SteelerCzy reacted to 77 in Democratic National Convention
Watching the state run media early this morning and it is almost laughable the way they are making the leaked emails all about Trump and how Putin is backing him instead of saying if they have these emails what else do they have possibly from a secret server in a basement some where. This shows the true bias in living color and its a terrible shame!

I feel the same way, but I'm voting for Trump as a vote against Hillary.

They have said that the last two weeks. We have conquered three district champs along the way. I believe LCM has earned some respect they did not have a easy road.

SteelerCzy reacted to baddog in So.... This Donald Trump Guy..
It takes a backstabbing scum bag to be a politician. Trump can sling the dirt better than any of them but I think he will tone it down, which he has already to some degree. Hillary is scum in its purest form. No other way to explain it.

And most, if not all politicians, are purveyors of words rather than actions. Who knows, maybe this time we will get someone who is not an eloquent speaker, does not live by Political Correctness, and might actually achieve something?

SteelerCzy reacted to RattlerBlue in It's official...UIL football championships returning to AT&T
I agree. When you decide not to attend simply because the game is being held in Houston, then try to make a valid point that AT&T is superior, that's crazy. Yes, AT&T is very nice; however, it's not fair that Houston and NRG is getting such backlash due to those simply not attending because the game were not in DFW.
I've read and heard some say that they didn't attend because they don't like Houston... traffic is too bad... etc.. All EXCUSES!!!

SteelerCzy reacted to TxHoops in When you're flipping channels, which movie do you stop on every time you see it?
Before I opened this thread, I immediately thought Shawshank. Would have to add The Godfather (I and II), Goodfellas, and Wedding Crashers.

Your three plus War Games, Big, The Silence of the Lambs, The Green Mile, several more but I'm drawing a blank.

Anytime I'm flipping channels and I see Shawshank Redemption, I stop every time. No country for old men and Forrest Gump usually stop me too.

LCM has always done the noise thing. Got very little to do with game, just annoys the people trying to watch.
If you cant throw strikes and they hit the ones you do then they're playing better ball.
I don't have to like the truth to say it.

Congrats to the Pirates on a solid season! A lot of good wins this year despite what the community went through.

Deweyville is a scrappy team. Hits the ball well. Equally impressive considering all they have endured this baseball season.

SteelerCzy reacted to N8_44 in Vidor 13 Lumberton 2/Final
I'm sure this will piss someone off, but oh well. Hypothetically speaking of course, if I was a dad and my son decided to "make a stand", and said "stand" was him going to play volleyball during "baseball" season, in the middle of district play, id ring his damn neck, I'm not in the business of stepping on other parents toes, because being a parent is not an easy task, and we all want for our kids to make all the right decisions and be the best at everything, but you're missing an opportunity here, to teach a lesson. Making stands are character defining, ego-boosting, admirable, courageous, and some instances, down right stupid. You can choose what category it falls into. I'm only basing my "opinion off of "your" post and the info in this thread. *the players played in a meaningless volleyball game that coach didn't want them playing in because the risk of injury could derail any playoff dream. And the players played in the game anyway, and luckily came out injury free. Coach found out and punished the kids who played, resulting in 2 other kids getting an opportunity to play a signifucant role int a key game, which you lost. I think the pnemaking the true "stand" here, is the Coach. Did his team suffer from not having the services of 2 key players? Yeah it seems so, but coach didn't make that decision, that punishment to the team, was dealt by the selfish players who went against the will of their coach, and by all means common sense, by playing in a meaningless volleyball game, which now holds so much more significance, than it ever should have. The kids let their team down, the coach "made a stand"

I've been told that one of the local schools will be passing the hat at their game on Friday to assist the Deweyville baseball kids.
Perhaps others could follow suit.

So much for just congratulating these young athletes for winning...... Congrats to JD and Tims! There are several athletes that could have been nominated and were well deserving of it, but someone has to win it. All of the Kids that were nominated can hold their heads high and good luck to them at the next level!

First time I have ever heard of a player being sent home by a player's committee. Look you can go 'til you are blue in the face claiming that there is nothing unusual about this or that this is the culture of college football, but the results show that you are, as usual, wrong and you can tell us all about your college days to try and convince us otherwise, but you are just blowing smoke. There are folks from all over the Triangle, and for that matter, all over this nation who have managed to avoid these "VERY common" occurrences. So don't try to sell me your crap, 'cause I ain't buying!
