An historic Upset Saturday in college basketball.

No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6 all lost. For the first time ever on the same day.

Seven top-10 teams lost. For the first time ever on the same day. Crazy day!!!!!!

Why I still like to watch college basketball even though everyone pretty much runs the same defense and offense.

This is how I think the primary will go.

Abbott will win with maybe 60% or more  of the vote and it will be over.

But as a possibility, the protest vote will be split 3 ways. That really does not matter in the primary election.  There will be a runoff if Abbott gets 1 vote less than 50%.

Abbott can get 49%, West can get 20%, Huffines 19% and Prather 12% and there will be a runoff between Abbott and West.  Now if 100% of the protest vote goes for West, he likely wins.  I just don’t see that happening however. Assuming roughly the same people vote in the runoff, West might get 75% of Huffines and Prather voters but he will not nearly overcome Abbott only needing a couple of points. I have seen too many comments and other forums such as, I am voting for a Prather/Huffines/West in the primary but if he is not in a runoff, I voting for Abbott.

The only way that I see Abbott losing in the primary is if he only gets about 35% of the vote and is in a runoff. If 2/3 of the voters are not for him in the primary, he has a significant chance of losing. If he is in a runoff but gets over 45% in the current vote, I don’t see any other candidate overcoming the only 5% additional support he needs.

Probably a good analysis of the situation and I will still vote in the primary just to see where the chips fall.  But for sure in the end anyone but Beto the "hell yes we're taking your AR-15s and AK-47s . . ."

  3. My problem isn't that Trump didn't do the "right" things while in office, my problem is that Trump was raised in the elitist environment. Venezuela fell to socialism because the people fighting against socialism trusted their leaders fighting against this tyrannical socialism and in the end were sold out by these leaders for money and positions in this tyrannical government.  If you wrestle with pigs you will get mud on you too but the pigs will like it. So yeah a little biblical verse "Put not your faith in man." I do agree that the best way to judge someone's character is to look at who is against them or who their enemies are but a little caution goes a long ways.

Another problem in the equation of creating success ………. Self reflection and personal critique of one s own ability. Being honest with one self is becoming less and less especially in sports and really just general.
warren for an example. They re not good that’s easy to see.  When your record is what it is and your getting blown out in most those losses then yeah your not good.  A student of the game will see their personal weaknesses in skills and try to improve on them year around….and a majority of that is done during non basketball season…..and it’s even easier now days with the ability to have instant knowledge at your fingertips to help improve but they d rather be in that waste of time social media mess.
Team ball should take up the majority of in season practice…..

so self discipline comes into play now and that’s lacking as well in general.

How many juniors Sophs freshman etc etc are gonna self reflect (in season as well) after year is over and do what I mentioned above.  I don’t know the kids personally but I see some with potential and some that show in season effort and heart…… but how many truly are gonna put personal work in. It’s fine and dandy if your playing for the fun of it, but don’t expect much in return. And parents be honest ….at least with yourself about your own kids abilities. And don’t use the warren measuring stick.

As optimistic as coaches can be it is an uphill battle now days competing with social media and parents with their lack of knowledge and expectations for their children. Parents think taking their children to select sports gets their children the skills necessary to play at a high level but if that child does not put in the work and have the self discipline to increase their own skills and have the awareness of what their abilities are.  I find that many of the problems of coaching is the fact that so many "athletes" are not even watching the game at the college level where skills are achieved at a team level these "athletes" are not students of the game. In the words of Kevin Durant, “hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.”

  6. Thank you to whoever is doing this thread.  Coverage and scores haven't been all that good and I wonder why they put a thread of scores and standings if no-one is going to keep up with it.  I know things have changed but it seems the only people that are aware of the standings are only the coaches.

It falls on admin….as well as school board but then again the board is elected by parents.

i ve been asked numerous times to come to warren to coach because I live there and that s were my kids go…..can’t do it because many of these parents don’t know what it takes to win (as well delusional to what talent they have vs the talent at other schools) and the kicker “I don’t play favorite s, I don’t do parents status, I don’t do politics.

Character, work, produce and you ll play.

Amen Brother, don't waste your time there your efforts there will always be undermined by the Superintendent and board because they will cower under the pressure from a parent and not the good of the program. I know first hand and now I am elsewhere.
