Another first down on a penalty.

This has been the problem... have them stopped short deep in their territory and a stupid 15 yarder. No discipline.

Most of that was big play yards. By and large the D is better than I expected. Like I said, D has to be consistent.
Second half has been the struggle.

Praying for you and your wife, my friend.

Bellville offense doesn’t have the speed that the stangs have on defense. I knew we wouldn’t score that much lol WOS D isn’t as bad as some made it out to be
We got a whole lot of game left.
200 yards for Bville in a half. That's not great defense. Gave up a long pass on 3rd and forever to a run heavy team... we are not good on D.

Terrible. Drop 7 in coverage and put no pressure on the QB and still the receiver is wide open.

This is hard to watch.

Well, scores dont always tell the story. They were very much in the Silsbee game till MIller comes out of the ambulance and turns into Superman. And they were one pass away from beating HF. WOS is loaded with athletes that usually play extremely hard. If they come out on the field expecting to win, they will. Dont get me wrong, I would like to see them exit this Tourn, cause if they beat Bellville, they may be unstoppable.
I agree with you. We've seen this before in HS football. A team that is loaded with talent but just hasn't put it together. A win in the first round against a previously undefeated team can be just the right thing to get a team the confidence they need and on a roll.
Look at Chappell Hill last year coming out as a 4th seed.
I bet there are a bunch of teams pulling for Belville this week. Not just Silsbee and Jasper.

I think so. Everyone else has switched to the Spread. Idk if our DC has ever seen it in actual game.

If we try to defense that offense with that 40 front we'll be gashed!

About as tough a 4-seed as you could ever have to face. If WOS keeps struggling, bellville could win by 20. If they find a rhythm and play to their capabilities, they could easily pull the upset. Should be an interesting game
WOS will certainly be capable of winning this game. But, watching the game against HJ, I see the same ol culprits... missed tackles, stupid penalties and a general lack of discipline which seems to show itself more against good teams. Can the Mustangs get out of the Mustangs way is the real question here. If so, they could turn the corner.

Somebody can correct me, but he wasn’t even a coordinator, much less a head coach.
I think that the real problem is that he had to hire two new coordinators who brought in their own schemes on both sides of the ball and it hasn’t been successful.
They’re the winningest (by percentage) team in TXHSFB and they only got 13 applicants for the job… because the fix was in, and at this point it looks like it backfired.
Repeat… it’s not the coach’s fault. He’s just doing his best to do the job he was hired to do.
The only thing I'll say different, is, knowing he had no experience, he decided to hire coordinators who had no experience. So now, we have the 3 head guys who have a combined 0 years of experience at their positions.

There has been a vocal group for several years wanting to hire a person of color for the spot. It never really gained any traction until last year when a kid got kicked off of the team and the vocal group got a lot of outside help via the petition and a lot of social media attention. The super had already had his pick made clear before the job was posted, and the rest is History.
It’s not a knock on the new coach or in any way based on his race. It just seemed like the super harnessed the race issue to hire a friend who just doesn’t seem to be in the same league as what was has had in the past. But that’s just an outsider’s perspective.
An astute one.

oh trust me I do and will. The DAWGS have endured our share of losses to Blue&Silver over the years.
Personally, I have always made it clear that I have such a high level of respect for the WOS football program and their accomplishments
if I am not mistaken yalls fans are bit disgruntled about the down year so far.
That said, it's pretty sad that literally one fan has at least said " good game".In case you forget Jasper is going thru changes as well. Might I add I am so proud of our young men this season!
But even when we Jasper got beat 53 to 0 I was one of the first to come tip my hat and be courteous enough to congratulate on the game won. @One4All thank you for the sportsmanship.
also @WOSdrummer99
I apologize, my disgust over what I see should not take away from the well earned Jasper victory. Congratulations!

Congratulations! You all have gotten what you wanted! Change! You get rid of a coach and staff that did nothing but win!! None of you guys should be saying a word! You got what you wanted! In one year, the tradition and reputation of WOS football has been destroyed! Congratulations!!
You need to be careful who you include in "you". Most on this board DID NOT want CT to leave. Most of the people who played knew what held the program together.

Me either !! I've been going to w.o games since 1979.ive never ever seen anything like this!! I heard someone say give them time. If someone can tell me what they're doing on defense.ill like to know.bcz I have no clue
No discipline... 3rd and long? Throw it deep, we'll interfere, guaranteed. Every drive we've kept alive by undisciplined errors.

My thoughts, if we don't learn to contain the edge we're going to get pummeled again. Basic defensive fundamental that has seemed to elude us.

Do we know if this will have a live stream?
