Tarkington kids may very well learn "what it means to be a man", that we be something the community can hang their hat on. But they will be losing in football due to "no talent".

For the folks who believe that "Tarkington has talent to win" and that "all they need is a good coach to win a State Title", please remember this prophesy 40 years from now: "Tarkington is/will be tragically slow and weak with no quantifiable football talent. They will never win a championship in football".

Agree 100%. anyone who believes that talent in Tarkington is similar to Liberty Hill or Stephenville is living in a fantasy world. No one in Stephenville or Tarkington ever had a day in their life where they "saying the same thing" as Tarkington.

Was Kendall Bryles the QB? If so, that is better than anything that has/will ever go through Tarkington.

Ok, how many years has it been since Vance left? How many years was Vance in LH? How has the program done without Vance? Were they in the State Championship this year? Without Vance?

Also, the new coach has done just as well as Vance. Vance did not win the title every year he was at LH.

Tarkington definitely has a "chance to win some games". Make sure you play Huntington, HD, WH, or Hardin. That is what they (and Tarkington) are for: " a chance to win some games" and "homecoming opponent".

The good thing is that there are playoffs and rankings mean nothing. Will be interesting to see what they are ranked 3-4 rounds into the playoffs when all the "deserving teams" are being eliminated. Rusk likely has the best pitcher in the state and he was not available until last week. Expect a "miraculous" turnaround for an "undeserving team".

They are voting on "who is pitching now and what they are at this time". Everyone (including the voters) know the story.

I suspect the voters know who just returned to pitch.
