1.
I'm going to go with Silsbee upsetting BC.
Look at that...I got me one right. I haven't heard anything about Ashly so I'm hoping that means she is okay.
2. BC is much better this year. They have many girls that have been on varsity for 3 years I believe. Silsbee is down this year. Fight for third between BC, WO-S, and H-F. H-J and OF seem to be on top...time will tell.
3. Closer than I expected. Congrats to H-J on the win and good job BC on what looks to have been a very good game.
4.
Dustin Hood was an excellent pocket passer, best I've seen, who could scramble and throw on the run, but he had a power running game with Mosley. The spread offense began with Sampere at QB. He broke his foot in the Brenham game at Reliant and Bellow stepped in to hang on for the big win. For the spread offense to be really successful, you need a Cam Newton type QB.
I thought they started it with Hood...but I do remember now they had Mosley with him. Did they do a lot of shotgun single back set with Hood? I thought I remember seeing him in a lot of shotgun three wide receiver sets. Perhaps not.
5. I'm not from Nederland and I think Coach Neumann is one of the best coaches, if not the best, in this area. How was Nederland's football before he got there? This is an honest question because I don't know, but I feel like they have been much better since he has been there. I could be wrong on that. Didn't he move to the spread when Dustin Hood was there? My timeline may be off. That's when I remember that move and I thought it was a great move because that's what the talent gave him. Now should it have been a spread since Dustin left...I don't know. But I think he is a very good coach.
6. From what I've seen...I've only been able to catch a couple of 21-3A games so far this year. The Freshman PG for HF can go. I don't know his name or anything, I've just put pieces together on here to figure out it's Bluedove's son (I think). Only reason I went to watch HF play. I have to say sir...if that is your son...he's good and you and previous coaches have done a good job teaching him the game. I saw tons of height on that team when I watched them play. Guard play is going to make or break that team.
7. Perhaps their Freshman PG should be up to either start or come off the bench. He seems very quick and knows how to play the position.
8. My opinion...very good program. They just keep running into better teams early in the playoffs. From the years I've watched them, they usually seem to have 2 very good quality hitters and a big gap from there. I believe you need 3 or 4 very strong quality hitters, a good setter(s), and a great defense to get to state.
9. Seems most of the "better" teams are in the top half. GLTA.
10. From that score, doesn't seem either team shot very well. Or just amazing defense.
11.
What a good season for the short girls....it took the Regional Champs to take them out of the Bracket play, just like last year.  Good luck to Columbus, you certainly were the best team BC played all season!  Go upset Lucus Lovejoy at the State Tourney.
I've really thought about if I should respond b/c I figure I might offend you and I don't want to. I just have a different opinion I guess. From the stands BC doesn't look all that short to me. I thought they had about 5 girls or so that were 5'8" or taller. I could be wrong on that...it's hard to tell how tall people are from the stands. I don't agree that it took the Regional Champs to take BC out. It took the Regional Champs to take LaGrange out since LaGrange lost to them in the Regional Championship. BC just happened to lose to the Regional Champions. Fact is, even if BC would have beat Columbus and Caldwell last year, they probably would not have made it past Tarkington. With that said, I think the BC girls had a great season and that group of girls has been fun to watch for the past two years. The had one of the smartest OH I've seen around here in a while. Great season 21-3A
12.
You know....anyone can beat anyone on any given night...but I sure hope Columbus wins!!!  The biggest disadvantage for them will be the lack of experience (compared to Lovejoy & WImberley) at the State Tournament.  But, hey!   ya never know!!  Go Cardinals!!!!  :)
Not sure if you have had the opportunity to see Wimberley or Lovejoy play this year, but they are extremely impressive. I haven't seen Abilene Wylie play. Columbus has a gigantic task ahead of them, but you are right...you never know.
13. Silsbee has been going for 2 all year. Do they not have a kicker or is this just the philosophy this year?
14. More talented teams in other areas this year.
15.
Why in 5??? If they are good enough to beat em why not take it in 3??? Just sayin.... Huffman has come a long way and I think will take them in 3 because of skill.... why do you think they will lose???
HF in 5.

Sorry I haven't been on in a while to respond. The reason I picked HF is because their district through and through is tougher than Huffman's. The only other good team in Huffman's district is Tarkington and sometimes that can hurt teams going into the playoffs. If you have been around volleyball for a while then you would know why I didn't automatically pick them in 3. Just because one team might be better does not mean they will automatically when in 3. That's nonsense. I thought it was going to be at least 4 games because I thought both teams were pretty even as a whole. Congrats to Huffman and goodluck against LaGrange. I do believe LaGrange will be the Region 3 rep. in the state tournament along with Wimberley, Lovejoy, and Monahans. Picking Monahans to upset Wylie and LaGrange to upset Gatesville.
16.
District 17 pulled out the brooms on poor ole District 18. It wasnt close in any of the games. This may be a prelude to football as well.
Didn't Kingwood Park lose in 5 games? Not good when a #1 seed loses to a #4, but I would qualify that as a close game. The others...I'm with you...D-17 seemed to dominate. VBhubby...I think the only 19-4A or 20-4A team that will be left at the end of this week is BH, but I think they fall to Magnolia next week. JMO...good luck to all the area teams.
17. I hope BC can pull this out, but I think Columbus will win. If BC does win, I think it will go to 5, but I got Columbus in 4. Hope BC pulls this out tonight. GL BC.
18. I'm going with BH in 4. I don't think they will get past Magnolia on Tuesday...but I like them tonight. Good luck BH
