Newton....

Recommended Posts

3 of 5 OL coming back. Elam, Calum Foster, Gabe Foster will man the backfield with Jace Thomas as well. Have all but one back in secondary from last season. Replacing both DEs should be really good on defense fast and physical as usual. Offense will roll along just like they have for the past 60 years or so. Can't wait for week 1 I'm fired up about it

One thing I failed to mention.......

Evans uses a lot of stuff he got from Barbay. So the traps, tosses, play action ..ect, is something they've seen before and can get a true look in practice.

The "wrinkles" Newton has added isn't something that's gone unseen either.

This game, no-doubt, will be a battle and will be known as "The game that should of been."

Just another year with another d1 talent and looking to win a state title , next year is the year we are worried about this team is loaded with experience.

I hear ya. Those seniors to be we're all sophomores a few years ago and they were good then.

This is the first yr in a while we've had multiple D1 talent.

LB/S will go somewhere.
Two WRs will.
QB will.
CB will.

We are planning on dressing out 60. No one will start both ways but will get PT.

We'll see how that goes.

Newton should get another good lineman back that was hurt last year before the season started and did not play, he will be a
senior this year.
One thing for sure, if we come out (win or lose) of preseason without injuries, we will be ready for 3A div.2.

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
