bd31,you hit the nail on the head,period. thing about all this,they think they are correct ,no reasoning with them

money wasn't everything to coach,but he told me that he sure would like his assistant coaches to have been paid more. not only to keep quality coaches but to also be on an more even field with other programs, this is a fact. he was the lowest paid head coach/ad in the district  and I know he coached 7 years with that fact. I know that several parents, who after coaching  2 are 3 years in youth football,flag and peewee and after helping their daughters in sports, think they can form groups that constantly call and complain and target a fine man an coach. these guys don't have a clue. some complained about sports equality ,not just female to male sports but to all sports,complained football got to much attention,ect. like I always have said,this is the truth,its not the kids at fault ,it will always be the adults at the business of trouble.

ive known Alvin for 40 years as a classmate,friend,team mate,hunting buddy,and as AD and head coach, just a huge loss as I see it. he chose to resign from this job. reasons do include money {lowest paid in district},assistant coaches pay,also lowest in district,in turn he looses quality assistants. reasons also included a relentless amount of calls from parents to the board,school,and his office. some just cant believe that the talent is not here to be successful.  there is talent here ,but numbers are just smaller than other programs, making your overall pool of kids just smaller. just watching the last years games proove this out. the 07 and 08 years had several college players on these teams. look how many college players since ,I cant think of any.  07 ,08,09 teams had these guys; allen ward-texas state, cody hussy-lamar,manley-Tulane,jacob hanna-lamar,jesse sparks-lamar,kyle Gilliam-lamar,mark murrell-lamar,anthony beard-smu-lamar, that was talent ,not to say there is not talented young men in the program today and also in the youth programs, because there is,but the constant pressure and arguing by certain parents and others have made a difficult decision a little easier for Alvin to make. I know someone will get a fine person and coach to help their program. hope Lumberton gets a new coach with thick skin,hes going to need it                           

godogs you said a poster said God turned his back on our nation, post said we turned our back on God . btw ,its not a diety,like one of many He is the diety.  some people are just broke, if violence is in there mind there is nothing to stop this, to predict when or where one sick person might act in such a manner. pray for mercy,forgiveness,peace and strive to keep our children safe and morally sound. teach your kids to be gun safe, careful when driving-not texting,these things too can kill,  2,500 hundred such cases in texas this year related to deaths. imo, God is not punishing children for our narrow views and or lack of values, rendering judgement on the innocent, not that he wouldnt be just in judging those who have forsaken the laws of this christian nation and of His word, but the broke , sick minded people,lost without God commit such cowardice acts of their own free will. no religious or political debate by this post just a view of one that is concerned  for the future of our children, families ,friends and nation, Jesus forgive and bless us all

coach ,it seams that on this forum some people just cant stand others who have success. just wanted to say congrats on a fine year of football and winning the pee wee superbowl. congrats on your guys aau championship and thanks for taking interest in these other kids from ned,bmt,knz. just a great effort on all of your parts. c u next year coach just take it easy on those red raiders  lol

we played both of these teams this year. we where ahead of png-w until the last 3 minutes of the game, which they held us at there 21 yd line to end the game, they do have a very good team.  we played vidor -w in vidor and had a tuff time on offense against this team ,though we had about 209 yds and got to the 6 yd line but time ran out on a 2nd down at halftime. they also stopped us at the 2 yd line in the second half ( 38 plays  -209 yds rushing and passing ) though i think both teams have fine teams i have to give vidor the win, to much offense and a stout defense to go. score :  vidor  37  png  19

man oh man  ???  i agree lr33 just leave us out of this  and let football take care of its self and as for that scrimmage it was practice, both teams looked good. only thing being choked out was chris and myself with our respectful players and there issues.

just  got back from school , my daughter leslie beard just signed her nli  for lamar, from coach creduers  office.  coach wanted to go ahead and sign it just in case of the bad weather predicted for tomorrow. if everything works out, we will do the press thing at  school tomorrow, oh ,all her hard work means daddy want have to pay for her play and im all smiles about that ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Senior leslie beard, a track & field athlete from lumberton tx, will sign her NLI on thursday with the lamar cardinals.  since football  signings on wed would take priority, leslie will take care of her business on this thursday.  leslie hade a full offer also from the air force academy. other  offers she has recieved  was from the houston cougars, with baylor,sfa,shsu,nts, cornell,among others showing interest.  leslie just wants to stay close to home, plus lu coaches trey clarke & jake cohen made her fill wanted. leslie  also has tremendous grades & work ethic. some of leslie accomplishments are: in pole vault 2 - state pole vault finalist ( 5th place) 2 - junior olympic  national t & f  finalist  (omaha ,ne & norfolk vir.) 1- usatf  gulf coast regional champ 1- aau   national regional qualifiers champ 2 - time woodlands regional qualifiers champ 3- time district 20-4a champion-polevault 3- time regional finalist-4a 3-time super gold t&f team 2-clyde littlefield texas relays polevault finalist 1- taaf  state finalist relay at lamar, leslie will polevault & run sprints relays, & may work out in the long jump,which she did quit well in middle school

its for real , talked to anthony on cell phone & he told me lu still waiting for smu ad to sign release . its sitting on his desk as of about 1:00. just wanted to be home, thats it. 2 month  at smu taking classes & working out & practicing, just had to come home

there is still some paperwork that lu is waiting on from smu & what i understand some paper work has to go to ill. ,something about his letter of intent,not quiet sure.  as for as smu goes , anthonys main reason was he wanted to be at home period. he spent 2 months at smu & was doing good in class, all fresh had to attend.  he was also impressive at football time according to the coaches we have talked to. he liked the coaches & players & college , he just wanted to come home. this is the same reason that he did not sign with arizona,colorado,missouri, colorado state,wyoming .ect. he thought that smu was close enough home but he just could not  shake wantng to be closer to home. shsu & sfa are closer  & sfa is close to home, its just that he has so many freinds at lamar & plus he really likes the coaches ,coach mac, lb coach is really his favorite. no other reasons guys & when smu & other paperwork is done he will be at lamar for the next 4 years, he is eligible  for 4 years, he did not play at smu ,just enrolled . smu coaches have called many times to tell us that he is truely a talent  annd was  scripted in to be a big part of their defense this year, they are sick & so are we , as a family, smu told us to stick behind him ,& w are, we are buying tickets & lamar clothing , go cards
