Silsbee can beat them. Stop #0 and control the pass and they have a real shot. The LV defense isn't great. WOS went backwards from mid-season until Friday. We don't improve and are really not very good. We were better earlier in the season. LV is beatable.

Due to soft scheduling and a weaker than normal district. The luck of knocking off 2 ranked opponents early when they were not healthy or still trying to figure it out. Also led to a premature ranking and a hollow DCTF weekly award. The 2 late season losses vs ranked teams proves what we know has been the biggest problem.

For anyone living in the district, I ask that you contact you're elected board members publicly and privately. Don't let them think this is exceptable. Be the solution to the equation. Not the divisor. This starts at the top and falls heavily upon those walking the halls. They deserve better.

The only reason they were slowed is because they shot themselves in the foot with penalties.

This defense is just bad. It's really hard to watch.

I'm picking up the sarcasm, but its worked for 40 years. Our kids have the same traits they've always had. Not only were the 2 losses heavily influenced by our lack of pressure, but so was 3 near losses. It is what it is.

Been doing that all year. Edge pressure is a staple of the 50 defense. Speed on the edge, man outside. Our kids have never been good playing a zone coverage. Especially having to stay in coverage for 5-10 seconds because the QB is standing back there on his spot. What they can do is stay in man coverage for 4-5 seconds while the front 5 get after the QB. We have the athletes. It boggles my mind why we continue to do that. 

We have to bring edge pressure. Both our losses were due to a lack of pressure on the QB. If we let the LV QB stand around back there he'll kill us. We have the athletes to play man and bring the pressure.

It's terrible... you eliminate what we have in abundance- speed. We gotta bring those ends off the edge... let's get them "go calls" going again. If we don't we won't beat LV again.

One thing is for certain, we gonna have to stop the rushing 3 down lineman or LV QB will pick us apart again. We can't let him have all day to throw. Gotta pressure the edge. Make him get rid of it quick.

How I read the comments here from some of the WO-S fans, they are simply down playing the win over Jasper.

I don't think any of them would argue that they would have lost to CH and Carthage. 

They beat a Jasper team that came in with a 2-3 record. They see it as nothing to be bragging about.

Personally, I disagree. Coming back in the 2nd half like they did against a formidable opponent like Jasper, in Jasper, is quite impressive in my book.

Yes, you are spot on. And you have a right to your opinion of the win. We have ours.

Expectations have to be higher or we will continue down the road we've traveled for 3 years now. Many don't know, but there is strong senior leadership on this team. Many kids who've been on V since their Sophomore seasons. We SHOULD beat a young 2-4 Jasper and NOT by the skin of our teeth.

Had they actually competed against those teams that would be a valid point. Simply having a tough schedule does make the team tough. No offense, it is what it is.
