As for Ned and the prognostications of doom for this season, all I can say is that I've watched us play them for 40 years. I remember after our game last year thinking that might have been the worst Ned team I'd seen since the 80's and early 90's. I remember thinking last night that your team this year looked more like a Ned team I expect. Take that for what it's worth.

I think we just ran out of gas...it was the longest regular season game I remember in a long time that didn't go to overtime
I thought the same thing of Nederlands defense late last night. It looked like they were gassed. WOS big O-line leaning on them the whole 2nd half probably helped that a little.

Congrats WOS on your win. Congrats Nederland on making it a game. I am unsure what to make of this????
I was here and watched it... so do i.

That was barely contested. We look like a middle school defensively.

I fixed it for you.
This is hard to watch... just like last season...
As I watch another TD go by...

Yes, yes , and yes. QB's leadership role has been enhanced by a WOS legend. It was an honor to meet that man and shake his hand last night. As long as we have community members like him and my friend @dj, who are committed to continue to program's success. We cannot fail.
WOS 112%
Who is the legend? Rod?

After seeing these first couple scrimmages the three positives I see:
1. I think the QB play will be a strength this yr. Turner seems to have turned the corner. I hope he is as much of a leader on the field as he is a competitor.
2. I saw the defensive coaches make adjustments after Vidors first series that went 2 plays and 70 yards. After that they got into the same defensive alignment wed been running against that offense for years with success. That was encouraging to see and the Vidor O didn't get much after that. Adjustments are a necessity and something we didn't see much last year.
3. The offensive and defensive lines are big. We've been needing some size up front. I feel it's hurt us in years past with our lack of size up front in late rounds. I don't know how good they are, and we certainly need to improve in our run game, but that usually develops into the season.
Lots of work still to do and not knowing how good the teams you've scrimmaged are really makes it tough to know much more.

Yes this past spring
I had no idea either. RIP to he and his wife.
It's easy to think these screen names will always be around. It's good to remember there are frail, fragile human lives on the other end and we all have end dates. Praying for peace for Hagars family.

I agree. What I saw at practice is that they've made progress. But still have a long way to go to get to the top. I think the kids really believe in themselves again and have committed to the new Mustang way.

Well, all that's real good, til you line up against the PNG, Jasper and Silbee's of the world. I'll believe when I see it on the field. My gut tells me we'll be decent on offense and porous on defense, again. I hope they prove me wrong.

Well, when I got there I found out they actually started at 6. I saw the quarter and a little more that they played. O line is big. Turner looked good throwing it. I saw a pick 6 and a couple TD passes. For some reason they ended it with 10 minutes left in the second live period. I was told the Woodville coach called it but not sure if that's true.
Defense didn't give up much, but Woodville kept committing penalties. Still in that 4-3.
We just have to remember, it's Woodville.

I think I'm gonna go.
I'll send some updates.

Exactly. They also had their focus on us. Knowing it was their chance and took full advantage. Hope they keep the focus again. Don't think they're coming to DRH to face the '22 team again. We've got some seniors that still have that winning mentality that has been instilled in them since they were old enough to hold a football. Everyone's back and ready to roll. Kids were working hard this morning. Pushing each other just as much as the coaches were. Now we need to get our fan base back in the game and show em some love.
Any info on the scrimmage? I know it's in Woodville, but do you know the times?

Not sure if Newton is considered in the Golden Triangle. That was the question.
I'm sure a Silsbee fan looking for a reason to slight WOS would see it that way, but the GT is Orange, PA and Beaumont and the communities that lie inside of that.
Nevermind, I see this has already been beat to death, plus this thread is about the Indians. It don't need to get derailed.

Week 3 when I saw this team live I knew they made the right choice with the hire. Didn't imagine they had this in em the 1st year.
All of SETX, GT, whatever these guys want to call it. We are all hoping to have PNG bring another state championship trophy back down 45 next week. Go finish this amazing season.
I'll second that!
