I do not know why some players are quitting to go to 1 sport or simply walking the halls at Nederland I do know that the football players are not getting quality coaching. If they were, you would not see the results we are seeing. I see an offense that can’t score against good teams, a defense that, has given up more points in 1 season than a team should give up in 3, and special teams that may have possibly been the worst in the district. The last 2 seasons have been really bad and surely the administration has seen this. IMO, it is past time for coaching changes at Nederland

I agree that the OL and DL have been small and all players need to get as strong and quick as they can in the offseason and summer, however the major problem the past 3 seasons has been the poor position coaching these players have received

If this is the case and they keep him, they will continue to play poor football

I understand that in high school football, some years you get a stronger talent pool than other years The concerns I have the past 2 years are based on the leadership 1. I see a total lack of discipline. In fact I would think that they lead the district in penalties, especially personal fouls 2. The fundamentals are just poor. This shows me that the majority of the coaches are not teaching fundamentals and technique well. Examples- the offense averaged 7 points vs the good teams they played(offensive line was not coached well); the defense gave up an average of 39 points a game(they were slow, did not tackle well, and the secondary was non existent) 3. Way too much whining and complaining to the officials by the coaching staff In my opinion, if they Keep Barrow, he needs to hire assistant coaches that coach I know most of the players are trying, however as I have watched each game, probably due to how bad they have been these last 2 years, it just doesn’t appear that they are trying Finally, I am afraid if they keep the current staff, the results will be the same next year, maybe 5 or 6 wins(according to who will be in the district)

Lumberton certainly has a good chance of winning this game before Kilgore beats them by a couple of TD’s

Obviously talking about Westbrook Texas that won state the past 2 seasons and possibly a 3 peat this season. Looking at the points they have scored Chester doesn’t have much of a chance of winning

The way they are playing now tells me that they will not beat Belleville

It was a little better than last year, so I agree on a better season I disagree on ending well due to the clobbering they received from TC and LC. They will get better with a new coaching staff. If they have same staff next year look for 5-5 maybe 6-4 at best and another 1 and done in playoffs

I take it that Thomas and Sunday are the only talented players for the Bulldogs. If that is the case they will be the same as the last 2 seasons With below average talent they better find a coaching staff that can teach and get the most out of the players

Thank you Brubaker, I guess the talent level has diminished some in the SE Tx area Now let’s wish the remaining playoff teams in the area well I think there are a few to possibly get to the 3rd round Newton and PNG May get to round 4. Jasper and HF could possibly meet again if HF can upset Cuero

Unfortunately SE Texas had several weak districts this year with the majority going 0-4 or 1-3 in the 1st round. Hopefully the districts will be better next year My predictions of FBM, Nederland, PAM, and WOS being 1 and done was 100 percent correct Congrats to the teams moving on to the next round BH, PNG, Lumberton, HF, Jasper, Silsbee, Woodville, Newton, and Deweyville

LC players are also in HS along with all the other teams players. You either compete are you don’t. Unfortunately Nederland did not tonight

Hate to tell you Brubaker but the game is already out of hand I predicted LC anywhere from 42 to 56 but it looks like 70 or more

Dallas still can’t beat the good teams. The defense was so so vs the Eagles. They rave about Quinn but I don’t see any superior defense and offensively Prescott’s stepping out of bounds on the 2 point play and throwing to the 2 yard line on the last play are IMO inexcusable I see some outfit is projecting a 13-4 finish. I am thinking more like 10-7 the way they play( decent 1 game and bad the next)

I agree that Marco was not a good AD. He hired a softball coach that can’t win, he did not get rid of the baseball coach that players can’t stand and post season tournament record is really bad, got rid of Harmony and Price. Women’s basketball has certainly slipped since they let her go and Price’s teams at least competed. I will say the new AD appears to have made a good hire in football. They have a chance to finish 6-5 or 7-4 Maybe Brooks team will be better this year

Their losses were to 3 good teams PNG, Silsbee, and TC; 1 very overrated team that will be 1 and done PAM; and 2 teams that we discovered were not very good this year, WOS and FBM, and they like PAM and the Bulldogs will be 1 and done The Bulldogs are in the playoffs, a better season than last year, but I certainly would not call it a very good season at 4-7 Maybe next year will be better

Good news Nederland is in the playoffs Bad news they are 1 of the worst 5A D2 teams to make the playoffs in the State 6 losses giving up an average of 39 a game and scoring an average of 15 4 wins against teams with a combined 15-25 record and 6-22 in district Lake Creek probably anywhere from 42, 49, 56 points Bulldogs probably 0, 7, 14 points once LC puts backups in

I have been posting for 2 years that the Bulldogs have been just about as bad as you can get. It comes with the territory who you do not have much talent and your coaching is horrendous. Many posters whine and cry about my posts because they don’t like the truth Their spill is your always negative and a Bulldog hater, when in reality I am simply honest Maybe some will start realizing that I know the difference between good talent and coaching from very little talent and poor coaching

PAM will be 1 and done. May have been the most overrated 5A team in the state!
