  1. Yep, could end up with Trinity going into 9 and possibly Tarkington if they were to stay down.
  2. Understood. A scenario could go like this: OC- Can I bring my own playbook? HC- Yes, as long as your play book is what I want to run.
  3. "Calling plays" and "bringing your own playbook" are drastically different. I indicated that the instances where it happens are when the new OC is bringing a skillset that correlates to the progression of what they "are doing" or "want to do". I have seen some cases of defensive minded HC that wants to focus primarily on defense without sinking too far into the offense and as a result gives the OC more latitude. Even in that case the HC will select an OC that runs the offense that fits what he wants for the team. The more common scenario is the OC calls the plays within the offense that the HC chooses.
  4. Have not heard of many HFC/AD letting an OC bring their own playbook unless it continues a progression of what they "are doing" or "want to do". Not being able to bring your own playbook does not equate to "glorified assistant".
  5. No chance LCM drops.
  6. I cant open the TEA page with my rural internet. It was well over the last cut off. Cant remember exactly what it was. You could check the link on the 1st page of this thread.
  7. Those schools look like they will stay the same. However, as mentioned previously I think Splendora will move up and could join PNG and Nederland. As a note: I could be wrong about all of this. I have no inside knowledge, just my review of enrollments compared with the current cut off numbers.
  8. Do you not know someone close to Coldspring? If so, you should understand what they have at the skill positions, and what they will have on the OL/DL this year. They generally compete for the district championship on a regular basis and have consistently with the current coaching regime. Not sure why anyone would think they would "not make the playoffs"?
  9. I never said that "Coldspring would win state" but I did say "they would be much improved and could be a potential force in the region". I will say with some degree of confidence that Coldspring will make the playoffs. Too much firepower and too much talent. I made a similar preseason call on Dayton last year after they won only 2 games in the previous 2 years and had just as many (probably more) naysayers. **Make sure you jump on the bandwagon when the Trojans get hot.
  10. Looks like Trinity may replace them in the district.
  11. One thing for certain on SETX is that whichever team loses, believes the winning team fans/players/coaches were "terrible" or "classless".
  12. Because "Facebook" is what everyone should go by.
  13. I expect the numbers could jump again at the beginning of next year as they did this year. Snapshots are taken in the first part of the year but if OF enrollment remains as you have indicated, OF should be good.
  14. I went through the whole district. Splendora looks certain to move up but the rest look safe. I think the next closest one for moving up was Vidor.
  15. Splendora is in there now. With Splendora leaving, West Fork would be a logical replacement/fit.
  16. Showing OF at 586 8-11 and 618 7-10. I think it is possible they go up.
  17. Lumberton does not appear to be close to moving up unless they lower the cut.
  18. You never know. If Tarkington were to get some momentum, the destiny can change. It will take a little time and a strategic plan. Hopefully the community will support the new coach and give him the time and flexibility to implement his plan.
  19. Quite possible. I hope they get to stay in 3AD1 given all of the turnover lately. Would be a tall order for the new regime to have to deal with 4AD2 out of the gate in current circumstances.
  20. Based on that, it looks like West Fork may start out as a 4AD1 and jump to 5AD2 next round when they have a full school.
  21. Never said Tarkington would be over 600 kids. Shepherd is the one that will be over 600. If the cut off went to 570 that would likely save Tarkington. My initial projections were based upon existing cut off numbers.
  22. That would keep them in the same district. Their enrollment 8-11 is 441,
