1. Looks like Dirk is doing it again. A lot of youth showed tonight for the Thunder. They have a great future. A lot of awesome young talent there. Russell Westbrook is a very good player. I would put him as a top 7 all around PG. Rose, Paul, Kidd, Rondo, Williams, Nash and Westbrook. They do it all. Look at the Numbers:                                 PPG      FG%    RB    AST.      PER Paul                          15.9    .463    4.1    9.8      23.76 Westbrook                  21.9    .442    8.2    4.6      23.63 Rose                          25.0    .445    4.1    7.7      23.62 Williams                    20.1    .439    4.0  10.3      21.19 Nash                          14.7    .492    3.5  11.4      20.81 Rondo                        10.6    .475    4.4  11.2      17.11 Kidd                            7.9    .361    4.4    8.2      14.46 Seems like he is pretty good to me. It's obvious he is lacking on the Assisst. When he becomes a bit more of a true point he'll be one of the top three in the game. I haven't watched hime enough to know about his defense. Rondo and Kidd are great defensive players. Maybe someone else knows about Westbrook and his D. It's important to note, he's only 22.
2. I never said she shouldn't keep her job. If you scroll up a little you will see I said I think she should. You should apply at UT. It seems you think you can do a better job than the two men that are there who seem to win every year.
3. What was UT's recent success before Barnes and Brown got there? I bet there are hundreds of programs that would love to have those two. National Championships are very hard to win. 1 in 30 years...many big programs would love to have that. Has VT won one? So is Frank Beemer a bad coach? Bob Stoops has only won one right...so he must not be good either.
4. I don't know if you were talking about district titles, but WO-S made the playoffs in 2005. I do think the basketball coach should keep her job if she wants it. She hasn't had a great amount of talent in years. She has done a good job.
5.

I hate the Lakers but having the #2 seed going into the playoffs doesn't qualify as "not good this year." The Mavs just straight up outplayed the them and I think they lost their composure after the game 2 loss. I think the Mavs in 6...would like to see OKC but I don't know who's going to stop Dirk.
Who will stop Durant? (the 2011 NBA scoring champion)  that should be the question.
Looks like neither were stopped tonight. Dirk won the battle thought. We'll see what happens in game two.
6. I think the coaches will give everyone a fair shot. With that being said, I think JJ will win the spot. It's the SLC people...not the SEC. He has the speed and athleticism to make things happen with his legs. 4.38 compared to 4.8 is a huge difference. I agree, the 40 doesn't isn't the maker in football. Players make plays and I truly believe there are many athletes who have better game speed than "combine" speed. However, the 40 tells so much about your acceleration. 0.42 in the 40 is a lot. He can run away and out of situations that many other QB's can't do. I believe he has a good receiving core with Hicks and Jackson (I think that was his name). You are going to have to send more than 4 to get to JJ.

8. So public schools will now have to compete with the possibly that a 3A/4A private school outside of Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas that can recruit while the public schools can't? I don't think it will really effect 4A if I understand this correctly, but I believe it could impact 3A. Do I understand this right?
9. How is WOS in the total points? What about Ozen's girls?
10. Don't really know anything about any of these guys but if I offered a job to someone twice and they turned it down both times, I don't think I would offer it to them again.
11. I hope AJ has a great showing at Regionals. Has she decided on where she wants to jump in college?
12. Testing has been going on for decades...just called different things before TAKS.
13.
Also I totally disagree about the whole regional qualifier is equal to a scrimmage.  That is the one meet out of the entire year my athletes get excited about. Usually good weather and excellent competition.  Numerous school records are set at regional qualifiers as well as I know that the Rice, Sam Houston, and UTSA coach were there recruiting at the Woodlands RQ.  I know Huffman set three school records, Bridge City had at least one, and I think Nederland had two.  Most of my athletes will have faster times at the RQ then Regionals because of the competiton.  If some of these times/marks were never posted it would hurt recruiting of these athletes.
Do you happen to know where the Woodlands results might be?
14. HJ won the 200. I hardly think San Augustine had an easy time. They won the 4x200m on the last leg...until then it was a great race. The 800M had 3 girls within 1.5 sec of each other. I don't know what the San Augustine girl can run but I looked at the district results for 21-3A and both of those girls that were there can run under 2:30. 4x400m was the only race I remember seeing that was cake walk. Does anyone have results...we can add up the points and see how much San Augustine won by since they appearantly were too good for everyone else there.
15.

West Hardin got 2nd in the 4x400 relay losing to Bridge City which is 3A
In the girls division, San Augustine easily won every relay along with the 800M. Not much competition. East Chambers went elsewhere. Wish they had been there.
16. This is dumb in my opinion. They traded away a lot of their great players (also had many injured) and they still had a winning season. I think he is one of the most underrated coaches in the game.
17. PNG kid won High Jump...I believe 6'8". I think the Ned. boy placed 3rd.
18. School sports should come first. CraigS...if I faced what coaches face today when I coached...I wouldn't let a child play who was going to miss games/meets for their club sport. I would wish them the best of luck in club and hope they received the scholarship they were looking for. However, as long as you and the coach had that agreement...then that's the agreement. Didn't OF not let girls play volleyball because they missed because of select? If that is true, why was the same rule not followed all year?
19.
Kori Soignet won dist 25 1A with her personal best of 5'-4"...just missed 5'-6"...
I thought she went to Silsbee.
20. Very possible they won't lose a district game for the next 3-4 years.
