  1. Honestly, the only fact that matters in this whole thread is that WO-S churns out raw talent better than any school in the area. There are alot of great coaches out there that will never have the talent that WO-S gets on a regular basis and their records reflect that in comparison to WO-S. Aside from good coaching, you gotta have the athletes, and equally as important, a community that backs their football program. Not to take away from their tremendous success, but compared to their present and past district opponents, WO-S rarely faces hard opposition until about 3 to 4 rounds deep. WO-S is blessed with athletes, great coaching, and a community that supports the team. That is what it takes to be successful, if you are missing any one of those three elements, your record will look like any of the schools that aren't WO-S in the article.
  2. Ummmm, football is predominantly played outside, so weather is very much apart of the game. Thinking that it isn't and shouldn't be is foolish.
  3. It is a whole different culture with East Texas football, especially Carthage. Everything is centered around football. Yeah, they have all the other sports and other extracurriculars, but everyone knows in those communities that football is second to nothing, and that is why Carthage does well every year.
  4. Sub Varsity is important. It shows what your future holds and helps develop players. If it wasn't important, then what is the point in Middle school, freshman, and JV games. I know Its all about the Varsity but to say your Sub-Varsity isn't important is basically saying you don't care about the future of the program.
  5. Barely made the playoffs? Lumberton secured a spot after beating BC. TWO weeks ago. Honestly, I think the mentality of "oh we already made the playoffs" killed them the past two games.
  6. Considering the Sub Varsity teams have been very successful this year, the future looks good for Lumberton. Jv went undefeated with a tie. Freshman had a winning season. Babin has a great thing going, Lumberton needs him there. As far as the game tonight, Lumberton players didnt show up to play and LCM players did. LCM wanted this win more.
  7. So you have Lumberton losing to both Splendora and LCM? That would be an interesting result.
  8. If Huffman can get their pass offense clicking, I don't see LCM's secondary keeping up with them. In that case, I predict 35 to 21 Huffman. On the other hand, if Huffman fails to get it's pass offense going, they could very well lose against LCM in a close game.
  9. I can't wait for Friday night. Regardless of what is said or what you all think, this game is BIG and has HUGE implications. I think both teams will show up ready to play and it will be one the better games to be at on Friday night! The team with the highest rushing yards versus the number 1 run defense team, it will be a fight and I predict a close a game with the Raiders getting the victory.
  10. Most of those yard came from them running the dog poo out of Livingston when they put 89 points on them. That stat is a little skewed by that game. I promise Lumberton will be 100 times better against the run.
  11. This game has huge implications as far as seeding goes for playoffs, so I expect a total shootout and whoever plays the best defense will win this game.
  12. Buna and EC will be the best quality matchup out of the three listed
  13. Splendora put 87 on Livingston, I think Lumberton will be more humane in their victory.
  14. That makes for three starting QBs with torn ACLs this year. Orangefield and Lumberton's starting QBs both suffered torn ACLs as well. Unfortunate year for quarterbacks
  15. East Chambers will be too much for the Bobcats here. EC wins this 35 to 14
  16. I think the passing numbers have been limited due to the weather, but who cares?? Yeah, watching a team throw the ball is cool and all, but I would never waste my time watching Hardin play Warren. I'd rather watch Orangefield and Vidor run the slot-t down each others throats.
  17. Warren lost to West Hardin. West Hardin lost to Lumberton's JV team. Hardin will win this game pretty easily. I predict Hardin 35, Warren 7
  18. I going with Orangefield in this one. Orangefield 28 Buna 14
  19. Always throwing shade on Lumberton, but Ill back up your prediction. lol I think Lumberton will bounce back from a tough loss at Concordia. I feel the weather will play a big factor in this one. In a close game, I predict Lumberton 24 Silsbee 21.
  20. Ill keep it real and simple. WOS has had a rough start, but their schedule so far is one of the toughest in the area. BC is not a formidable opponent and I believe that this will be a landslide victory for the Mustangs. Mustangs 48 Cardinals 14.
  21. I think everyone gets a little sensitive when it comes to their local hometown football team. No matter where you're at. Isn't that why we come here to chat it up? Lol
  22. Furr and Kirbyville were good confidence booster wins. Don't assume Concordia Lutheran is in the same private school talent level as to the likes of Kelly. Concordia is well coached, quick, disciplined and they run a very efficient offense. They have had great success in other sports and show to have great athletes. This will be no cakewalk for the Lumberton Raiders. A win here will have to be earned.
  23. I tried to give LCM the benefit of the doubt.. lol
