Hopefully this coaching staff will get the Bulldogs going in the right direction I have noticed much fewer personal foul penalties under the new staff. That is a plus The only post or part of the post I disagree with is the one about being competitive in most games. The Dayton game is the only loss where they were competitive The other 5 losses were blowouts minus the West Fork game and West Fork had no business winning that game

Offensively, you must have a passing game to go with your running game these days to be successful Nederland’s running game was not that bad, however the passing game was lousy I don’t know what they do to choose a QB, but he either needs to be able to throw accurately or the QB coach needs to teach him. It is also a coach’s responsibility to teach receivers how to run good pass routes. Nederland is very poor at that. It is mainly the athletes responsibility to learn to catch a pass. They were really bad at that. I thought the OL blocked pretty well on running plays, but pass blocking was a big issue My take is that they probably didn’t work on pass blocking enough Defensively, they haven’t had good secondary play in years. I take it that the coaching staff does an inadequate job teaching them and they simply have average athletes at those positions I thought the DL was decent vs the run, but pass rushing was not very good and again probably didn’t work on that enough. It also appeared watching their games that the LB’er position has average athletes that appear to be in slow motion. The poor tackling is on the defensive coaching staff That is what I observed watching them and they have major issues to get corrected by next season if they plan on being successful

The season is a combination of coaching and poor athletic ability. The QB struggles big time passing. If he does throw a decent pass the receivers drop it more times than they catch it. The LB’er and secondary play is about as bad as you can get. The tackling is atrocious (how many missed tackles on Huntsville’s last 2 offensive TD’s) Yes I would say a definite combination of coaching and poor athletic ability

Lost a tough one today but will have a good record. 8-4 possibility. They should beat McNeese, however I don’t see them beating SELa or SFA if they couldn’t beat UIW

HF defense is not good enough to win this game. Will be #3 seed and face LaMarque in the 1st round and could be 1 and done

Had to laugh at the defense played pretty solid. The only defense in the district worse than Nederland’s is Splendora. Could be a reason they will finish 7th and 8th in the district

Appears to me that they need a new QB coach and a new receiver coach. Those positions are not good. What are they going to do about a defense that is weaker than well water?

Well at least they beat Splendora. Montgomery will score 50 plus next week. 3-7 and 1-6. All the fans that thought they were going to be ok at the start of the season were either dreaming or know nothing about good teams vs bad teams. The Bulldogs are bad

Does not appear that Nederland works much on the passing game. Relievers can’t catch and QB can’t throw

#5 played majority of 1st half. Finally took him out after his 2nd fumble. He fell on the 1st one and Huntsville scored on his 2nd one

Nederland is just a bad team. Basically gave them a TD with stupid penalties and missed tackles. Nederland’s passing game is pathetic

My good poster Darth Texas If you have watched the Bulldogs then you know that they are absolutely horrible on defense. I am talking the entire defense especially LB’ers and Secondary. DL is better, however not by much. They are giving up 38 points per game in district. I look for Huntsville to score 35 are more and Montgomery 50 plus

For some unknown reason AggiesAreWe and baddog think Dallas defense is decent. Both talked about improvement vs Washington. I don’t believe I see any improvement

Well, the worst defense in the NFL this season appears that they may give up close to 50 vs Denver. All you posters that think their defense is good are lost as a goose. Prescott has been very good this season, just not today. I just don’t know if they can win more than 6 games this season with the defense they put on the field

Outstanding win by the Cardinals. It’s been many years since they have started this well. Two very tough games left on regular season and conference schedule. SE La and SFA are going to be tough. They must 1st play well at UIW I hope they continue to play well

You are correct the offense was really bad, however the passing game is just flat out poor. It is tough to drive the ball when you can’t throw. I really don’t think the defense hung in there- they gave up 49 points(even though 2 were short fields thanks to turnovers)

Nederland will finish 3-7 and 1-6 in district after Huntsville and Montgomery beat them. You will have a very hard time winning when your defense is as bad as Nederland’s and you have zero passing game. Hopefully they can address and get some of these major issues fixed before next season. I personally think it is a combination of a lack of talent and poor coaching and some positions

If Coach Rich and staff and the Bulldogs are going to have any success in the future, they better address major issues on defense, find a secondary and LB’er coach and on offense find a QB that can throw and receivers that can catch. Their passing game poor!
