buna I have ever seen no doubt. Big up front on both sides of the ball, speed all over the field, and just play technically sound football all the way around. I have heard a lot about Kirbyville and they sound very evenly matched and almost mirror each other in all aspects. Who ever wins this ball game is the district champs, with that said giving a slight advantage to Buna because it is at home. A close game cant even call a score figure not to be extremely high scoring cause both there defense like to bring the wood should be a dandy!!!!

leave it over there!  I agree it was a stupid statment.  Some of the responses to it have been equally as ignorant!

    • That's an interesting take, but considering that an incumbent enjoys a HUGE advantage historically, I think Covey came pretty close to an upset. I don't care one way or the other - the biggest reason being that I live in Hardin County. But I have to think the Trump endorsement got Covey that close in the first place. His only recognition was on a very local level, virtually unheard of before the Trump endorsement. Otherwise, he probably would've lost by thousands of votes instead of a few hundred. Just my observation.
    • I think the interesting point is this… Trump backed candidates do better when Trump is on the ballot. Back in March Covey was up by 3%, and that skirt from Jasper pulled about 10%… and most people believed that her voters would go directly to Covey. Conventional wisdom was that Covey would be up by 10-12 points if all things went according to the pattern from March. That just didn’t happen. Typically turnout is lower in runoffs than in the primaries, and my guess is that Phelan had fewer votes this time around than last, but covey had WAY fewer votes. A friend of mine has been watching a similar runoff in central texas, and the results were similar. The MAGA guy just didn’t turn out the votes this May.    My opinion is that a large portion of the support these Trump guys are just that…. Trump supporters. They’ll vote down ticket according to MAGA directives when Trump is on the ballot, but when they can’t vote Trump, they just don’t show up at all.

    • Then you should have known lots of people said the exact same thing when the alcoholic Democrat Ann Richards was elected way way back in the day. Texas has become redder and redder ever since. People, especially blacks, are waking up and realizing the Marxist Democrats are destroying them. Feel free to hold your breath waiting on your dream to happen though. That would be fun to watch, LOL.
    • I don’t think anyone thinks y’all are short on pitching. But 7 pitchers that can go 7 innings in the Regional Finals is a bit of a stretch I would think. I think that’s why he made the joke. Let’s just hope that this weather allows us to play a normal baseball game and not fight through mutiple rain delays every night.
