Yes it certainly is a nice win for Houston. Valdez finally pitches well again and he gets much needed run support When this happens you usually win. Now they need a sweep and help to get in

I have not called anyone stupid or ignorant or negative That would be you folks calling me that. I am glad you believe in the Astros, however that doesn’t mean that they are playing well. When I state that they are not, all these excuses for the team not playing well come out It is good to believe and be loyal as a fan, but to not recognize when they are not playing well IMO doesn’t make sense

Was there ignorance in those comments? Absolutely not! The Astros have done very well the past several Years. They simply didn’t get the job done this year. The sad part of some other posts is that you want to look at the past and not at the present They had a bad season with injuries, no one knows whether they have won or not. They may have, but it didn’t happen that way. There is no reason for excuses. Just say they didn’t get it done The one thing that I am definitely finding out for all the ones that want to call my comments ignorant or that my posts are always negative is that these fine folks know very little about athletics They may not watch the games or may not recognize what is going on or simply don’t understand what it takes to win

Correct me if I am wrong, but weren’t the players they called up pros They had 1 reliable starter Brown and 1 reliable closer Hader and that was basically it on the mound Pena good season hitting, Meyers his best ever Alvarez good hitter but stays injured Altuve had an off year. Other than those no one stepped up at the plate especially with RISP Simply face the fact that they didn’t get it done this season. They did not play well enough These puppy dog tears of injuries and excuses are getting ridiculous

Glad to see them healing up and hopefully they can help the Astros next season IMO they better find a GM. This one did little during the off season to bring in quality players. They started the season with very few decent pitchers and finished the season that way and they simply couldn’t hit with RISP They simply played bad after the all star break Absolutely no excuses about injuries, they happen to every team and don’t bother me with stats because it is about which teams win more games

I hope he does and stays healthy because the backup runs like he is on the JV team

Only certain teams I like rooting for Fb - pro - Dallas, Houston so so college - just about any team from Texas Hs - just about all the area teams Pro Bb - absolutely no one college Bb - most teams from Texas and the NCAA playoffs Texas Hs - just about all area teams pro baseball - Astros college bb - just about all Texas teams and the playoffs I take it that you get the picture and I really don’t care if you think my post are negative because they are very accurate Are the Astros playing good baseball - absolutely not and after 3 games Dallas has the 32nd best defense in the NFL - can you say last I vent my frustrations on my posts about teams I care about that are playing crappy I am not going to rah rah horrible play

Can you name anything they have done good Dallas a come from behind win in game 2 because they have the best FG kicker in the NFL The Astros last several games before the All Star break Lamar had brought in a good FB coaching staff The Nederland Bulldogs have brought in a good Those are some positives

Why do you need to post when everything is going good. I simply let you and others know when things are not going well for the teams I root for. Things that are extremely frustrating and realistic. Things that some think are negative or downers, but are realistic and the reasons why they are Examples: There is no doubt that the Cowboys defense is horrible (absolutely no pass rush and a secondary that cover anyone), Lamar(can’t get very good athletes because they can’t recruit- I am sure money has a lot to do with that), the Astros( can not hit with runners on base and only a couple of decent starting pitchers and an average at best bullpen) That is IMO why and I believe it is very accurate

You obviously don’t like the truth so you’re going to tell their defense is good. They have now stunk it up for 3 games and guess what they have only played 3 games!

I think it is official after watching today’s game. Dallas probably has the worst defense in the NFL. They have absolutely ZERO pass rush and the secondary is without a question the worst in the NFL Getting destroyed by Chicago is a total embarrassment I am not to sure if they will win 6 games and probably last place in there division

I would not call 12-11 very good. Appears that they are choking the pooch. They better win those last 2 series or they will be sitting at the house

Does anyone know if another NFL team is as bad in the secondary as Dallas?

BruBaker, It doesn’t matter if 2 DL were missing The special teams fumbles, the penalties, the secondary that can’t cover anyone, and an offense that can’t move the ball is the reason they lost The passing game is about as bad as you can get and I am sure teams will try their best to stop the run and not worry about the throwing game. Other than #10, the Bulldogs have no one that can move the ball I am not going with the flow, I am going with reality

Doesn’t matter how many they were missing, they did not play good and yes they had to be on the field too long. The penalties are inexcusable, but they just can’t move the ball on offense. 10 appears to be their only offensive weapon. Unless they can keep district opponents to 7 or less, they don’t have much of a chance this season. I just can’t imagine that offense scoring more than 14 in a game I knowing they are young, however they are not very good. Sorry but that’s the reality this season I I think the coaches are doing a good job, but it is hard to overcome a ton of penalties and major mistakes on special teams. It certainly is tough when you have very little offense

The Bulldogs will finish anywhere from 4-6 to 6-4 this season They should beat Splendora and West Fork. Going to be iffy vs Dayton and Lake Creek and they will get beat probably badly by PNG, Huntsville, and Montgomery Absolutely no offense and defense looked pretty bad tonight and special teams were bad tonight They can get special teams problems fixed and play better on defense but they just can’t score. They have 1 RB, the OL is not good, and they have zero passing attack. It’s going to be a tough year for the Bulldogs unfortunately

Unfortunately they will be on the field a lot this season as bad as the offense is. They have lead the nation in penalties tonight
