1. I know it's no skin off your back AAW, but man...that was low what he said.
2. AAW, I know we don't see eye to eye with volleyball (mostly b/c I don't think you know what you are talking about when it comes to the sport and it seems like you try to pick arguements with everyone... 8) but what the BC dad said was low and very disrespectful. If he is the dad I think he is,I'm completely shocked that he would sink so low. I apologize to you and your family for him.
3.
The PNG last years 4A District Champs and projected Champs this season took out BC 3-1 tonight. PNG has the best HS Setter I have seen in the last 4 years.  They are a complete team. BC did very well at times against the high-end enrollment unit of quality players.  Hopefully a tough opponent schedule will prepare them for 21-3A ball.
I believe LC-M won that district last year. I think they were 13-1 losing to Ozen.
4. Between Tarkington and Huffman for district.
5. Good post salum. You've made me think about this a little deeper and I agree. If it's a varsity player and they are not there for 2 a days, I could see major problems with team chemistry. If it's a fresh or j.v. I could see where they could be allowed to play in time. Anyone know what level these players are?
6. How much of two-a-days is she missing? I don't think she should see any playing time until everything she has missed has been made up. But that's jmo.
7.

Come on, folks!  We need a BUNCH OF THESE schedules!
Get Rison or ET to get them for you. They know all about the area volleyball scene. ::)
Don't know schedules outside what I see on the news, here, or school websites.
8.
Does BC have a setter, I thought their setter graduated and she was really good.
Yes one of their setters did graduate. The games I saw BC play last year they ran a 6-2. I do not know if they ran that all year or not. I'm pretty sure they also had another setter on the bench, so they had three quality setters. BC was not a very good passing team last year and Kosh made a lot of mediocre passes into great kill opportunities. They should be a much better passing team this year so I think their setters will do just fine. Bleed...I agree...OF could win a district championship in volleyball this year.
9. Very interesting year like last year. Show up or you will get beat. Aggie won't like my picks because his...well you'll see. I have heard of some injuries concerning very important players for some teams. Don't know the truth behind them but I'm going to assume no injuries until I get to go watch teams play in some tournaments. My picks are as follows: 1) Bridge City 2) Orangefield 3) H-F 4) Silsbee 5) H-J 6) WO-S If Orangefield uses the Granger girl as an Outside when she is on frontrow, they are going to be really tough. Could see a split between them and BC and playing a game for seeding.Really would not be shocked if we see a play in game between H-F and Silsbee. H-F lost a lot last year and Silsbee lost a very important person seeing as they ran a 5-1. Both teams always seem to just reload so I'm sure they will be tough as usual. Could be 2007 all over again but a couple different teams in different games. Good luck to all the teams on the upcoming season.
10. Look beyond 2008 and see. You didn't have Silsbee on there...how did they do? 10-12 is not all bad in my opinion. In 4A you are almost guaranteed a loss when your 4th place school plays a 1st place school. LCM also got upset big time by Dayton that year.
11. Are you crazy...the local volleyball teams don't do well in the playoffs? They do very well. Go and look at the UIL website and look at the playoffs for local teams 1A-4A. A lot more winning than one and done going on there.
12. I like the new logo but does remind me of this Thundercats..Thundercats...Thundercats...ohhhhhhhhhh
13.
I'm sure this job in Louisiana is a good opportunity. However, I don't understand why you leave a team with the talent HF is bringing back. It can be argued the HF pg is one of the best in the area and I heard they were getting a transfer just as good if not better.
Better than HF's point? That would be hard pressed to find in this area, but if so, could be a very dangerous team next year.
14. Aggie...I agree with you here (shocking huh...lol). I was thinking today after seeing it on the news, it just seems watered down to me to make the playoffs for many districts if 4 teams start making it. With this being said, does anyone know how the numbers would change if they went to a 6A? Would the cutoff numbers for each classification change, or would it really only effect 4A/5A?
15. I believe with the cast they are surrounding themselves with (Miller, Haslem, Ilguskus) they will challenge this year. I think a possible 66-68 wins this season. I believe the signing of Miller was huge. Chalmers may start at point but Wade will play just as many (if not more) minutes at point. With Miller, they now have a lethal swingman and one of the best spot up shooters in the game.
16. What happened to the coach that was there this year? Wasn't he only there one year?
17. I've always thought the Knicks would end up with someone as well but if Bosh goes with Lebron to Chicago, which I think will happen, Stoudemire is almost as close as a guarantee this free agency can be to going to the heat with Wade. If that happens, I don't see Boozer going there and I think Boozer, Johnson, Harris, and Lopez would be a quick contender for the playoffs in the East should those two decide to go there. Maybe Bosh will mess everything up and go to the Rockets...I actually think that for the money...Lee would be better. He's going to be probably close to half the price and then you can try and find someone else. But what I heard on ESPN is the Rockets are wanting to do a sign and trade.
18. Bulls-Lebron and Bosh Heat-Stoudemire and Wade Nets-Johnson and Boozer Mavs- Dirk Celtics- Allen and Pierce Rudy Gay, David Lee...don't even have a guess. Maybe both the Knicks? I'm sure all of this will be wrong...haha. Wouldn't be suprised to see Johnson and Stoudemire stay where they are at. If Stoudemire stays, Boozer goes to the heat.
19. I love the pick. I think he will bring great energy to the court as well.
20. Absolutely. It is the premier girls sport as a whole in southeast Texas. There seemed to me a lot let talk on here after it's heading got taken away.
21. Speechless, grammar please. MANY top college coaches lift during the season. I've heard a college coach say that he noticed his team was getting weaker on the boards and lose balls when not working out during the season. It's the coach's preference here and as someone stated before, if you are working out all the time it's not going to hurt you. Think about it, when are you sore when you work out? When you first start or when you move up to the next level. If athletes are lifting during football season and hit a plateau and just continue those same workouts during basketball season (to keep their strength and not lose it) how is that going to hurt them? All of this is just my opinion of course.
22. Congrats to Aimee. However she was not Outstanding Outside, she played Middle and was 1st Team All District...could have been Outstanding Middle but I guess votes did not go her way (Neely from Silsbee is a fine player as well, not trying to take anything away). Congrats. Could have probably excelled in some of the Field events as well...great athlete.
23.
here's the difference between the "known" basketball programs (kountze, silsbee, hj, ozen).  1st of all, they don't have to worry about the football coach taking them on game days because a lot of those kids, the better ones especially, are strait basketball kids.  Also, kids at those schools play basketball RELIGIOUSLY all year.  ALL YEAR.  Those kids have open gyms once or twice a week throughout the year.  Football season, BASKETBALL season, summer, it doesn't matter.  They play all of the time.  That's why they're good. Plus they have tremendous athletes.  That never hurts.  Hamshire doesn't have those types of athletes, or play enough
Can't put it on the football coach. You can have an all inclusive athletics period and win in each sport. I'm pretty sure that most, if not all, female athletics are this way and they transition from sport to sport. Does the HF head bball coach also coach football? If so, then that should be his priority during football season anyways imo. I don't understand what the big deal is...if they play football, they train for football during football season. If not, they should be put in a very extrenuous off season program until basketball comes around. I assume HF has open gym. I would like to know how many kids are showing up to open gym. I bet Kountze, Silsbee, HJ, and Ozen are packed with kids everytime the situation presents itself. Baketball is really one of those sports you have to keep playing because it's easy to lose your shot quick and can be a while before you get it back. I think you hit it on the head, my guess is the kids (as of late) just aren't playing enough. Not sure if they really have anywhere to play either besides open gym, maybe the community should open some type of activity building. I believe they have the athletes (I think all schools have them) but are outmatched at this moment by HJ and Silsbee. Pretty much fighting for a 3rd seed every year.
24.
I haven't seen anyone here claim Kobe doesn't have a team.  Obviously no one wins a championship by themself
I'm not talking about here...I'm talking about in the media. A lot of the media acts like they wouldn't be very good without Kobe...I disagree...still a playoff team without him. Might be a 7 or 8 seed...but the boys around him can play some ball.
25. Kobe definately did not win it on his own tonight. He has a great team around him...I don't see why a lot of people don't see that. They have three 7 footers...that's rediculous. Their defense was great tonight. Anyone who doesn't see how important Kendrick is to the Celtics...we saw it tonight.
