  1. No idea "why change it". Seems like they have a decent record. PNG is also a decent team capable of beating a smaller school. Are you saying WOS coaches are less knowledgeable than the fanbase? Novices? Dont know defenses? Perhaps they know the exact depth and ability of particular positions? Do they have more LBs? Less DLs? or vice versa? They see the kids practice. I wouldnt be surprised if the "yards between the tackles" changed throughout the year.
  2. Got it. We both "question what we question". Just trying to figure out if the players are still lining up on DL and LB. What part of it is different that they cannot figure it out? Also, what is their record? Has WOS ever lost a game to a larger school in the past? Still ended up good?
  3. Just in case the new coach "doesnt know anything about defense" and "just started coaching this year", where exactly do you believe the kids are "lining up that they do not know how to play"? Did something change for MLBs? Did filling the gaps change? OLBs? Did something change for the DTs? Are they still playing 5, 4i? 0,1,2 or 3? Do they not know how to play the new positions? DBs still covering WRs? Did they forget how to cover WRs? Or did the new coach tell them not to cover WRs? What "system" is he running that is "not proven"? All defenses are successful when the players execute.
  4. If Newton could not beat Woodville, they cannot beat WOS. WOS will win this comfortably.
  5. Yep, Crosby has fallen. They had a good run but it is over now. Very sad how bad they were beaten.
  6. There will not be a "big dance" anytime soon for Crosby. That ship sailed.
  7. Looks like the clock finally struck midnight and Crosby turned back into a pumpkin. Will be hard to recover from this level of beatdown.
  8. He went to Texas. Played WR. Was always a hill "too tall" for us to climb in football and basketball. SFA was the class of the district in both sports.
  9. Heard the 8th grade at Newton is very good with a great RB. Center current 8th grade group has never lost a game. As far as JH games go, this will be a fun one.
  10. Back to back shutouts. Time for everyone to start complaining about the new defense.
  11. "Offensively we are better than last year" followed by "Offensively we are in bad shape". Which is it? Better? or bad shape?
  12. Odd vs Even front is not "rocket science". The coaches do not need to "see" anything, and the kids could care less what front they are running. Fronts can be changed frequently depending upon personnel. Seems like if WV was shut out, WOS defense looked decent. Fans need to "pump the brakes" on looking for a failure.
  13. Will do. We need to get a comment guideline set up for this site that lets readers know exactly what they think or say. Might make more sense to set up fact checkers to review each comment before the comments actually show on the forum. The last think we want are readers noticing mistakes and having the audacity to mention the mistake.
  14. I am "suggesting" that stating the record of "8-3" in the first sentence was sufficient. No need to re-state the exact information in the next sentence. Not "nitpicking", it is a simple mistake by the writer/editor that was humorous.
  15. They finished with an "8 and 3 record, while finishing 3rd in the district with 8 wins and 3 losses"? Did Kamala Harris write this?
  16. LOL. You know a lot. They are glad to "not have Carthage".
  17. Your coaches didnt "enjoy playing Carthage". Most fans dont like "automatic losses". Silsbee and Blue/Silver team may be the exception.
  18. Perhaps. I suspect if someone were to put together a poll comprised of every 4AD2 school in the state, listing "preferred teams to be in your district", Carthage would be dead last.
  19. I am not sure which company was selected. I know for certain that the exact same plans are being utilized as the building in Marshall. FYI, a circular coliseum is being built as well for basketball that will also include new weight facilities.
  20. The exact same pavilion is about to built in Center. Should be completed by February.
  21. Those who stripe fields on Wednesday nights after practice, prefer turf.
  22. Understood. The conversation continued with other participants and took different turns which were not chronicled in the quote you cited. SLC is ranked #3. DV is ranked #4. It is common for the higher ranked teams to "match up" with lower ranked teams in "real time". When teams are ranked "higher", someone, somewhere believes the higher ranked team to be superior (an at least match up) to the lower ranked team. DV has done very well in the last few years which is why they are impressively ranked #4. Dave Campbell's Texas Football believes that only three teams are better than DV. One of the teams that Dave Campbell's Texas Football rates higher than DV is SLC.
  23. Agreed. 2021 doesn't mean anything going into this year either, as it is a new season. The genesis of the debate was whether SLC could "match up" with Duncanville (and later Katy). Duncanville is currently a strong program as is SLC and Katy. The hypothetical between Duncanville and Katy can currently be nothing more than hypothetical. Regardless of who "would win" any of the match ups, there is absolutely no rationale case to be made for Katy or SLC "not holding their own" or "matching up" against any team in the state on any given year (I know that was not your statement but others). Katy and SLC were winning big, long before and during Duncanville current hot streak. And SLC is currently ranked 3 with DV ranked 4. Someone, somewhere thinks SLC is better to some extent.
  24. Especially when someone is making a case against Katy and Southlake Carroll football accomplishments. Particularly against a school (DV), that has won a "single" championship in the same competition for 20+ years. I missed the rule about "changing the subject" or "conceding the last word to Dirty_but_Dazzling".
