Another nice season for Lamar. Unfortunately today’s loss to Northwestern did the post season in. I look forward to them to either go 7-6 or 6-7 the last 13 games and finish with a very good 39-16 or 38-17 regular season record and most likely 1-2 in the SLC tournament They either still a nice season one hopes tournament will have a better outcome for the Cardinals, but they struggle with UTRGV, SEL, McNeese, and Northwestern. Still May have a chance for a 40-18 season record which is very good, but season is over after SLC tournament

Well the lady Cards choked up another series. Appears that they will finish 14-13 in conference and 27-26 on the season. I do not see them winning any of the last 4 and probably go 0-2 in SLC tournament They either can’t recruit well or simply don’t compete well or possibly a combination of the 2 plus poor coaching

I do not know if the Cardinals will win the conference tournament this year, however they will wind up with a nice record. Sometimes they play really well and sometimes struggle, but I will say that they don’t quit. They have had many late inning comebacks this season. Way to go Cards and keep it up with many conference wins out of the last 12 conference games

Great news finding a way to win. Bad news playing to competition level. Still have to travel to SLU where they usually struggle, to NWU where they struggle, and at home vs HCU who is in 1st. Hopefully they will keep winning and win the SLC tournament. It is going to be tough but have a good record now

I would not count on that. Lamar has a tendency to play to the level of competition

Yes they are playing good baseball with a solid record. Simply need to get it going in conference games. Conference record has to get much better. Hopefully the home series vs Nichols will be at least 2 of 3 and hopefully a sweep

Well I just saw the 1st projection of the 64 ncaa baseball teams to make the regionals and UTRGV was the only 1 from the SLC. I know it is early, however this states what they think about the SLC

I like your thought process, however I just don’t see the committee taking 2 SLC teams unless they figure out tournament non winner has at least 39 wins. Unfortunately the committee’s in the major sports do not think much of the SLC

Yes the SLC has a few baseball teams playing well as of today. Hopefully Lamar will win it all. With that being stated, the only way a team other than the tournament champion will have to have 39+ wins.

Doesn’t matter how it happens Lamar basketball will probably never get back to playing like they did under Tubbs and Foster

Does not appear that the Lamar administration and athletic department wants to do that, so they will probably settle for 2nd again and another season of sitting at the house. Lamar’s men and women in Basketball, baseball, and softball simply choke when it comes to the post season tournament since the ncaa committees only will take the post season winner Lamar will continue to sit at the house, unless they figure out what it takes to win the tournament

Why have the ncaa basketball officials gotten so bad. They don’t call traveling, carrying the ball, 3 seconds in the lane, and obvious offensive charges any more. I understand that Duke is the obvious better team than Baylor, but 19 FT’s to 2 in the 1st half is ridiculous. The flagrant on Baylor I understand but why was the obvious intentional elbow by Flagg in the 1st half not flagrant I have now seen at least 3 games where the officials did everything in their power to try and allow the better seed to win

Good puts them at 6-6, unfortunately they are still near the bottom of the conference. Hopefully they will get on a roll

If the ncaa did things right they should have a March madness tournament for the mid majors separate from the majors allowing them to have a better chance for success

Simply stating the facts. You are correct most conferences can’t get the quality teams that the major conferences can and the ncaa has really messed up allowing players to get paid. This is one of the major reasons why it is no longer team, just a bunch of individuals that transfer from conference to conference for the money. Unfortunately college athletics are becoming like the pro leagues and getting to where they are not fun to watch

Very nice season for McNeese, had a Huge upset vs Clemson, unfortunately the loss to Purdue again shows the weakness of the SLC. They played hard, however the SLC just can’t get the higher quality players to be successful at the national level

Good news is that McNeese made it to the 2nd round, bat news is they got beat pretty bad by Purdue!

That is very good for the SLC, however the only team that will be invited to a regional will be the team that wins the conference tournament. The committees in the major sports do not think highly of the SLC

Remember that Lamar had a pretty good record and a good 2nd place finish in the SLC and didn’t even get a sniff to one of the Rinky Dink tournaments. The committee members do not like the SLC and you can rest assured they are not happy with this upset, I just hope Clemson doesn’t fire their coach over this loss like Texas is about to do to Terry!

You are correct. Great win for MC Neese. They tried their best to blow it at the end, however I was wrong on 1 and done. Some teams from the ACC are not very strong. Face it, today Clemson had shooters about like A&M, not very good , but you are correct, I blew the call on this game. I am glad they won, however the SLC is still a very weak conference and why only the winner will get a bid for March Madness
