Can't lose more than  0-10.
I know of several coaches that went 0-10 in a season but bounced back at the same school with winning seasons the following years.

Dang,  thought this was America were you pay your taxes for schoolin and sports and could complain.

I guess you make the rulz.  You want my taxes.
You might feel differently about the situation if we dig into where you work and the quality of your work and the community judges you on whether they think you are successful.  And if they don't think you are doing well enough, the level of complaining reaches a point where it affects people's livelihood.

This is about more than just grumbling under your breath or friendly banter on a sports forum.  This group, I assume you are one of them, went after this man's livelihood which has an affect on his life and the lives of his family members.

Your assuming I am not in a public light.  If I don't do my job well, people could die.  Have yet to quit.

ive known Alvin for 40 years as a classmate, friend, team mate, hunting buddy, and as AD and head coach, just a huge loss
as I see it. he chose to resign from this job. reasons do include money {lowest paid in district},assistant coaches pay, also
lowest in district,in turn he looses quality assistants. reasons also included a relentless amount of calls from parents to the board, school, and his office. some just cant believe that the talent is not here to be successful.  there is talent here ,but numbers are just smaller than other programs, making your overall pool of kids just smaller.
just watching the last years games proove this out. the 07 and 08 years had several college players on these teams. look how many college players since ,I cant think of any.  07 ,08,09 teams had these guys; allen ward-texas state, cody hussy-lamar,manley-Tulane,jacob hanna-lamar,jesse sparks-lamar,kyle Gilliam-lamar,mark murrell-lamar,anthony beard-smu-lamar, that was talent ,not to say there is not talented young men in the program today and also in the youth programs, because there is,but the constant pressure and arguing by certain parents and others have made a difficult decision a little easier for Alvin to make. I know someone will get a fine person and coach to help their program. hope Lumberton gets a new coach with thick skin, hes going to need it
I agree with almost everything you said.  I don't agree that money has anything to do with it.  If coach put 10 reasons on paper of why he resigned, I don't believe his pay would be on that list.  I also don't agree that Coach Credeur resigned because of the constant loss of quality assistants.  Not denying that he lost them but he wouldn't leave because of that.  But the $ for the program and turnover in assistants certainly contributed to the losses.  And the losses contributed to the unhappiness of the parents which led to the phone calls.

So,  still have heard how technically he's a good coach.

FYI,  not really saying he's bad, but would say that he's done.
I haven't heard what your definition is of a good coach.  I would have to know what your criteria is.  He obviously isn't according to your criteria.

And your comment about him being 'done', that just shows me what kind of individual you are.  I know that at the end of each day, I can be happy knowing that my kids would be proud of my actions and my words that day.  Can you say the same?  Would your wife, your mom and dad and your kids be proud of that kind of statement.  That's pretty heartless.  And to be clear, Credeur is not done.  He is only done in Lumberton.  I'm happy for him.  I'm only sad for us and for our kids.

I ran no good coach off.  I've never said anything publically till today about Credeur.
I can bring up some past posts of yours during this past season where you made your opinion "public" on Credeur's coaching ability.

money wasn't everything to coach, but he told me that he sure would like his assistant coaches to have been paid more.
not only to keep quality coaches but to also be on an more even field with other programs, this is a fact. he was the lowest
paid head coach/ad in the district  and I know he coached 7 years with that fact. I know that several parents, who after coaching  2 are 3 years in youth football, flag and peewee and after helping their daughters in sports, think they can form groups that constantly call and complain and target a fine man an coach. these guys don't have a clue. some complained
about sports equality ,not just female to male sports but to all sports, complained football got to much attention, ect. like I always have said, this is the truth, its not the kids at fault ,it will always be the adults at the business of trouble.

My family moved to Lumberton a little over 5 years ago and I was so excited that Credeur was the football coach and the AD. I was also excited that my boys were going to get to play youth football. At the time the Beaumont program youth program had not started so neither of them had been exposed to the game. I grew up playing football, played in high-school and one year in college then came back to Lamar to play before the program disbanded. I tell you this only for context. I know what it's like to be around football at all levels. And I'll say this about the youth program in Lumberton...There are some good men teaching some sound fundamentals. But at the same time there are way too many who think they know football because they downloaded an offensive and defensive scheme off some internet site that was going to make them the next great youth football coach. They may even have a little success from it and now all of sudden they are experts and "know" how our middle school and high-school programs should be run. That progresses into calls to the real coaches with complaints about not running the right system or not doing this or that right. A coach would naturally believe these calls and complaints to be jokes. But these jokes don't quit coming and in fact  become more vile and "bullified." They become character attacks full of hateful lies. These coach wannabes convince others that they are in fact the holders of keys that will unlock the secrets of winning football games. These other's form small groups to get people elected to the school board and their stated intention being to run Credeur off. Any of this sound familiar? Well ya'll got what you wanted. Now what are you going to do? You probably don't have a clue. Or do you? Could all of this been started because of deeper agenda? Could it be that they want a man who will run things according to the way they want it run? To have a coach that will play their kids in the position they (the parent) deems necessary. Don't worry about the team and what's best for all. No little "Jonny" is going to play quarterback or linebacker (just name one other than the line) because that's where I want him to play. Never mind that he's really a lineman and would be a huge benefit to the team there. Our problems in Lumberton will not go away until the selfishness by so many gets under control.

Talked to his son today when he was eating at my work tonight and today was his last day in lumberton and no idea where he is going now
Pretty sure its Vidor.  Good for Vidor, Ltown is loosing a good coach and great person.  Someone mentioned parents...Yall may shoot me down but thats exactly right.  parents talking to board members and administrators caving in to board pressure.  Alvin will be much better off away from LISD politics.  The exodus from Lumberton may just be getting started.
Babin better stay put in Dville.

Raidergirl - just want some clarification on what you are saying is it that HC Credeur has no idea where he is going or was his son saying he (the son) had no idea where he (the son) was going. His son was on his staff, right? just for the record my son and some of his friends are friends with the son and they speak very highly of him too. (like father like son?)

I went up to his son last night at work since I saw this on here and I asked him if his dad was leaving Lumberotn and he said yeah and that yesterday was his last day. Then I asked "Where is he going now" and his son said they dont know yet.
And yes his son was on his staff last season but I forgot to ask if he was staying or not. I'm fixing to get on facebook and ask his wife and I'll let yall know if his son is staying.

    • Well, the ones who are upset by this are the same ones who can’t define a woman. There was another woman who everybody came down on for hunting. We are a nation of the offended.
    • For what it’s worth, polling after this came out show her with an 81% disapproval rating.  Only 21% of republicans said she’d be a good choice for veep, and only 28% of self-identified “very conservative” voters said she’s a good option.  Bragging about killing a dog apparently resonates poorly across political affiliations.
    • They don’t, and they won’t.  May not be an issue in South Dakota, but certainly is on the national stage.  Even my mother in law, who strictly watches OAN and thinks Trump is a great guy who’s never committed a crime in his life is completely disgusted by this.  I know about bad dogs, and don’t have an issue with what she did,  and I’m sure most of us on here agree.  But as is often this case, it’s not going to be our opinions that decide this election.  I thought she might be a valuable running mate that could bring in the female vote, but I’m hoping Trump has the sense to stay away from her now.
    • I like the approach, here it is, if you don’t like it don’t vote for me, it’s refreshing to see the Ronald Reagan approach. Not every statement needs to be based on a perceived reaction from folks. Don’t think for a minute democrats didn’t have this knowledge, just not the right time to use it, remember Romney and the dog carrier, they knew.
    • The year after he left DC spell had them boys physical… beat Roschon Johnson and the Indians at home. They were roughing him up all night long.
