This may have been posted earlier but I generally don't read this board much anymore.  If so, my apologies.  I have zero problem with this law because pastors obviously shouldn't be forced to perform acts that are contrary to their beliefs and convictions.

Just as they shouldn't be prevented from performing acts that aren't against their beliefs and convictions and which do no harm to others.   Here are a couple of articles I found interesting and insightful.   And which, I believe, present food for thought.

This country is headed the same direction. While the people are distracted by gay marriage and confederate flags, our bought and paid for politicians are giving Obama fast track to sell our country out from under us.

I can't speak for Sarah Palin but she may just view things the way I do. I have two daughters whom conceived out of wedlock. I was disappointed but loved them no less and support them in everything they do. We've been blessed with grandkids. However, it has not changed my premarital beliefs one bit. Does this make me a hypocrite? 

I see a lot of Christians being hateful judgemental etc. As A Christian I hold my views. BUT you'll never see me telling someone there going to hell won't be accepted into the kingdom etc. As if God made them head Judge. Honestly it's like Christians forgot what really matters. Its like what non believer who consider picking up a Bible after hearing such hate. I'm not saying being gay is right or wrong I'm just saying God loves us all.  And we should all do our part in  bringing more to Christ . I'm sure God would want all in a house of worship. Its a big difference between aye how bout we pray together about it. Then your going to burn in hell.....And yes I'm as straight as it gets. 

Like mentioned before...I wish black  Americans would focus on the genocide that is occurring in the streets of America at the hand of their own socio-culture. I mean thousands of young black men are dying for why???can anyone tell??? I mean dang people let's focus some more on the past and a flag. Folks it's our history as a collective good and bad. But to ignore the real threat to black America is insane...if black leaders don't step up and lead...if the families don't stand up take their children back from the streets than all is for not! To hell with a flag or the tragic past...learn from it but we have so many more priblems that deserve attention than this rhetoric.

The poster children for these two "classes" you refer to are a 60 year old grandfather with severe mental issues, and a white woman that has lied about everything she has ever done. Why can't we call a spade a spade and get these two clowns some mental help and out of the news?  Did this help, or did I scare the fish off?

Currently underway w/numerous air boats,horsemen/cowboys evacuating 500 head cattle from rising trinity river floodwaters.This is the highest recorded flood,and tireless days of preparations (incl building a dirt levee around the last available cattle pasture on a high spot,levee failed,so evacuation forced moving the est 1million $ cattle to CNC rail yard on hiway 146.Looking@ videos cattle quite tired of swimming in current.Once they reach hiway 90(soon now)they will shut down highway 90 between Lib/Dayt,drive the cattle to FM 1409 near Brookshire Bros then down to Brown Road to highway 146 south.Expect numerous roads closed to traffic for next several hours.This is historic for friends/family/volunteers pulling together under extreme/dangerous conditions.The sm young baby calves had to be rescued first yesterday as they can't/don't know to swim.Some may say/ask why they waited=answer the last pasture had NEVER had water on it.Folks don't stop to think every river in Tx is flooding sending flood waters into the bays which dump into the Gulf.Now when high tides come in the flooding water upstream can't flow=backing water up.Upstream lakes are flooding but holding water as much as possible being above normal pool.Just in the Trinity River basin TX has 12 major lakes,all above normal pool.The 12 lakes combine for 197,000 surface acres of water not incl.subdivision/man made private lakes/ponds.Prayers to all volunteers during this time,incl law enforcement,others

I'm no conspiracy theorist or anti-police... but this mess is starting to smell bad. No officer was injured. Not even a minor injury reported. How is it in a gunfight the casualties are all one sided? I remember something like this went down in Waco once before...

If he is involved in a criminal act by being with others, he is responsible for the acts of everyone and is not entitled to self defense claims. I am not saying that he can't claim it but under TX Chapter 71 Organized Crime (similar to federal RICO statutes) and Chapter 9 Defenses, he needs to have abandoned the activity before it was obvious that he would be caught. 
 
An example of TX Chapter 71 is that if 5 people are involved in crimes, even if one or more are not at the scene of a particular crime, they are all responsible for the most serious crime committed. So if we have a group (does not have to be a "gang") where two guys break into a car (burglary of vehicle), one of them and two of the others break into a home (Burglary of Habitation) and one of the guys that broke into the home but not the car got with the fifth guy and committed an Aggravated (armed) Robbery, they can all be charged with the Aggravated Robbery. Not only that, let's say the most serious crime was the home burglary. That is only a 2nd degree felony. By being involved in organized crime, it goes to the next higher offense or a 1st degree felony, equal to murder in punishment. 
 
In the first scenario of Aggravated Robbery, it carries a 99 year maximum so it cannot be enhanced but any crime less than a 1st degree felony can be enhanced to the next higher crime. 
 
All meaning that assuming this retired officer voluntarily was involved in a gang and the gang (any members) committed a crime, he can likewise be charged. That is why at the moment I think they are all charged as Capital Murder. 
 
In TX murder of more than one person is a capital crime and carries the death sentence or life without parole. So if anyone involved in the incident was part of a crime that killed more than 1 person, then everyone involved can (and in this case have been) charged with the highest crime or Capital Murder. 
 
Of course the DA has to prove the case and people will almost surely cut deals but that is the law that they are going under. If a retired officer was stupid enough to be involved, shame on him and he may very well face the music like everyone else and should.

Bottom line is this dude became a victim because of his own actions......
 
He apparently made a living dealing drugs.....That is a pretty risky profession and there is a good chance that you will end up dead......typically by other drug dealers.....This time it was because of something I hope we will soon find out.
