  1. I dont think you mean ill-will to Coldspring. However, did 3 consecutive "non-winning" seasons stop Hitchcock from going 11-2? and becoming a "team to beat" (by your words)? The previous 5 seasons for Hitchcock were worse than the five you identified for Coldspring and yet (all of a sudden) they became a "team to beat"? The basis of your point is diminished because one of the teams you identify as a "team to beat" had a worse 5-year span than Coldspring prior to being 11-2. This would indicate that it is possible for Coldspring with a much better 5-year span than what Hitchcock had prior to last season to "also go 11-2" or better?
  2. Understood, Hitchcock has a worse record over the same timeframe. Not sure I am following the logic. Columbus and Lorena are definitely big fish in the region. As stated, Coldspring is returning nearly the entire team and will upgrade over what lost on the OL/DL. Expect them to be much improved. Time will tell on how far they can make it in the playoffs.
  3. I think everyone has agreed that Franklin is the team to beat. Matchups from 4 years ago are irrelevant. Last year results are somewhat relevant but by no means a guaranteed indicator either. The Region goes through Franklin but everybody else is in play.
  4. I might be pulling for Coldspring.
  5. Did Woodville not have a good season? 2 rounds deep with close losses to Diboll and the top 2 teams in the region. Not a bad showing.
  6. Keep the faith. You may be pleasantly surprised this year.
  7. Students moving to "Open Enrollment" districts must sit out a year if they are already in High School.
  8. I dont disagree with anything you have said. Columbus seems like a definite factor based upon the results that you stated. Woodville and Diboll also played Franklin close. As previously mentioned, CS beat Diboll and played Woodville down to the wire. Lorena certainly deserves consideration as well but no one other than Franklin is without question marks which would serve to accentuate the point that the Region is not "stacked" and could be had if a team "such as CS" were to significantly improve (which I anticipate they will). CS has the vast majority of a competitive team back (includes key skill players) and will add at least one impact player that will upgrade the box on both sides of the ball.
  9. Do they have an exclusive attendance zone like normal districts? If not, the advantage is not disputable.
  10. Understood. Outside of Franklin the region is not immense with powerhouse programs. The initial statement was that they will contend in the region. I guess we will see. Just out of curiosity, other than Franklin, who do you see as the Regional power?
  11. No, my apologies for knowing more about the situation and thinking they will do well.
  12. Many were sophomores. 4 of the 5 losses were by a TD or less and they beat Diboll. Very common for a young team to have inconsistency. There is an incoming freshman that will impact both sides of the ball. Contending for District is the minimum.
  13. Every starter on defense is back and nearly all starters on offense return. Got at least one Freshman that will be making an impact on Varsity.
  14. Heard they have another "Jeff Granger" on the team.
  15. What is OF overall record?
  16. So, your an advocate for the Tony Franklin offense in Vidor?
  17. Coldspring going to make a push in the 3AD1 region. They are bringing a loaded wagon.
  18. Brilliant logic. Which specific offense do you recommend that would yield greater results with the same players?
  19. Sarcasm understood, Mine was continuing the sarcasm. Agree with you 100%. The Slot T clearly works as do most systems when run and executed correctly.
  20. Never thought of Vidor as "having speed". I wonder if the logic is that "speed is a hinderance to the Slot T"? Or, "we are too fast to properly run the Slot T"?
  21. Just curious why you think Vidor cant win with the Slot T?
  22. What will the new coach be running on offense?
  23. Well spoken. Which topics would you allow to be posted (if you were in charge of topics)?
  24. Center will likely not play as bad as they did against LCM. LCM was able to hang around due to one of the worst offensive games of the year by Center. If Center and LCM played again, Center would win by 20+. Regardless, Washington will definitely be the favorite.
