March 8,2026 — WTI Crude Hits $110. THANKS TRUMP
1989NDN replied to HangPDFs's topic in Political Forum
Other countries already have nuclear weapons capable of reaching the United States, including Russia, China, and North Korea. What is the cost of the defense systems designed to address those threats? Do we not already have and maintain defense systems such as the North American Aerospace Defense Command, along with missile defense networks, early-warning systems, and strategically deployed defense assets around the world? The United States spends billions of dollars each year on the military, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, the United States Department of Homeland Security, and defense contractors. The country has also monitored Iran for more than four decades. Yet the argument now being made is that the United States must assassinate Iranian leaders and seize Iranian oil because, if Iran obtains a nuclear weapon, it could not be stopped—despite the fact that the United States has long deterred nuclear-armed adversaries such as Russia, China, and North Korea. If our systems are good enough to monitor Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un, aren't they good enough to monitor the mullahs in Iran? -

President Trump has not ensured that Iran cannot rebuild its facilities—potentially even deeper underground. He often makes statements that sound definitive but are not supported by subsequent facts. In June 2025, following Operation Midnight Hammer, President Trump stated that B-2 stealth bombers and Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from Navy submarines had destroyed Iran’s nuclear program. Eight months later, we have Operation Epic Fury, and we are again told that Iran’s capabilities have been eliminated. All that bluster, yet current events suggest otherwise. Iran continues launching drones and missiles at Israel and at American assets in the Middle East. This raises a fundamental question: was Iran’s nucler program truly neutralized, or are we once again facing a situation where Iran is rebuilding its nuclear capabilities? We hear on the news that Iran still has uranium and no one can find it. Sounds like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Absent regime change in Iran, the underlying dynamics will not change. At the same time, the United States is unlikely to commit ground forces, as doing so would likely entail another prolonged conflict with years of uncertainty, solider deaths, and significant cost. If you don't care about that, then go sign up your children and grandchildren first...right after Barron Trump grabs a gun and a uniform. It's easy to support President Trump when its not your child or grandchild serving. Send me photos when your child or grandchild enlists. So, after all of President Trumps marketing bluster and salesmanship, the question remains: what has materially changed in Iran? What has been accomplished? Iran is unlikely to capitulate simply because the United States takes a confrontational posture. President Trump is a bully salesman. Iran is not dropping to its knees because President Trumps says so and continues to throw a fit. Meanwhile, the United States faces significant domestic challenges. The national debt continues to rise, the cost of groceries and fuel has increased, the American education system is in shambles, infrastructure requires substantial investment, no one can afford health insurance, and the country remains polarized along political, racial, religious, and socioeconomic lines. Remember when Republicans cared about those things? Me either. Instead, let's bomb other countries, assassinate others we don't like, spend until the printing press breaks, don't worry about the sh-tshow inside our own borders, and let's tell everyone that we are producing the Epstien files, but while you're at it, fire off another bomb in Iran. One more thing, keep all of those brown people in Mexico, Guatemala, Venezuela, or wherever the hell they're from. Let the good looking women in, grab'em in the p--y, and Make America Great Again. -

I think Talarico has a shot to turn that Senate seat blue, especially if the Rep candidate is Paxton. The RGV, Coastal Bend area, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and DFW may be the path to beat the old money in Midland-Odessa. As Reagan says, we will see. As mentioned above, the youth movement in Texas politics is here. Red-to-Purple-to-Blue.

With the changes in local sports reporting, who are the panel members for the WRS award? Does the PA News, Beaumont Enterprise, and Orange Leader still have sports editors and reporters? I know Bob West passed away. I don't know what happened to Tom Halliburton, Rush Wood, or Howard Roden. The local TV stations have sports directors and reporters. Are they on the panel? Any others? I'm not complaining about the nominees. Just curious how the shrinking newspaper coverage of local sports affects this type of situation? Congratulations to all the nominees. I'd vote for the PAM sweep with a close follow-up by the WO-S RB and LB. Good luck to all the kids.

What's wrong with what Talarico said? Texas should not welcome our neighbors from the south? He didn't say open the borders and do away with immigration laws. Did you watch Talarico's debate with Crockett or are you just copying and pasting snips from Paxton's X account? How can R's back Paxton? Adultery is OK, just don't let in those brown people at the southern border? Let in their tacos, hot sauce, Mexican restauants, Dos Equis, Modelo, and cheap labor, but shut down the border and pick up the welcome mat if they want to live here? Paxton's like Trump, just grab'em in the p---y, commit adultrey, and run for re-election. SMH.

Reagan, have you researched Talarico? Yes, he is a Democrat and a Texas State House Rep. for District 50, which includes North Austin and the Pflugerville area. He is a former schoolteacher. He is not a firebrand politician. So far, he has been campaigning to the Democratic moderates, independents, and center-slightly right Republicans. Talarico is currently leading Crockett in the March primary. It will be worth watching to see whether Talarico wins and, if so, how he performs against the eventual Cornyn/Paxton/Hunt nominee over the summer and next fall.

Why does GCISD have Lee opt up? Why not put them in 5A-D2 and give them an opportunity to compete with schools their size? Give the coaches and kids a fair shot. -

I am reminded of Austin 1985's saying...when it comes to the UIL reading a map and setting up districts based on simple geography and convenience, the UIL is blind, dumb, or both. GO INDIANS! -
PN-G 42 WF 21 GO INDIANS!

Nederland has a good coach...the team on the wrong side of RR tracks continues to fight, scrap, and get better for the road win, 34-31. GO INDIANS!

What is that reason? I was surprised when Coach Southern left Huntsville. He's a good coach, he had a solid program in place at Huntsville, and his 2024 team was tough as nails and loaded with talented JRs and SOPHs.

Montgomery beat Dayton 52-46 on September 26th. I do agree that Dayton will beat Lake Creek. GO INDIANS!

Simon is an incredible talent. No one defender will get him on the ground. Love his physical style of running. If he has to, he can make you miss, but he'd rather just run right through you...and he can do it. Status on Ruffin? Another big time player.
