  1. Great HS football game by both teams. As usual, it came down to a handful of plays. Can't say enough great things about Blake Bost slinging the ball around the yard and leading his team to overcome a 14-0 deficit. PN-G outscoring Ned 22-7 is not because of the referees. The PN-G TE made the catch of a lifetime. Good job. Congrats to all of the kids for playing your ass off and giving the fans a great game. Tip of the cap to Ned, nice field and terrific RB #10. Glad PN-G grabbed a TO and made some plays to get a W. Now, fist bump to the Ned fans, back to social distancing, and see you next year. Go Indians. Peace.
  2. Tip of the cap...good parenting is the foundation for children having an opportunity in life, e.g., having a shot at a college education. Regardless of color or economics, our society needs more of that...good parenting. Your parents and you made that effort and provided the foundation. Well done. Go Indians! Peace.
  3. Louis Farrakhan ring a bell? That clown preaches hate and racism. He preaches black superiority over whites and everyone else. 99.99% of African-Americans do not agree with Farrakhan. He is an extremist. Educated people of all races and ethnicities can see through the extremists regardless of color. Racism exists from all sides...white, black, and brown. As a society, we have made some progress, but we have a long ways to go. Everyone do your own small part for fairness and equality and we will get there. Help one another and stop tearing each other down. Go Indians. Peace.
  4. Joseph and Mary did not seek asylum in Bethlehem. They went to Bethlehem per a decree of Caesar Augustus. They had to travel to Bethlehem and register for a census. Perhaps your question is why did Joseph, Mary, and Jesus flee to Egypt after the birth of Jesus? According to the Bible, an angel appeared to Joseph and told him to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt to escape orders from Herod to kill all of the male infants in Judea. I have no idea if Joseph, Mary, and Jesus entered Egypt legally, illegally, or if it mattered. I do not know if Egypt had border protections or policies to secure its borders. I do know that Joseph, Mary, and Jesus left Egypt and returned to Judea (Nazareth) after Herod died. Will all of the undocumented visitors to the USA be leaving anytime soon? Just asking for a friend. Regarding the immigration issues facing the USA, I lean toward finding a path to citizenship for those that are here and enforcing border policies going forward. We cannot be a society with open borders. Too many variables regarding national security, economic stability, and sustaining the many different cultures that are vibrant in the USA. I am not an advocate for dividing families or putting mothers and babies in jail. Let's find a common sense way for creating a path to citizenship for those that are here, and then enforcing our borders in a sensible, lawful, and peaceable manner. Taking out the Iranian commando terrorist was a good thing. Iran understands one thing - force. Peace.
  5. Similar to being to the tallest midget. Go Indians...Go Coogs...Peace.
  6. Why did Herman give the double rods to LHN? Bad joke? I'm guessing that is not how the BMDs at UT-A want the HC to represent the flagship university. Unless he beats OU, gets double digit wins, and secures a NY6 bowl game, I see Texas parting ways with him. Most of the Texas Exes that I know want to give Herman the double rods. At least he gives the fans something to talk about. Go Coogs! Go Indians! Peace.
  7. I have friends and colleagues that are Texas Exes. They are divided about the future of Tom Herman. There are some with strong opinions about getting rid of Tom Herman now. They argue that he is in over his head, he oversold himself and his alleged culture for the Longhorn football program, and that his arrogance has worn thin with big money UT donors and the beat writers that cover Longhorn sports in Austin. The others want to give Tom Herman four years to establish a consistent 10-win program. They argue that last year's Sugar Bowl was proof of what is to come soon. My question is why should Tom Herman be treated any different from Charlie Strong? The expectations and job requirements are the same. Some would argue that Tom Herman has been given better resources compared to Charlie Strong, i.e., a new locker room, upgraded practice facilities, new and improved weight room, media room, and student-athlete study center. Are the Texas grads and fans on this message board wearing thin of Tom Herman? Do you want him gone? Is he being treated differently than Charlie Strong? If yes, what are the justifications for that? If you want him out, who do you replace him with as the next HC of UT? I have no dog in the fight. I'm a UH grad. Tom Herman did good things for the Cougars (22-4) during his short stay there. No sour grapes from me. He won games and moved onward and upward. I'm OK with that. Granted, he had some exceptional talents on the roster at UH, e.g., Greg Ward, Jr., Elandon Roberts, Kenneth Farrow, Tyus Bowser, William Jackson, Steven Taylor, Ed Oliver, Brandon Wilson, Cameron Malveaux, Adrian McDonald, Linell Bonner, Steven Dunbar, Matt Adams, and a rock solid and huge OL. Several of those kids played in the NFL or are still playing in the NFL. Maybe Tom Herman and UH were the right fit at the right time and things worked out. Not sure that I see the right fit at Texas after three years. What sayeth the UT grads and fans on this board. Go Indians...Go Coogs. Peace.
  8. Thank you for the update. Congratulations to Coach Smith and the Tribe. Here's to many more wins, Coach Smith. Go Indians. Peace.
  9. Ned in an upset. Regardless if it 2-0, 7-6, 35-34, or 72-69, Ned pulls the upset. As I said with PN-G, go line up and play. What do you have to lose? Throw the ball around, get the ball to your best play makers, and let it rip. On defense, get in position, and get as many of your friends to the football as possible. Just to be sure, ask Delbert Spell to help out. As far back as I can remember, if Coach Spell called the shots, the Ned defense always played bigger, faster, and better than they actually were personnel-wise. Even if Ned didn't win, they had a shot. Just ask him for 3 or 4 hours on the day of the game. It pains me to type this, but my family relative says I have to do it for good karma, and if I don't do it, that Thanksgiving turkey may taste different because it is her year to host, so, with my eyes closed, I'll type, Go Dogs. Peace. Go Indians. Peace 2x. 🙂
  10. Coach Faircloth has 5 DC (when including outright and shared): 2009, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Next year, he should have the most all-time wins as HC at PN-G. He needs a state championship to be in the conversation with Doug Ethridge. Even then, I would still take Coach Ethridge as the all-time Chief at PN-G. That said, I'm proud of what Coach Faircloth has accomplished at PN-G. Good man, he runs a clean program, and he uses his system to put our kids in position to compete and win a lot of games. Wish list - continue the streak vs. Ned and collect some hardware at the state level. If it happens, great. If not, the world will keep turning and life goes on. It's high school football. Vs FBM - go play the game. Play hard, play as fast as you can, and compete for 48 minutes. Line up correctly and get as many defenders to the ball as fast as you can. When the Indians have the football, march down the field, and score touchdowns. No one will beat FBM kicking FGs. Take a few gambles. What do you have to lose? FBM will bust big plays. They are a threat to win it all. Regroup, play hard, and give it your best shot. If you do that, nothing to hang your head about. Tall task vs. FBM. It could be similar to last year 53-14 or the Indians could get a ton of breaks and shock the world. 56-55 Indians...maybe I'm crazy and blinded by a purple haze. Go Indians. Peace.
  11. Ned fans complaining about coaching? Do you need to borrow some FOR SALE signs? I'll hang up and listen. Just asking for a friend. Go Indians. Peace.
  12. That PN-G defense is good enough to beat VHS year in and year out. It easily passes the eye test...the Indians have a better defense this year, but BH made the plays when they had to make them. Tip of the cap to them. Maybe VHS will learn to do that one year. Good game between PN-G and BH. Impressed with the QB @ BH. Smart play maker and tough to get to before he distributes the ball. BH is the best team in the district. Props to the Eagles. Go Indians. Peace.
  13. Enrollment numbers, transfers, and coaching. It is amazing that year after year, Katy ends up with an OL standing 6'4" - 6'6" and weighing 275 lbs. - 300 lbs. Year in and year out, Katy seems to find a RB or two that can play D1 football. The move-in program at Katy is second to none. NS is similar. My sister-in-law teaches at NS. Enrollment of 4,000+ kids and then the Mustangs sprinkle in 1 or 2 move-ins and transfers. Add good coaching to those ingredients and voila, you have a perennial top-notch program. Those programs have resources. They have athletes, money, facilities, solid coaching, and a commitment to staying on top. Go Indians. Peace.
  14. Coach Faircloth has onions...and they are made of brass. Go Indians. Peace.
  15. Fire up the iPads Indians and get this game turned around. Go Indians. Peace.
  16. Hagar - that is the best news the Indians have heard tonight...not much good news coming from VHS tonight in the first half. Go Indians. Peace.
  17. PN-G out of sync. No groove for the Indians. The game has the tempo and feel that favors VHS. Go Indians. Peace.
  18. BH may do this to several teams in the district...including PN-G and VHS. The Hill may be the best team in district. NHS just keep playing. You never know when 'ol mo comes your way. Even if the game gets away, keep playing and use the reps to get better. Props to BH. Go Indians. Peace.
  19. @ VHS is a tough place to get a W. Matthews knows the tendencies of Faircloth and vice versa. This season, the Pirates can throw the football beyond the line of scrimmage and the Indians are playing better defense. I think it comes down to the team with the least amount of mistakes (TOs and penalties) and the last team with the football wins. PN-G 21 VHS 20 How is the WiFi reception at VHS? The Indians need reliable WiFi for the iPads. Thx. Go Indians. Peace.
  20. Hagar...VHS having flashbacks to the mid-seventies, 1974-1975, when Ronnie Thompson walked the sidelines and had the Pirates throwing the ball all over the field? Good for VHS. Jeff Matthews is a good coach, teacher, and leader of young men. I know that he is not in love with the forward pass and he wants his kids to line up and move the pile, but I'm glad the Pirates are having success with a little offensive diversity. Go Indians. Peace.
  21. It has been a rough week for the alumni and fans of Port Arthur Lincoln. First, the passing of an all-time great in tennis and service to PAISD, Mr. Levi Adams. Second, the passing of a great football player, teacher, coach, and mentor, Mr. Richard Dick Williams. Two excellent role models for success in sports and life. A tip of the cap! Jobs well done and lives well lived! Prayers for the families. Go Indians. Peace.
  22. PAM and BU fans give me the tale of the tape...who do you give the edge to in the following categories: Offense: Defense: Special Teams: Team Depth: Skill Position Players: Coaching (Morgan v. Louis): Off Topic: School Marching Band: PAM or BU? This should be the SETX game of the week/band of the week...football fans and college scouts must see game of the week. Go Indians. Peace.
  23. I did not attend the game. Listened to the PN-G radio broadcast, only. PN-G missed Garth. According to the PN-G radio team, he will not return this year. Texas will honor his verbal commitment. He will heal-up, rehab, graduate, and focus on playing football in Austin. PN-G will miss him. Good size and athleticism, 2-years of experience, and a great teammate and friend to kids on the team. Hard not to miss those great qualities. All of that said, the Indians have to find the next man up. In the 2nd half, the PN-G OL created some running lanes. I heard the radio team mention the names Sasser, Dickerson, Callier, Lusauckis, Burt, and I am probably missing one or two other names. Breaking News: PN-G will not go undefeated. The Indians will have some growing pains. They have several kids that are worth watching. If the Indians avoid injuries, they should be a tough out in district. Bost can throw the ball around the yard, there are a few good WRs, and a solid rotating group of RBs. Remember the name Vaughn. JR RB. North/south runner and he runs with some meanness. I like the Vaughn/Connor combo at RB. Nice change of style at the RB spot. Everyone likes to hammer the PN-G defense. Per the radio team, the Indians were in position to make some stops, but the Silsbee RBs and WRs made some plays. The Tigers wanted to win, too. Their kids did not just roll over and let PN-G stop them. You tip your cap to the other guys and recognize that they want to play well, too. PN-G won because of depth. The Indians wore down Silsbee in the second half. The Tigers got tired and then turned the ball over. For PN-G, @ Huntsville and home for Tomball may be some of the growing pains that I mentioned above. Keep getting better Indians...stay away from injuries. Bost and Vaughn are some nice pieces to the puzzle. Just need to tighten up the secondary and keep playing hard on defense. Go Indians. Peace.
  24. Who from VHS transferred to PN-G? Thanks. Go Indians. Peace.
  25. We only do that to Nederland fans. (joke) 🙂 Go Indians. Peace.
