I have come on this forum before and at times intentionally been a bit of a turd and antagonist, but over on the Smoaky forum I was constantly entertained by Powerlifter and grew to love his posting. I enjoyed interacting with him on there as well.  RIP and prayers to his friends and family! Any thing he posted and any thread he started was a Must read.

I would shake his hand if I could.  Once every 2-3 years you can be right on predicting Carthage not winning a State championship. 🤷‍♂️

Carthage always following in our footsteps lol. We win, they win. We lose. they lose. Cant get away from those guys. Not going to lie though, it feels like both 5AD2 and 4AD2 got much more exciting. Interested in how the rest of the tournament shakes out. 

You are undefeated in that regard! Always a winner. Lol

When I hear "on top" I first think "the best".  Thanks for clarifying because as we can see here it can mean two drastically different things to people.  By my definition, WOS hasn't been on top since 2016.  By yours, it's still a little foggy still because good is subjective, but in the mix to win... what? Win a game? Win more games than you lose? Win state? You should probably figure that out. Regardless, we know its a much lower standard than my definition of "on top".

I have to admit, when I read the title to the topic I thought for sure it was another powerlifter thread.

You left several off.. Westlake, LT, SLC, Allen, Aledo, Carthage. I'm sure I have missed some but all of these have been ranked nationally multiple years since WOS.

Have you ever played football in a cow pasture dodging cow patties? Cause that’s how we train our boys in Vidor, that’s where they get their elusiveness and gain that physical speed.

I’m starting to believe that this magical football field is out there in West Orange somewhere. Maybe the grass is overgrown and you can’t see it right now.

Stampede Defense. I like it. Sounds better than Blue Link, Blue Link makes me think of a cable/internet company. 

Maybe a new “beed” of species was created down in that no mans land. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit for a news story about something like that happening down in those parts

And WO-S did it with just 11 players on defense. A good coaching move to rest the offense while the defense was on the field. This could be the future for football.

All I know is I want @powerlifter immediate thoughts and game analysis on this big win tonight.

Idk what they are doing over in West Orange but we just use the two fields at the Vidor flag and tackle league.
They are crudely painted and a lot Pirate history went through there, trust me even my old butt played there. I’ll tell you one thing though, you can’t beat the food. Sometimes I stop by on Saturdays and people ask me who I’m there to watch cause I don’t have a kid playing. I just say no, I’m here for the concession stand food.

He reminds me of and old tv show that people were shipped reck and stranded on and island.The cast had a lot of strange charactersters.One was the captain of the wrecked boat and he was called Skipper I believee He was quite the character.

But wait... do they have a pasture crudely painted like a football field and it is named "Pirate history starts here" ???

Man Powerlifter is the gift that keeps on giving. Dude has reached legendary status quicker than our main man SNOOKS from back in the day, never seen that coming! 😁
