What a fantastic 8th inning of offense today to secure a 7-4 win. The Cards were down 4-0 headed into the bottom of the 8th and came up with some clutch hits to secure the win. 5-1, an excellent start to the season

Lamar has started the season really well. Hopefully they will continue to improve I know they are playing some Rinky Dinks now, however I think they are going to have another good season

Navydawg31, you are correct This was before conference after they were getting beat by some Rinky Dink teams and how bad did they get beat by an average Big 12 team Can you say close to 50

My 1st post stated mainly middle of the pack, the possible cellar dwellers post was after they were losing to some non conference rinky dinks

Hope they win it all, however they have only played 3 SLC games, still many to go and if they continue to play like they did vs HC it could get ugly The conference may be weaker than I thought

Well good ole AggiesAreWe and navydawg31, glad to see y’all posting Lamar basketball is doing very well in conference and I hope they keep it up and become conference champions This I do know as well as both of you. They play in one of the weakest conferences in D1 NCAA basketball and whoever wins the conference will either get a 15 or 16 seed or a playin game and unfortunately get blown out by a 1 seed. The committee knows the SLC is very weak The answer to y’all’s question which both of you already know; are the Cardinals any good? For the SLC possibly, but in reality NO they are not! That’s about as truthful as I can get

3 seasons and 3 very good years for PNG 2 state finals, with 1 being a state championship, and 4 rounds deep. I would say highly impressive meat to go Indians!

Coach Joseph and staff have done a phenomenal job with the Indians. A very excellent hire I certainly hope PNG wins this week The big worry is the secondary. Remember the 1st state game vs SOC, the DL and LB’ers shut down the run, however the secondary was simply overmatched. I am hoping this is not the case this game Good luck Indians!

How long are going to keep Brooks. They are about as bad as you can get. They are getting beat by funky dink teams. Appears that they will be Southland Conference cellar dwellers this season

The same intensity they played in the 1st half. They got outplayed 21-0 in 2nd half and yes I know most of those players were backups. They better be intense to have a chance vs Texas High Have a great week Indians and hopefully get to round 4

Another nice win for the Indians. On to round 3. However if they play like they did the 2nd half they will not have a chinaman’s chance vs Texarkana

Coach Rich and assistants need to have an excellent offseason after a nice 7-4 season. I don’t know how many juniors are returning, however the JV and freshman teams did well. Hopefully there is some talent there It appeared to me that the backup QB and RB have a chance to do well if they are not seniors. The OL could be good if they were not seniors. I thought the defensive line was ok I do like the offensive scheme similar to Katy’s. I certainly think he knows what he is doing on offense and the offensive staff did a good job. The defensive staff did not do a good job imo. I know a lot of it has to do with a lack of talent and being slow, but also very soft. I watched every game and besides having an ok DL and #6, they were extremely weak Obviously the staff will evaluate the season and know what should be addressed and hopefully have a good offseason. One major thing that has to get better is the mouthing and late hit personal foul penalties I certainly like the hire and am looking forward to the Bulldogs getting back to being a very competitive team. They will be in this tough district at least 1 more year

Nederland’s 1st 8 games minus Silsbee were pretty good. The last 3 have been really bad on defense. The offense was doing well until tonight and Nederland’s OL got manhandled 7-4 was a good 1st season for Coach Rich, now we will see if he can build the program back up. The JV and freshman teams were good, so we will see. Thomas and Sunday will be missed Must have a great off season and find players that can play defense

Nederland secondary is making Texas high look like all Americans. If that corner doesn’t want to play put someone in for him. What a pitiful effort on that TD

There is no doubt that Texas High is very talented, but 42-7 at the half is simply put horrendous defense. Nederland had a chance to go as 1 seed but choked it up in the last minute vs Montgomery I think if I were Coach Rich after seeing this defense the past 3 weeks, I would be looking to replace several defensive coaches. They have zero pressure on the QB, can’t cover anyone and can’t tackle. I mean what is left to do on defense
