Splendora, Tarkington and Center -
WOS struggles last year are the result of: 1.0 slight talent drop combined with 2. new coaching "style/process". Nothing more.
-
Awesome. What does a kid that has been running a 50 for "their entire life" do differently in a 3-4?

HF is likely the toughest game on the schedule. That game will be a good indicator of the strength of the program. HF might be better than almost every team in 3AD1 other than Franklin, Hitchcock or Columbus. HF may be better than those three also. CS got a few more to deal with prior to HF that cannot be taken lightly. -

Yep. My new team. Also be supporting Cleveland and Tarkington from now on. And Huffman again now that I am back in the area. -

DCTF got the district top 4 like this: 1. Diboll 2. Woodville 3. Coldspring 4. Westwood I am predicting Coldspring 1st with Westwood 2nd (though I am less certain on the 2nd spot). Got some move ins that DCTF did not account for. -
Is 2021 in 2023? Why not bring up the 1970s, 1980s or 1990s? If Carthage was beat in the 1980s that means they can be beat in 2023, right? Completely different group of players on the team now, I think?
-
Rusk is not going to win any district championships as long as they are in the district with Carthage and nor will anyone else in the state for 4A if they were in the district. However, Rusk has no problem with attendance and has a good fanbase.
-
Wish him the best. They have a pretty good group coming up from 8th grade that will support him well.
-
I think they lost a few good players but they have retained a good amount. I was told they have adequate replenishments to maintain their current trend.

Does the cafeteria "serve the kids"?

Still waiting for someone to show me the big difference between a 50 and 3-4. Are you saying that a 3-4 does "not bring edge pressure" or "shoot gaps"?

The D1 colleges believe PNG to have more talent.
-
Did not say anyone was going to "disappear". However, the only limiting factor on Dayton this year is that FBM and PNG have more talent to the point where it will be difficult for Dayton to overcome. The talent level at Dayton will jump next year and the gap between the others will be gone. With Ware's system in place and equal (to more) talent, Dayton will be the favorite (my call). You may very well need to see more but I have seen enough to feel confident in my prediction.
-
Dayton will not "fade" as long as Coach Ware is HFC. They may have some years where they do not win the district but they will not "fade". However, after this year they will likely be competing for District Championship and be favorites for at least a 3 year run.
-
You don’t remember any of my Dayton predictions other than those which have come to pass. Whether Nederland stays down or not they will not be beating Dayton anytime soon. And playoff matchups from years ago are not relevant. I am not assuming anything but making a prediction based on what I know about the program and the talent coming up through the pipeline.
-
Dayton is not my team but I have always supported Coach Ware and been steadfastly confident in his process.
-
That is correct. Coach Ware took over a decade long dumpster fire. It takes some time to instill the degree of discipline that Dayton has now. Dayton operation is first rate (though I do understand you dont want to believe it). I look forward to hearing back from you when my predictions come to pass.
-
Dayton did not lose enough starters for Nederland to be in play. Dayton also has some key players joining. Dayton is well above where Nederland is at the moment and next year (and the next few after) Dayton will be a favorite for the District Championship. The players that left are why Dayton is likely to finish 3rd this year. Dayton system and process are among the best in the state. Nederland is at the place where they hope to beat GP, Willowridge and SF.
-
Beating "Nederland" only makes a program "not a bottom feeder". But Dayton will be contending for District Championships in the foreseeable future (after this year). Dayton is probably tracking for 3rd this year for reasons mentioned by others regarding turnover.
