The Bulldogs lose 1-0 tonight. Last night they supposedly had 2 hits in the win. Tonight they had another whopping 3 hits. They did have another super mound performance, error by SS in 1st inning was the only blemish Hopefully they will get the bats going tomorrow If not they finish with a nice season and a 3rd round exit

AggiesAreWe is a good poster. Where we disagree is he is a great stat person, but doesn’t realize that it’s the win and losses that count. He also settles for average results. Why would you coach if you don’t strive for excellence I would surely want a coach that has a conference championship goal and one that has their team perform well in the conference tournament knowing that is the only way to make it to a regional or the ncaa basketball tournament. When was the last year that happened Baseball under Gilligan, basketball under Tubbs. Let’s face the fact that Lamar is happy with mediocrity as is AggiesAreWe and I am simply not satisfied with that!

Wound up 40-17, a nice record. Conference play 20-10 not bad. Then get beat in conference tournament by 6 and 7 seeds In Davis’s 9 years he has not came close to a regional invitation. He may have the worst conference record in the SLC what is the AD and administration going to do If I were the AD at Lamar I would search for a coach that can get them to regionals and win SLC championships Davis will never get Lamar’s baseball program to a regional tournament They simply choke in conference tournaments I I know some of you think the AD and administration really care about The athletic programs at Lamar I am not so sure because they don’t win at any major sport and they are in one of the weakest conferences in the nation

Did Nederland even get a hit. Could have given a bunt single in the 1st. Winning run in 6th should have been an error on 3rd baseman. I can’t recall any other hits. Baseball is funny, got outplayed but won the game. Their bats better come alive or they will lose this series. They did play very good defense and the young pitcher is tough I have to give them a big positive for that, however the offense was not good. I have watched all their playoff games and the defense has been pretty darn good except for the loss to Montgomery. The offense has been weaker than well water

The Lamar Cardinal baseball team had a very nice 40-15 regular season record and a 3rd place conference record of 20-10. My question, that I hope someone can answer, is why have they performed so poorly in conference tournament games during Davis’s 9 seasons at Lamar? They just lost to HCU, the 7 seed 6-3

Sure hope they have another good season. The new coach came from Katy and Katy usually plays very good defense, so I am hoping in his second year that the defense improves tremendously. It has been weak the last several years. I don’t know if they don’t know how to teach secondary play or if there is not much talent at those positions. They certainly had a much better season last year, but simply struggled the last few games on defense

Have to win the tournament to get to a regional

Nice sweep and 3 seed with 40 wins. Don’t like the fact that they have to play HCU again. Tough to win 4 straight from another team and if they make it to UTRGV it could be disastrous for some reason they never play well against them

The cardinals tried to choke it up in the 8th and 9th on defense tonight, however they came through in the bottom of the night with 2 clutch hits after a walk with 2 outs The Cardiac Cards came through in the clutch again. Now 39-15 and if they can get the sweep tomorrow then we will see 40 wins in the regular season with a possible 3rd place finish going into the tournament

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, however they tend to win a couple and then lose a couple. Basically playing mediocre as of today and in next to last place. Hopefully you will be right, I just don’t see it now

I sure hope the person that posted that the Astros would be in 1st place in their division by the break didn’t have a stroke before they posted. The way they are playing as of today may lead them to last place by the break

Just posting on what most likely will happen. Simply goes back to Davis’s teams never performing well in the conference tournament and the fact that they always seem to struggle with UTRGV, SEL, McNeese, and Northwestern; noticeably the 3-9 record vs these teams this season( that is 9 of their 14 losses)

Well the Cardinals couldn’t do it today. Pitching and errors got them today. Still have a chance to possible sweep HCU and be 40-15 regular season or win at least 2 and be 39-16. Possibly either 20-10 or 19-11 in conference. Then go 1-2 in tournament, finish with a nice record before going home for the summer

Well the bats were silent today with the 4-0 loss. At least they loaded the bases in the 9th. Unfortunately if they lose tomorrow the season will probably be over with a nice winning record for the season

Lamar’s softball team just completed another poor season under the leadership of Hooks. UIW owned them with 4 of 5 wins vs the Cards. Now we will see if the AD and administration gets rid of Hooks or continues to accept an underachieving program

7 games left for the cardinals and really need to win 5 of the 6 conference games to have a chance 36-12 and still have a chance for 40 regular season wins. They are going to finish with a very good season, but rest assured the only SLC team to make it to the postseason will be the winner

I was very close 28-25 with an absolutely horrendous performance at UIW 2 quick losses in SLC tournament and season is done. Most likely 28-27

Nice 13-3 victory for the sweep. Now need to beat SEL at least once and sweep HCU. They always struggle with SEL especially on the road and will not beat A&M or Texas If they can win 4 they will finish the regular season 40-15 Still hoping they can get hot and win the SLC tournament

Another close but good win. Now for the much needed sweep tomorrow usually get the update from you myrecordwashorrible. You certainly do a nice job with the information need the win tomorrow and hopefully a sweep vs HCU because the other five results will not be pleasing for Cardinals fans

Nice win for the Cardinals over PV 14-3 11 games left in regular season 6 at home and 5 on the road I think they have a chance to win 5 of the 6 at home. Maybe all 6 may have a chance to go 1-4 on the road if they can beat SEL once I am still thinking 38 or 39 regular season wins before SEL tournament

Lamar takes it on the chin 11-6 vs Houston A game I thought they may have a chance to win. 3 losses in a row They should have a good chance of winning at least 3 of the next 4 before losing at least 4 of the following 5 and hopefully they will win 2 of 3 vs HCU before SLC tournament Most likely a 38-17 regular season record which is pretty darn good
