  1. At times the offense looked good. The big problem I see that can be fixed is bad snaps and penalties The QB is a tough kid and much improved from last year, but he still has accuracy issues on his passes. That can also be fixed The major problem that has to be addressed is an extremely weak defense and special teams. If these areas are not fixed soon, they won’t have a chance at winning. You can’t expect to win giving up 40 and 54 points. The one bright spot on defense is that they didn’t shut it down in the 4th quarter vs PAM like they did vs WOS
  2. I hate to tell you Brubaker but they got beat 54-26. They gave up 54. They have played 2 games and are averaging giving up 47 a game. You are not going to beat anyone like that. I will say the offense is at times better than last year(far too many penalties). Defensively, they are a far cry from being good. Their special teams and I mean all the special teams are very poor, so if you want to call 0-2 good, then go ahead. Every team in the state has the same aged players, so don’t come up with this youth excuse. Just know as of right now, they are not close to being a good team
  3. Sorry Bulldog fans, but this coaching staff has to go. The Bulldogs have to be one of the worst coached teams in the State. Penalties after penalty on the OL or a bad snap. It does not appear that anyone coaches the special teams and of course the defense can’t stop anyone. PAM May have 70 by the end of this game. I thought Nederland was improving, but it doesn’t look like it
  4. I certainly know good football from bad or mediocre. The Bulldogs haven’t been very good since this coaching staff took over
  5. I watched the 1st half and 2nd half and saw nothing special with offense, defense, and special teams. The offense is improved from last year, but you have to remember how bad they were last year. I am beginning to realize that there are a lot of posters that simply don’t know how to recognize good football vs bad football
  6. I apologize Brubaker, but I saw no real flashes of anything special about Nederland’s RPO system. However it really doesn’t matter when your defense is giving up 40+ a game. Joy, joy 2-8 again
  7. It’s going to be interesting to see
  8. 2 games in a row with some really good hitting. Keep it up
  9. Mainly because the Bulldogs have been pathetic the past 2 seasons
  10. Sorry if the truth hurts. Simply look at the history of Lumberton football
  11. Nederland QB is improved from last year, a pretty gutsy player. As for the 4th quarter you go up 34-22 with 11:30 left, there should be no way you lose, unless you have a ton of turnovers. The defense was just flat embarrassing. They couldn’t tackle, didn’t pursue the ball, and simply let the WOS QB look like an all-American IMO, I think the Dogs have a chance of beating Willowridge and GP. I am afraid it is going to be another 2-8 season
  12. I think Lumberton is back to being the Friendly Raiders. 0-2 most likely after this game
  13. Hey looking like the Astros of old today! Respectable by Verlander and hitting came alive. Can they keep this up. I hope so. We will see how they perform in Boston
  14. 31 games left. The way they are playing probably 16-15 in last 31 games unless they step it up
  15. Good post KF89. Glad to see a few posters on here that know how to evaluate a game
  16. The pre season talk was that the DL and LB’ers were going to be better this season. The secondary has been a weak area since Spell retired I watched the entire game and the OL was not very good at all . The QB was having to bail out on most pass attempts, so the OL has a long way to go The defense was about as bad as you can get. There was absolutely no pressure on the WOS QB. The DL and LB’ers are slow and do not tackle well and the secondary is still an issue. The worst part was very poor tackling, being out of shape and they simply gave up the last 11 minutes of the 4th quarter. Tackling and being out of shape is mainly due to poor coaching. Totally shutting it down in the 4th quarter is mainly on the players. If they don’t fix those areas soon , they will most likely give up 40 plus a game This is my opinion from my observation of the game
  17. I think Lumberton fans are fixing to realize that the head coach doesn’t know much about football He had 2 nice seasons due to a good QB and receivers. I look for a 3rd place finish and 1 and done in playoffs
  18. Yes I certainly see a major problem. I understand that there is not a whole lot of talent on the team, however they walk on and off the field, with little enthusiasm . You take a 4th quarter lead 34-22 and then completely shut it down is a telling sign of some bad football to come IMO, it appears that the players are being poorly coached and the possibility that they don’t want to play for this coaching staff IMO, last year and this year will be 2 of the worst teams in the history of Nederland football. They still have 6 teams on the schedule that are better than WOS
  19. I take it that you didn’t watch the game or the 4th quarter The Bulldog defense didn’t show up in the 4th quarter and didn’t appear that they wanted to! I can do without the idiot remark. You also need to learn how to read a post. It said very little desire. If they do want to win, they must be way out of shape and fundamentally unsound, because the WOS QB made them look like we’re standing still or he just ran over them like they were still in junior high
  20. After watching the Bulldog defense, PAM will probably score about 50
  21. The Bulldog offense is improved from last year. I was hoping for 3-7, but after watching one of the worst defenses I have seen in a long time, I am afraid it is going to be 2-8 again The defense is slow and tackling is about as bad as you can get, but the really bad news is in the 4th quarter, they showed that they have little desire to win As far as the coaching staff goes, you are down 40-34 with about 3 minutes to go and you run east and west, then up the middle, then decide to throw on 3rd and about 7 I do not know who coaches the offensive line or the defensive coaches, but I can tell you that they are not getting the job done
