Probably include Wimberly. Jasper might be a threat also.

Ironically the year before last, LH beat Crosby 42-14 in the State Semi-Final who beat PNG 69-28. Just curious if Crosby had any good OL that year? Seems like LH handled them well and the alleged "superior" Region. Also wonder if LH (being a running team) was adversely impacted by losing their top 2 RBs?
-
Definitely in that one game. Unfortunately, PNG has not been good enough to meet LH in the playoffs before last year
-
They have been stopping “massive O-Lines” for decades
-
I am not saying that you have to "like it", just explaining "why". Good thing is that they will have a chance to prove the rankings wrong starting in a couple of months.
-
LH is ranked higher based on their track record and what they have back for the upcoming year. PNG (at the moment) is a good story but has not shown longevity as LH.
-
Got it. Understanding that "last year" means "nothing", LH on a year in year out basis is better than PNG. For now the safe bet is LH.
-
Understood. Will the exact same players be playing again? Which program has done better in the last 20 years? Which program has a better track record in similar circumstances (aware the PNG won last year when LH did not have their RBs)?
-
Are they scrap helmets? Dont know the circumstances but it doesnt sound like a big deal.
-
Exactly. Who knows what is going on, they are probably taking a break and waiting to get it all straight before football.

BREAKING Crosby hires HFC/AD Joe Willis

With 1000% certainty, I can guarantee you that every coach in Crosby is laughing as well. Probably be remembering him for years to come when they are telling old stories. -

You need to go to another program. You can tell them how much you know and "what good football is supposed to look like". Be sure to tell the coach that won the state championship "doesnt know what good football looks like". I bet they will love to have you around. Have you already looked at housing in a new district? -

Did you get the PAPF sign off commitment? You could be a "blessing" to another coaching staff somewhere else. -
Really not many "good situations" in rural schools these days. With coaches/teachers/admins struggling to meet staffing demands and government mandates it has created a volatile situation industry wide.

BREAKING Crosby hires HFC/AD Joe Willis

You would be one of the ones in the community that sabotage the coaches before they ever get started. They hired to Coach Willis to "get the job done" and empowered him (as they should) to do his job. You did not want before you ever knew a thing about him because of his age saying that they should not hire a 60 year old coach (which you were wrong about). I expect you will be against anything he does without consulting with you first. -
Agreed, except the group they have in the pipeline now is likely the greatest collection they have ever had. The team that lost to CS was not in the same solar system as this group. The only way they lose in the next 3 years is if they play up when they set their next "pre-district" schedule after the next alignment. They will not lose to a 4A team.

Where do you see it shaking out?
-
But they only a total of 4 SRs. Many Sophomores and JRs got extensive playing time. Should help them out this year. Tarkington is a great example of FR not starting on Varsity. It happens, but it is not common. I bet if we could get the total numbers for every team, the number of FR varsity starters the % would be less than 5%.

Yep, Suratt is the best. And he will have 3 more in the next 3 years.
-
Understood. Using that logic, no coach in the history of the state has reached "good" status.
-
Yep, many of them move in already “developed” from other programs. Regardless, he is going down as the greatest coach that ever stepped on a football field in Texas. Do you believe that Suratt is the metric for judging good coaches?

You think losing to Carthage 49-0 and "not winning district" in the district with Carthage is an indictment on Rusk? Wimberly was beat the same way in the state championship by Carthage and they were better than any team in this region. Carthage will be 64-0 after the next 3 years are complete and they will be the preeminent program in the history of high school football. Rusk just sent out consecutive D1 QBs and has been one of the more prolific offenses in the region for the last few years. Rusk also has a strong group coming up from the lower grades. Rusk is a great place for him to flourish.
-
Understood, because you dont have the information. Those coaches at Nederland know what they are doing as do almost all coaches. Especially those running an offense and coaching QBs. Some of the best coaching jobs are done during losing seasons and are frequently accompanied with comments from the stands like "yall dont know what you are doing", "Yall need to work on blocking", "Yall need to work on catching", etc. All the while those making the comments have no idea what the coaches are dealing with or what they encounter at practice.

If you "cant tell us what drills they did", you "dont know what you are talking about". You have clearly never coached and have no idea about how kids develop as players. There are some players that can be "coached" 24/7 and never get the job done. This why certain schools never have consistent winning records regardless of who is coaching. It is also the reason a school can have a losing record one year and a winning record the next year with the exact same coaching staff. The coaches coach the same way in the losing season as they did in the winning season. The only thing that changed was the players.
